The hotel room is spacious, clean and well-prepared. You can enjoy a private hot spring bath in the room. The two-storey fitness room is particularly good and the park is large with an outdoor heated pool.
Be reminded that the hotel is located far away from city centre with around half an hour driving distance. Luckily there is shuttle service every hour provided by the hotel. If you look for good food, go to the city centre. You can't find any nice restaurant nearby.
One point worth mentioning is that the hotel is located just opposite to the hot spring resort, just across the road. You can probably spend half-day there.
There is also free pick-up service at the airport and train station to the resort.
Our room rate included entry for two into the springs across the road (note you can not exit then re-enter). Nice big room. Hotel restaurant had decent western food. Hotel has a very impressive pool and massage pool facility that we used for a few hours. English is minimal but there's defiantly enough to get by. Not enough seats in breakfast restaurant. No cocktails.
Friendly staff greeted us when we arrived. We then strolled to our hotel room, which was nicely decorated, and was a lot bigger than expected. The hotsprings spa opposite the hotel was a great highlight. As soon as we got to the lobby, we told the staff that we wanted to go to the hotsprings, and they arranged a very luxurious car to transport us over. The spa was very relaxing as we got to go into spas that contained different types of tea, different types of fruit drinks, beer, wine and coffee. There were some complimentary drinks that were the same as the flavours in the spa, and when we were in the ginger tea spa, the staff came over and gave us ginger tea, which was really soothing. They were supposed to do some healing to your body, and also there were some hot stones to lie on which was really soothing.
Coming back to the hotel, we went straight back to our room. The stone bath tub was really nice, and the beds were huge for one person, with comfortable sheets. The breakfast buffet was really nice with great food, and meets the 5 star standard. The lobby was quite grand and had beautiful decorations, carved wood, different statues, wooden furniture etc. The furniture and the layout seemed to be quite ecological compared to other hotels.
The downside is that during night, somehow the window was left open by the person who had the room before and we could hear sound of the buses, cars and trucks during night, not knowing that the window was open until morning. Luckily it didn't ruin the sleep!
All in all, I really recommend this hotel, one of the best that I've been to! I'm definitely going to come here to stay again.
Nothing much to say... Xiamen doesnt have much to do. We live here and have been here for several years....
The traffic outside is horrible.
The food inside the hotel is very good as is the very decent service. It is not really a to 5 star hotel, but they try to be and this makes the over pricing thing rub all the wrong way. It is a fun place for families with growing kids, and Xiamen is full of nice people place in the South of China. The resort is fine, just too expensive!
Welcome by porters w immediate assistance to luggages. Offered discount off already discounted price to hotspring park tickets. Welcome by nicely decorated swimming pool view hotel room, nicely folded elephant towel and sprinkled rose petals...
Like the shower facilities, stone-made tub - like hot spring. Hotel and hot spring staff very friendly, helpful as usual. Liked the roast duck and fish head soup at the hot spring buffet. Same or even better than 2 years ago when I last visit. Keep it up, will definitely recommend and come again.
A visit to xiamen , among other things, will not be complete if you do not stay here for at least a day and wallow in the HW springs on the other side of the highway.
This resort is about ~ 30 kms from Xiamen city. If there is not much of traffic, you should reach the place within 30 - 45 mins. The whole place is very grand right from the entrance , lobby to everything.
Pros : the hotel is just like other 5* hotels. Lots of money has been spent and they make sure they get the returns from us ASAP. Quite expensive. But if you have come so far, then it should not matter. The best part is the HW springs on the other side of the highway. the hotel provides free transportation to the springs at intervals or if you can walk for 15 mins, then its ok. My suggesstion is to take the transport so that you can conserve your energy for the pools.
