"Mess Up at Check in time"
We got there at 12:00 Noon, parked the car, left our bags with the hotel staff, went to the Bruins game. Got back to the hotel at 5:15 to check in and they told us that it would be another 45 minutes before our room was ready. The check in time was 3:00 pm. Their excuse was that they were very busy. The offered to comp us breakfast, but didn;t check […] our hotel reservation to see we had already bought the breakfast package. The hotel staff really did nothing to make the situation any better. Plenty of other hotel choices within the general vicinity. Very disappointed with the Boxer Hotel and staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Historic Boston hotel"
It was a very clean hotel with great staff. I live in the Boston area, and therefore i didn't expect a large room as it is in an older building, but they seemed to put too much furniture in the room so it was incredibly difficult to move around from one side of the room to the other. The bathroom was fairly large though, and all common areas of the […] hotel were very nice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"all in all, pretty nice place!"
The free breakfast was very slow, consequently very crowded! There was only one wait person on staff and she had her hands full. almost seemed like the hotel was totally unprepared for our visit. Same withthe valet service. It took 45 minutes to get our car.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Room was great but service was outrageous"
My first impression of the hotel was fantastic. When we checked in the hotel staff was friendly, accommodating and helpful. Room was beautiful. However the next morning of our stay--it was a completely different story. We went to get breakfast and the service in the hotel restaurant was actually unbelievable. There was one waitress for the entire restaurant, […] though there were only 5 or so groups. Having been a server previously, I know it can be stressful but 5 tables is nothing. We waited over 40 minutes before the waitress gave us menus (after she asked for our order and we told her we never saw a menu). It took another 25 before we ordered coffee (and water that was never delivered) and meals. We weren't given silverware, set ups, napkins or even sugar for the coffee and food. Our orders were wrong, food came out cold--all with no acknowledgement from the management staff. Very disappointing. After a failed breakfast, we were informed it would be 2 hours for valet to pull up our car with no explaination. I asked for my keys and went to find the car myself. The location of which was not recorded on the valet ticket by the hotel, and was not even on the level I was informed about, so I walked around the garage freeze for 20 minutes. All in all--worst possible experience. I felt like I was in a National Lapoon movie. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"One night stay Close to TD garden"
Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was small but nice and cozy. Charming for overnights.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very close to TD Bank Garden, only a few minutes walk from Fanuiel Hall. Nice little hotel. However we had a room right next to the elevator and every time the elevator moved we could hear it. Also has very thin walls, which meant everyone waiting for the elevator sounded like they were in our room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed at the Boxer for one night. Spent weekend in Boston to see the Bruins and American Idiot @ Boston Opera house. I thought the location was great; close to everything including good restaurants, museums and pubs/ bars. The staff were quite friendly and we were able to check into our room very early...11:15 am on a Saturday! (Normal check-in […] is 3 pm). The room was a little snug but not a big deal since we were not in our room much anyway. Overall a good place to stay if in Boston for a few days. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful and clean hotel close to the TD Garden"
Stayed in the Boxer after attending a Celtics game at the TD Garden. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and very very clean. Our room was relatively small, but so comfortable! It took us 2 minutes to walk to the Garden, which couldn't have been more convenient. The hotel staff was also very kind and helpful. Breakfast is amazing and they're accommodating […] to allergies. went to celtics game and PERFECT location. literally 2 minute walk. Meal on Friday night was great. Breakfast the next morning was exceedingly disappointing. "Great hotel, in a perfect location"
This hotel is perfect for whatever you're looking to do in Boston. We have stayed here several times after going to a Bruins or Celtics game. Recently we stayed there and walked over to the North End for a wonderful dinner. I would highly recommend this hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Comfortable, clean, and close to TD Garden."
