"Perfect Stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
The Westin was perfect! Stayed in a suite with friends for a weekend away. The hotel was clean and the service was great. The location is perfect for walking and dining in the old port and totally accessible if you want to spend time downtown or further North. No complaints!

Price at the restaurant was high ei $16.00 for glass of house wine. Gym under reno and card for other facility didn't work

Staff is friendly, restaurants are wonderful, location ideal!
"Perfection in Old Montreal"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
We only stayed the one night at Place d'Armes hotel, on our way back to Vancouver and then home, but we wished we had more time, and will return. The hotel staff were both welcoming and efficient (not a combination one often finds), and the hotel itself was immaculate in every respect. The room was flawless in its design, the bed was soft enough to be comfortable, but not so soft as to feel like one is clambering from a bean-bag, upon rising, (as I found in so many hotels in the States!) I particularly appreciated that the designers had eschewed a bath/shower combination in the large bathroom, and installed a large, stone-clad, walk-in shower with a beautiful glass shower screen, instead. The location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Old Town Montreal by foot, which was just what we wanted to do, since we only had the one night. When we checked out, we left our luggage with Place D'Armes, mentioned when we would return for our flight and, when we did, a taxi was already awaiting us. Immaculate service.

"Le St-Martin Hotel"
The Hotel was very nice and clean. Wonderful staff. The room was very relaxing. We had a great get away. The breakfast was good also.
"Perfect for our purpose"
We stay at the St-Martin 3 to 4 times a year while visiting family. It is located in the suburb so it may not be convenient for folks visiting Montreal itself but it is perfect for those visiting family and friends in Laval or surrounding areas. Very close to the highway, which makes driving downtown Montreal a breeze (15 minutes when traffic is free-flowing) […] and getting to the Laurentians takes about 45 minutes. Very comfy bed, helpful staff. Read more
"Nice"
nice hotel. will come back next time.
"Boutique Hotel"
The St-Martin in Laval is a great boutique hotel. Great atmosphere, clean and quiet room, nice and comfy bed, breakfast for free and news paper. Close to the Laurentian highway. I just like it!
"Great Hotel"

Despite of the location in the middle of busy strip mall, the hotel is great. Almost make us think in small town. Breakfast was great and price was excellent.
"Le St-Martin Hotel & Suites Laval - Recommended"
Lovely hotel, but surrounding is just commercial malls etc. No pleasant area to walk around, but many restaurant can be reached by foot. We had a car, so drove into Montreal for sight seeing. We chose this hotel based on price, free parking and breakfast, and relative proximity to Montreal. Nice breakfast area in the hotel (though the items are just […] average). If the weather is nice, breakfast can also be enjoyed outside. Our room wan nice, clean, and relaxing. Exactly what we were hoping for. Did not try the gym or hot tub, so can't comment. Front desk stuff was very helpful and friendly. Read more
"WOW Factor"
Our reaction to the room was WOW and it was the best place to ride out Irene then I could think of. Great breakfast too!
"Le St. Martin"
This hotel is very elegant looking, but the immediate neighborhood is not what you might expect. It is in a very commercial area with heavy traffic. On one side is a Dodge dealer, on the other a McDonalds, and across the street a Wal-Mart. Also it appears that something had happened at the hotel as all the doors had wanted posters asking for information […] about someone who had been caught on a security camera. Not all rooms labeled as Executive Classic have walk-in showers with glass doors. I believe the refrigerator noted in the amenities is in the mini-bar and not a separate appliance. The room was smaller than I was expecting. If you are driving it is very close to the main highway with lots of parking and places to eat nearby, but if you are coming from the U.S. you will have to drive through Montreal, which is like driving through any large American city. One other thing: The hotel puts out bottles of wine and water and chocolates on the tables in the room. These are not complimentary--check the prices on the card before opening them. Read more
"Very nice hotel"
Beautiful room, huge bathroom, great breakfast. The front desk was very helpful. Lots of places to eat in the neighborhood. Convienient to a metro station so getting into Montreal is no problem. Would certainly stay there again.
"St Martin Hotel"
The hotel staff was amazing. Very nice and had no issues speaking English. All where very knowledgable of the area and places to visit in that area. The continental breakfast was perfect. The rooms are kept clean. The only thing that I did not like was the bed. A little to hard for me and it felt like someone slept to one side, so I always ended up […] at the edge of the bed. Otherwise i would recommend the hotel to anyone. Price was right as well and the convenience to Montreal was good as well. Read more
"The Le-St Martin Laval"
very nice hotel very satisfied on my stay.
"Wedding until 2"
On the second day at our stay, a wedding reception was at the hotel. Unfortunately, the tent and the speakers were right outside of our window. The music was so loud that we might as well should have been part of the wedding reception. When asked the front desk if there is anything they can do, they said no we just have to put up with the party until […] 2AM. Read more

"St-Martin Hotel in Laval ..very nice"
Check-in was very quick and I got my standard room upgraded. Staff was very friendly. Room was very comfy and clean. Breakfast was very good and it included:scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bagels, croissants, banana cake, cereals, fruits, milk, juice, coffee and hot chocolate. Will surely return to this hotel.

