Microtel at Eagle River is a standard hotel. Not bad, not great, just average. It was what I needed for this trip. Since I went in July it was light until 1AM and came back up at 4AM. The hotel had sufficient curtains to ensure the room was dark enough to sleep. The free wireless was adequate, the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the water […] pressure was sufficient. The people were friendly but the quality of the complementary breakfast was below average. Overall the hotel as a whole did not go out of it's way to be outstanding, but at the same time was OK. "AVOID THIS MOTEL"
The only good thing about his motel is that a couple of the staff were friendly. Filthy, loud, terrible "continental breakfast," very poor maintenance, etc. The only other worse motel i've stayed at was in a 3d world country.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I would stay here again"
The price was great for these days. I found the staff very friendly and accomadating. I was pleased with how clean it was and how it was quiet for my stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed almost 2 weeks. Bathroom was not cleaned only trash removed and towels replaced and bed made.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
everything was good, pay for what you get. it was clean, service was nice. the only thing to complain about it was the breakfast, it sucked. orange juice was watery, apple juice tasted like tea, it wasnt even 10:30am yet and they started putting everything away. bagels, muffins, oatmeal just pastries. continental breakfast. other than that the stay […] wasnt so bad. if youre looking for fancing here it not the place. felt for more like motel though. "Long Business Trip"
I don't really have anything bad to say. They staff was friendly and pleasant. I stayed here almost 3 weeks and don't have any complaints. I will stay here again if I am in the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Maide service"
We was gone most of the day,but when we came back to the room, the room was clean.great Maide service!Genuine Expedia guest review
"overpriced for what you get"
Not very impressed. The room was clean but the breakfast was poor - a few bagels, muffins, and cold cereal. Room was the highest priced in the Anchorage area that we stayed at in a week.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"If all you need is a bed . . . ."
The hotel was mostly clean, but very spartan in its furnishings. The bed was too firm. Noise from the highway out front kept me awake. I would not book this hotel again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the money!"
My wife works as a house cleaner in another town, so she was more observant to the many problems with this hotel. The towel draped over the edge of the bathtub was dirty, the blanket was dirty. The front desk computer looks like it was in a dust storm, while the employee sit in the back doing nothing. Who ever is the manager of this place needs to step […] it up to a third degree. The shower is a bit weird too... And the wifi was a bit problematic the first night of our stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Basic roof over your head"
This is a decent, serviceable but bare-bones hotel option that is close to Anchorage but far enough away to avoid some of the noise and traffic of staying in the city. The hotel itself is in decent condition and the cleaning staff do their job, but be aware that there are NO extra amenities of any kind: no hair dryer, coffee maker, microwave or refrigerator […] in the room, and no blanket on the bed (just sheets). The continental breakfast consists of cereal or bagels, with some weak coffee. The lack of creature comforts was a little disappointing given how high the high room rates were. "nice outer appearance, very courteous staff. needs"
nice outer appearance and very courteous staff. breakfast was absolutely minimal.beds need upgraded and better heat and AC control (NO A/C at all) of course Alaska doesn't have a lot of need for one. The rooms tended to be hot and a little over priced for what you got. I had a suite but ammenities were minimal. Internet was strong.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel close to my family's home in Chugiak AK"
3rd year of staying in motel, This year was very noisy the first two nights and had to complain to front desk but they handled it. Was able to get a good nights rest on the third night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not so swell hotel"
They never cleaned the rooms juzt straightened up daily. One day to hint to them we stripped our beds and put everything on floor they didnt clean that day so we approached staff and she said they had no clean linen or towels for room and gave us blankets with holes in them and dingy bedding and made us do service. So when we approached manager he blammed […] it on us that we had sign up or choose not to have service. Wow. The halls and elevators smell like urine. Also the heaters do not work in rooms and when u asked the staff there answer is it is alwayz hot on 2nd floor and dont need heater. We gave up and just were in our room.for sleep and thtz all not a cozy or clean place not recommended at all. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We had reserved a room with two beds but we had a room with one double bed & my 5'8" daughter had to sleep on a shelf in the window well on a camping cushion that was very stained. There were fresh urine stains on the bathroom wall that had a cursory swipe through them from the person who "cleaned" the room prior to our arrival. We told the front desk […] person the next morning & he just shrugged & said that he wished he could do something about it but he couldn't do anything. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Excellent, friendly staff. However, even for a Microtel, the amenities were lacking. I had to request pillows for my bed and a hair dyer. The room was clean but the bed very old and uncomfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible , over priced"

"You Can Do Better"
