Location.
Situated in Banff, Red Carpet Inn is on the Strip and close to Banff National Park Information Centre, Cave and Basin National Historic Site, and Mount Norquay Ski Resort. Also nearby are Banff Lake Louise Tourism Bureau and Canada House Gallery.
Hotel Features.
A complimentary breakfast is available. In addition to a spa tub and tour/ticket assistance, Red Carpet Inn features ski storage. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas and a computer station is located on site. Additional amenities include laundry facilities, a fireplace in the lobby, and complimentary use of a nearby fitness facility. This is a smoke-free property.

t think for the price I don't think you can beat the place. Yes its a bit dated etc and parking could be tight (especially if those people with big trucks who can't park!!). If you want a cheap hotel its for you, if not, then pay more and go elseware.

The hotel was a great place to stay -- a great value! Even from our balcony which was on the 'back' side of the hotel we had a spectacular view of the peaks surrounding Banff. Shops and restaurants are only a 5-min walk away. There is parking under the hotel as well as outside (behind) the hotel. There is no elevator to the underground parking though. […] If you do not bring a laptop, there is a computer near the lobby that costs two dollars for 15-minutes of use. Good location in downtown Banff. Rooms are clean and tidy, with tv and fridge. Continental breakfast is limited...typically toast, cereal and coffee/tea.Would be an improvement if fruit were added. Hotel is a little" fatigued"..particularly the exterior and the common areas...this is likely reflected in the room rates.
"Very old hotel, needs improvement."
The breakfast was ok and the location was perfect, other than that I do not recommend this hotel. Cons: smell bad, old carpet, small bathroom, a weird sink in the middle of the room, noisy, old towels, old linens, terrible. Front desk employees not very nice.

Hotel seems a bit run down, but it was comfortable and very convenient in a great location. If you're just looking for a place to sleep as you enjoy the awesome beauty of Banff, then this place is all you really need.

Red Carpet Inn is in a great location - right on main street Banff, and just minutes' walk to downtown. The staff were very helpful, knowledgeable, and accommodating, and the continental breakfast was great. The room was clean and well maintained, we couldn't hear any of our neighbors, and they even had a little chair out on the balcony so you can enjoy […] the view of the mountains! Parking could have been a little better, but it's the same situation anywhere in Banff, from what I could tell. "Great room"
We were in the newest part of the hotel on the second floor. The room was outstanding for the price. Great decor and many amenities. Front desk staff was mostly new(?) so checkin and out was slow. Service in the restaurant was very friendly, food was ok. Hotel was away from downtown.

"Highly recommended"
A lovely, welcoming, family friendly hotel only 5 mins walk from the centre of Banff. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and we felt very well looked after. Rooms were clean, comfortable and affordable. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

All hotels are very expensive in Banff... Not knowing the area chose to stay 3 nights in the area....Would have only stayed one night in Banff and stayed other nights in the camden area.Now I know... "Good customer service but outdated accomodation"
I stayed at the Red Carpet inn for one night on Canada Day. But out of my whole 2 week trip in Alberta, Canada, it was by far the most outdated accomodation. Compared to the Banff Inn (a few doors up the road), the rooms were very 1980's. Also, not the cheapest Hotel around.

We stayed the weekend in Banff at The Red Carpet Inn. Reviews seemed okay so when we booked, however its a 1 or 2 star hotel at best. Walking into the room it smelled old and musty. The King bed had sags in it, the carpet needed cleaning, the bedspreads need to be completely disposed of, and the bathroom fan sounded like a truck. Housekeeping staff […] were very loud in the mornings singing and yelling at each other down the hallways. Parking in the back is VERY limited, and difficult to maneuver in and out of. Also dislike the fact that guests smoke on their balcony's and throw their cigarette butts onto the cars below. Continental breakfast was adequate, however no fruit at all and no yogurt. Something other than carbs would have been nice. There are many hotels in Banff that are in the same price range, go there instead of the Red Carpet Inn. Read more

"Red Carpet Hotel, Banff"
This hotel is in a great location and in a short walking distance to shops and restaurants. The room was clean and spacious enough for two adults and two children. The complementary breakfast was very good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone.

A very nice hotel and ideally located although the room was a bit warm at night. The hot tub was on the same floor as my room but watch your footing as the floor is slippery!!

Not the nicest hotel available but for the price paid a great value. Room was clean with a new flat screen TV. Bed was comfortable. My only issue with my stay at the Red Carpet Inn was that the parking in the back was limited and very small. They had underground parking, but there was not enough clearance for larger vehicles, so we had no choice but park out back. Some small cars were parked there which was not fair! We always try to stay at the Red Carpet when we come to Banff skiing. The hotel is excellently priced and the complimentary breakfast is very welcomed. The rooms are clean and well presented and I believe that they have done a series of upgrades. The hotel was very easy to get to, since it's on Banff Ave. However, after checking in we had to go around the block and back to the front of the hotel to park behind the hotel. The room was nice and clean. Since my friend and I were there on a snowboarding trip we turned the heat up and were nice and cozy. We booked the hotel for the use of the hot […] tub after a long day at the hill. But when we went to the hot tub, we found out it was out of order. The first night was great, the second not so much! We had some drunk people in the hallway that kept us up till 4 in the morning, phoned the front desk, they said they already knew and had already spoken to them. I would think that after a ton of complaints you would simply ask them to leave as they are disturbing other guests!!!

The sink was in the room, not the bathroom. It was only accessible from the rear and the gutters were all pouring water right where you had to walk to access the stairs. The room was tiny, cramped and on the front of the building with the busy street right there making sleeping pretty much impossible. A friend and I enjoyed our one-night stay at the Red Carpet Inn. We LOVED the vaulted ceiling in our third floor room as it made the room appear more spacious. We were apprehensive as our room faced the street side, but were pleasantly surprised as we found we have no problem with noise at all. We only stayed at this hotel for one night but found it a great little place to drop into. The room was on the main floor right next to a door where we could easily access to take our little dog out. "Could do better"
Would not stay here again when there are many other comparable price options. Room had gum embedded into the carpet, there was no security on the ground floor windows facing the street ( except for a stick in the window frame), so you could not open the window without risking security. Air conditioner was a rattler. Accomodation had been prepaid, however […] reception took $300 from C/Card which took about 7 working days to get back.