"Nice hotel, but no so great location"
Overall, the hotel is very clean and well maintained, the rooms are luxurious (however the walls were a bit thin as we could hear everyone passing by in the hallway), and the staff is friendly and courteous. The continental breakfast was also satisfying with choice of scrambled and hard boiled eggs, breads and pastries, cereal, fruit, coffee, etc. The […] only one drawback to the hotel is the location - if you are hoping to spend the majority of your time in downtown Montreal. Make no mistake, Laval is a suburb of Montreal and is a good 20-25 minutes away by car or metro. As in a typical suburb, it is surrounded by Walmart, car delearships, and gas stations, and the parking is ample and free. If you have children and wish to stay in a calmer, clean, well priced setting, this hotel is a great option. If you're young and hip and wish to stay near the action, spend a little extra and stay in downtown Montreal. Read more
I have stayed at many 4 star hotels (including quite a few in Montreal) and the Le St. Martin is at the top of that list -A great value with a 3 star price and the quality of a 5 star (without the haughtiness). An easy flat 15 minute walk to the subway system. Breakfast was more than sufficient (eggs (hot/cold), breads, yogurt, fruit, juice and coffee/tea). If […] you usually stay in Montreal, give this one a try - like me - you'll go gain. Read more
"not bad, but not great either"
I booked this hotel for four nights. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms do look like the pictures. The view is terrible though, as there is a Walmart right outside of the windows and a car dealership on the other side. While the pictures presented look like there is a swimming pool, it is actually a large jacuzzi tub. They have another one indoors […] as well. There were just a couple of unexpected things. First, the breakfast provided is terrible and the servers were rude. Second, while they provide one small cup of complimentary coffee, they do not provide complimentary creamer but instead have a basket full of creamers marked $1.50 each. I found that to be a bit ridiculous. Overall it was an OK stay, but I would probably not go back. Read more
"Le St. Martin Laval, QC - close to the metro"
Le St. Martin is a wonderful, elegant and fairly priced hotel. Although it is not in the city, you are just a 20 minute walk to the Montemorency Metro Station that can transport you to city center within 20 minutes. You can buy a 3 day Metro pass for $14.00 CAD that gives you unlimited access to the metro and STM buses. There is a a nice mall called […] Laval Centre right across the street from the hotel as well as a Walmart. There is also a 24 hour McDonalds across from the rear of the hotel. The hotel has a delicious free breakfast that features eggs, croissants, banana bread, fresh yogurt, and more. There is a wonderful indoor jacuzzi and small seasonal outdoor pool. The room was beautiful and clean as well as the rest of the hotel. Overall, highly recommended if you would like to stay near Montreal without breaking the bank. Read more
"Good locatin if you do not mind driving"
With a GPS the city is a breeze. Montreal is a very popular town that can have a lot of traffic jams. Lots of maintenance on the highways so the traffic does get backed up at times.

"Excellent comfortable four star hotel."
Free internet, Free 30 minuets local calls, free parking, Comfortable quite rooms.
"An excellent hotel"
One of the best hotel experiences that I have had. From the time I arrived when I left and a taxi was arranged. Above average in service, cleanliness and amenities. I will certainly return here.
"Le St-Martin Hotel, perfect...!!!"

"Great room for the money"
Looks luxurious but at a modest price!
"Comfortable and convenient"
Although the immediate vicinity of this hotel is not all that exciting, its proximity to a major highway makes it a practical choice at an affordable price. Downtown Montreal is a 20-minute drive away, and the heart of the Laurentians less than an hour away. Very comfortable and clean. Staff is very helpful. We have stayed at St.Martin multiple times […] and it is always our first choice when visiting family. Read more
"Great Location & Amenities"
The St Martin is a great looking hotel that is well furnished in-room and in the common areas. It's in a great location in Laval and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the Montreal area.
"Wonderful beds and pillows"
Beautiful hotel with very comfortable beds. Its about a 5 minute drive to the metro station. Several restaurants are within a couple of minutes drive. If you don't mind the half hour metro ride to get to downtown Montreal, this is an excellent choice.

"Good hotel"
This hotel is located in Laval, just northern part of Montreal and one and half hour away from Mont-Temblant Ski resort, my destination. I loved the location, amenities (even fridge and microwave in the room!!) and hospitality of crews. I could easily find some super stores (including Wall mart) near the hotel. If you plan to travel to Mont-Temblant […] area, I think this accommodation should be your first spot to consider. Read more
"Nice Looking....."
Great Hot tub/public jacuzzi - altho they should have an Adult hour or so after 9PM (No Kids) Secondly the matresses are not very comfortable. The Brealfast is a little on the week side. But everything else was fantastic.
"Very Comfortable"
Lovely place for a good night rest.
"Outstanding Hotel"
It is an outstanding hotel except surrounded with commercial buildings, such as car dealer, fast food chains, gas station, and walmart. By looking at the website, I thought it was located in woody areas.
"Great room, great price!"
Very nice hotel with the most comfortable bed away from home a person could find! Beautifully decorated and very cozy!

"Very Nice"
The suites do not have separate rooms like many others. Instead there is one large room with a sofa bed and a king sized bed, one bathroom and one TV. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There is a mall closeby and the metro is a 5 minute drive or a 15 minute walk away.

"Great Hotel for Price"
The hotel is extremely chic for such an affordable price. The rooms are well appointed, the staff is very professional. My only gripe is that the room was absolutely freezing when we walked in, and the sheets and bedding were a little scratchy for my taste. Otherwise, everything was lovely.