Great choice for attending an event at the Garden. Also just a short walk to Faneuil Hall. Great room, fresh breakfast, friendly staff. We are a family of four (two teens), so the room was a little tight, but all the good qualities made it bearable. Would definitely choose this hotel again.Genuine Expedia guest review
What a wonderful location! Easy walking distance to Quincy Market, the North End and Beacon Hill and mass transit. Service was excellent and friendly from the time we walked in the door. Can't wait to go back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Basically tripping over luggage everyday my room# 904 should be for one bed not a double bed. Everything else was greatGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very close to TD Garden and Quincy Market"
The hotel and location were great but service was a bit slow. They could've used more people at the front desk and for valet, especially during check in/check out peak times. Parking is valet but not on-site, so they recommend calling 15-30 min ahead for your car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, friendly and steps away from TD Garden"
We were in town for a hockey game at the Garden and The Boxer is just a few steps away from it. Our room was immaculate if a bit too cozy. The hotel had valet parking which is incredibly convenient and competitively priced (when compared to garages in the area). We had our meals at The Finch, the onsite restaurant. Both the breakfast and dinner menus […] are a bit contrive and overpriced, as you would expect but the service was very friendly. I absolutely recommend The Boxer if you have anything to do in North End. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovely room...once we actually got to it!"
When we checked in we were provided with our keys and went up to our assigned room. When I opened the door the room was tiny with a bunk bed in the corner. I had booked a room with two Double Beds so I knew we had been given the wrong room. I went back down to the front desk and dealt with a different front desk staff person and I explained the whole […] issue to them and was told by another staff person who had been listening in to my conversation that they were fully booked and had to rearrange some guests rooms. I found it interesting that nothing was mentioned to me during the check in process and I said that this was not acceptable as I had booked months ago and wanted my double room. The staff person just kept saying that there was nothing she could do and apologized for the inconvenience. I did not accept this response and stated that something would need to be done as I was not sleeping in bunk beds when I booked two double beds. The staff person then said she would look into what she could do and asked me to wait in the lobby. About 5 mins. later she returned and said she was able to "accommodate me" and moved me to a room with two double beds. We went up to our new assigned room and the keys did not work. I returned to the front desk and the keys then had to be reprogrammed. The staff person then accompanied us to our room to ensure the keys worked. Once in the room that we actually booked and paid for we were happy with our surroundings. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Reasonably priced and close to great restaurants"
This hotel is about 3 blocks from the North Station subway stop, which is on the Green and Orange lines, so it is easy to get around town. The hotel is clean and modern. "Perfect for a long weekend!"
We were visiting for a Friday night Celtics game - couldn't be a better location for the TD Garden. It is right around the corner and about a 2 minute walk. As for other areas of Boston, it is a little out of the way, but easy access to the Freedom Trail, the North End and Beacon Hill if you don't might a few blocks of walking. Unfortunately, our reservation […] for the first night got overbooked so the hotel staff reimbursed us for that night and sent us around the block to a neighboring hotel. It was a disappointment and a huge inconvenience to walk our luggage across multiple busy streets. The staff took care of it but the customer service could have been better. Once we were finally in our room, we couldn't have been happier. Beautiful views (9th floor) and comfortable bed and great amenities. Very small, but you can't expect much in a historic building in Boston. We had trouble ordering room service as well but again, the staff took care of it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice to stay but avoid the restaurant"
We had a nice three night stay here. The location is very convenient to transportation, and you can easily walk downtown, too. The room was nice and comfortable (especially the comforter). "Nice hotel, but completely irresponsible"
While the Boxer is comfortable and clean, my experience was dominated by the fact that the housekeeping staff threw out an important notebook of mine, with 3 months of research notes, while cleaning. They were sorry -- but there was nothing that they could do. I don't trust ANY hotel that throws out guest possessions that aren't in the trash.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Spartan Race Vacation"
We choose Boxer because it was in the right location and the price was right. It was close to the T and the North End. We had friends and family meet us there and there was a parking lot one block down from hotel and then took the T down to Fenway for the race.Genuine Expedia guest review

I really liked this hotel. Although the rooms were a bit small, they were done up well and very comfortable. Management was quite helpful and pleasant. The Finch (Bar/Restaurant) is a delight.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
we were in boston for 1 night to see a concert at the TD gardens. Location was excellent. the staff were helpful and informative. The room was expensive and the design of the room was poor. The bed sits on a platform that is wider than the bed. needless to say both my husband and myself kept hitting our shins on the corners. the open closet, while stylish […] was not very practicle with the coffee maker next to it our clothes smelled of coffee. no kettle was available so we had to ask for hot water to be sent to the room for tea. the bedside lights had a bulb that was too dimm and it stuck out of the fixture so the glare hurt your eyes. couldn't read. there was an overhead light but that was disturbing too. the bathroom shower leaked outside. the sink was too small and too tall. they kept the towels below the sink and next to the toilet (too close to the toilet). For 1 night it was okay but i culdn't stay for much longer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect!! Awesome stay!! Helpful friendly staff!!"