Wanting an early start on our trip to Talkeetna, we stayed in Eagle River instead of Anchorage, but we should have stayed at our Anc. hotel. We were supposedly upgraded to a handicapped accessible room, and while we did have more space, the carpet was damp in one place, and the bathroom had absolutely no shelf space, not even a towel ring by the sink. […] It made no sense; the architect should have been forced to spend a night here AND use the bathroom! Towels are thin, and bath towels are unusually short. Items normally included in budget hotels are conspicuously absent here: conditioner and lotion, hair dryer (had to ask at front desk), microwave, even a cheapie coffee maker! They did provide a minimalist, free breakfast - no fruit or yogurt, just bagel and bread, oatmeal packets and dry cereal. If you're staying and it is warm or you want to block road noise, ask for a fan. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Locks do not work and no air conditioning"
I checked in on a Thursday. I found out there is no A/C in the hotel. This was not mentioned during making a reservation. That was a definite downside as it was in the high eighties when staying there. The lock was broken and I requested it to be fixed the next day. As of Sunday, it STILL had not been fixed. The carpets were stained. The elevator smelled […] like urine. The bathroom was in good condition and clean when I checked in. Though it was not wiped down once during my four day stay there. The bed was nicely made the first day. The next few days it was very sloppily made, and sheets were not tucked at all. The last day it was made up nicely again. The floor was not vacuumed once during the time I stayed there. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Visit to Alaska"
Since it was July it was warm. Be aware there is no air conditioning. There was no hot water in the morning for a shower. The water in the evening was barely warm. The carpet had multiple stains and not sure how clean the beadspread was. The continental breakfast was a joke. A generic cereal, generic bagel or left over muffin. No selection. Juice machine […] did not work correctly and the juice was watered down. Please pick some place else to stay. This was not only the worst Microtel I have ever stayed in, it was one of the worst places I have stayed. The name with the words "Inn & Suites" was very deceiving. You kind of expect something nice. Well, surprise... it isn't. The two star average rating from other reveiwers is right on. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not impressed. Lukewarm showers, dingy unmatched linens, no hair dryer in room. Minimal closet and continental breakfast. Only pluses are price and convenient location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"smelly and worn out"
I had to request for a hair blow dryer and iron. Requested extra pillows because the pillows were very flat. I was asked to come and pick up all items requested. Elevator and stairs smelled badly. Furniture was worn and stained. A chair was ready to break. Carpets needed cleaning. Parking lot had a huge pot hole that filled with water. Poorly maintained […] hotel. "Basic, no frills, clean"
Over priced for what you get, (I guess that's Alaska prices!) Within walking distance of a large store where you can get food, deli, clothes, spark plugs but not within walking distance of anything else. Blackout curtains (needed in the summer) had holes in them and the rod was broken so they wouldn't close. Small microwave, coffee maker and fridge […] in the room was nice. No hair dryer or iron in the room. Desk person friendly but most often in the back room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice people but........."
Continental breakfast is anything but.......Bed was never made up, not sure the reason. No fridge or microwave in room like was expected. People are very nice and I wish I could give this motel a higher rating. Might stay there again as there is not a lot of competition and will just not have such high expectations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient to Eagle River"
Our stay was pleasant and the hotel staff was courteous. The hotel is getting a little run down and needs some maintenance. The doors on some of the cupboards are not hung straight. The towels and bedding are worn. There is a large pot hole in the driveway. I'm sure this will be fixed when weather allows. In general the building just needs some TLC […] . "Find a hotel in Anchorage and drive to Eagle River"
The carpet wasn't clean after vacuuming. The rooms have thin walls and ceilings; too much noise from the neighbors in adjoining rooms. Kept me awake all night. The continental breakfast offered microwavable food but no microwave safe dishes in which to cook the food. The hot water dispenser for tea was "out of order" for several days, as were other […] necessary kitchen appliances. The hotel skimps on maintenance. In the room I found broken items, which had to be repaired before I could occupy the room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, in great need of maintainence!"
Great location! Way over priced! Needs major maintenance! And customer service training! Shower barely warm, beds very uncomfortable, lock broken on door, do you want me to continue?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Bare essentials, clean, professional staff, somewhat quiet area (right next to a highway access road). My only gripe are the loud hallway doors, however after 11pm there wasn't too much foot traffic. For the price, can't really complain.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel offers the basic package. It is a nice, clean, budget oriented place to stay. I would stay there again. The only complaint I have is the coffee served at the complimentary breakfast was not good.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Need to enforce rules on noise"
The stay would have been fine except for the kids running trough the halls at until 11 PM. I have kids too and if I were told that they had to be respectful after hours they certianly would be, but the management would do nothing about the noise. Given how thin the walls are at this place seems that some rule about noise would be appropirate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfortable Room, Free upgrade"
had to cut my stay short, but the room was pretty good. the furniture was well worn, but comfortable. the bed was the perfect softness. Room had a nice window seat knook that was comfortable and had a nice view of the surrounding area. Good little coffee stand out front. the wireless was to weak for my iPad but my laptop worked well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