Spent 6 nights at the Boxer. Great stay!!! Overall what you'd expect at a five star high end hotel, with a more intimate boutique feel. Our only complaint is there is very limited storage (1 drawer and 10" of hanging space) but this not be a problem if you were 1 person staying a couple of nights. Charming and stylish rooms and hotel, immaculately maintained. […] Great staff, especially Stephanie!!!!! It's about 10 minutes walk to Fanueil Hall and 5 minutes to the "T" their subway system. (It is very close to the TD Garden, but this can be a nuisance with scalpers hanging about the street corners and allies on their many game nights.) Their restaurant was hit or miss. Try the BLT, not the Caesar salad. The lobster mac n cheese portion is small. They are working on a new menu as we speak, to be fair, since taking over the hotel in May 2013. "A night in the city started off the wrong way"
Our stay overall wasn't that impressive. The location of the boxer is ideal. Wicked close to the north end and TD garden. We booked our room over a month in advance with no problems. When we arrived after driving all day, they proceed to tell my girlfriend that they overbooked and have to relocate us. NOT ACCEPTABLE. They wanted to put us up in Cambridge, […] which is unreasonable. They said that they would pay for the hotel and incidental charges and MAYBE get us a cab. I could care less about the hotel but Cambridge is a 20-30 min walk from where we had reservations and planned to spend our night out. After speaking with them for 15-20 minutes they said that they could "upgrade" us from a king bed room to a double room...REALLY!!????!!! How is that an upgrade? At this point I was just furious but instead of ruining our night (obviously this wasn't going to be resolved in a manner that would make us happy), I accepted the room. Needless to say, I won't ever stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to lots of sights"
Stayed here because all the hotels listed in the brochure for the conference I attended were sold out. I was a little hesitant to stay somewhere not recommended by the conference planners, but I'm so glad I took a leap of faith and stayed here. Staff is wonderful and accommodating! Hotel is cozy and comfortable. I read reviews before staying, and would […] have to agree the rooms aren't big and the room I stayed in didn't have a closet. But the room was big enough and had enough space to hang clothes for my 5 night stay. Conveniently located near the Freedom Trail, which I walked without a problem. I even walked to Cheers! I definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice place to lay your head down at night after taking in the sights of one of the greatest cities in the country! This was a delightful surprise. The room was updated, cozy and quiet. Large double size shower, mini fridge, bathrobes, coffee maker all included. Went to visit Boston for Parents at kids college -same weekend during the Head of the Charles...no hotels to be found under $600/night. This hotel was revamped with an innovative eye, but it is a little less than practical. The lighting is energy efficient, but it is not sufficient for those over 40. "Never Been There Before, Loved It"
Hotels in Boston, for business travelers, are problematic. They are expensive and sometimes hard to find, especially if the trip is scheduled at the last minute. I needed a room in Boston on short notice, and this one popped up on Expedia. It turned out to be a pleasure. It was three blocks from the T, in a busy and seemingly safe neighborhood. The […] hotel restaurant, for my limited purposes (lunch one day, breakfast one day), was quite good. The room was small, and the bed took up literally 60% of the floor space, but it was a very nice room. The internet was free and efficient, the bathroom clean and functional, the coffee maker just right. The staff was excellent, the real heart of the hotel: friendly and attentive without being intrusive, capable in running the hotel, things like giving directions, getting the food order right, having the bill ready and correct, etc.: things business travelers take for granted until there is a problem. Since I had never stayed there, the hotel was a surprise--and a very pleasant one! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