the reception in the spring is also good and very well maintained. English speakers are available.. No cameras / phones inside the resort. you can park all of your paraphernalia in the locker, take the key and get inside after the customary shower. i actually lost count of the no. of pools inside, somany and in somany varieties. There are pools for many spices and fruits including lemon, gauvava, pineapple, Green T, cinnamon and there were a couple of pools which said aphrodisiac and my colleagues never got out of them till the end (hoping for some miracle to happen ?? ). Beyond a point it was tiring to go submerge in hot water, get up, walk, then immerse again in another pool with different flavour... But the whole set up was very wonderful and an experience in itself. worth the money. for some reason the fish spa was only for ladies on the day we went, not sure why. But we really missed the lotus pond and the HW falls, due to paucity of time and energy. if you are coming in the evening, come no later than 7.30 pm as you will not find time to go through everything and appreciate the good work done. But in the daylight, you may not get the privacy. In the pools, if you are a couple, dont get too cosy in the evening thinking you are alone. there are always some unobtusive guys watching us. Toilets were very clean and are placed at equal intervals.
then came the restaurant. It was a huge place and done very well. The food was excellent ( am a strict vegetarian) . Never thought there could be so many veg dishes. Many of them unheard of and infact a thai dish was quite spicy. If you are a veg guy, pls. inform the chef before hand and you are in for a treat. the items kept coming on and on .. and the staff were very courteous, professional and took good care. After the heavy dinner, i noticed that my weight was still the same .. thats because the wallet had thinned considerably :-( . but no regrets...
Cons : nothing much, but the pricing aspect, but thats to be expected , slightly far away from xiamen,
Go there with my family, nice hot spring. Share with family nice time there. Also go out for the swimming pool, nice view and not many guest. But the sign is not really clear. It is not a star hotel, but a nice family gethering hotel to stay. Suggest book online, walk in rate too high, not worth... Will come back soon.
Well, we had a great couple of nights at the hotel. Had a deluxe suite that was very spacious, bedroom, living room, bathroom, shower room, tea ceremony area and a large balcony. The bathroom had a huge stone bath that can be filled with hot water from the springs. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The main hotspring area is over the road and a shuttle is always available. The hotspring was great with many many different pools, many with very powerful water jet systems that gave good massages. Had a couple of massages in the hotel as well and they were excellent. The hotel has a well equipped gym, a fine indoor spa and an great outdoor pool. The 24 hour cafe was a good touch serving fine food all day long.I will be back!!
The Riyuegu Hot Springs Resort lies approx. 20 miles from the airport and the centre of Xiamen. The pick-up from the airport was perfectly organised. Price USD 30.-. It is to mention that the hotel staff always tries to make them understand or at least to find someone who speaks a bit of English.
We were looking for the 5 stars advertised in the brochure, but could find them. The proximity of the Hot Springs Water Park justifies a short stay in this hotel.
We booked a Premium Deluxe Room, but could not find any supplementary comfort to justify the price difference. The standard of the room was in no ways 5 stars. The room was simply furnished with a small settee, flat screen TV with various English channels, safety box and water kettle. The bathroom needs some renovation and lacks through cleaning. The private spa was with white calcite deposit and filthy. The hot spa water was rather cold and making it in winter a “no go”.
Internet access in the room is free and worked well.
The breakfast selection was good. In contrary we were unimpressed by the quality of the food in the Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor and equally of that served in restaurant on the lobby level. There are no alternative restaurants in walking distance.
The hotel has two outside pools. The garden is well maintained.
The Hot Springs Water Park is situated over a highway opposite of the hotel. Free transportation is offered every hour. It can also be reached by foot in 10 minutes by crossing a bridge. Hotel guests are offered a discounted entry fee which is USD 30.- / person. Re-entry the same day is not possible. The thermal spa is public and well maintained. We had no hygienic concerns. The temperature of the water is between 36-42°C or 97-108° F. Many pools are enriched with medicinal herbs, wine or tea.
I booked a week ago but did not get the rooms I want plus rooms were not ready when we arrived - very disappointed.
For the hot springs Essential Oils Milk Bath - it was only warm!!!! BAD BAD
For the steam tent bath - it's a joke, not worth it - BAD BAD. Other places I tried, you lay on the bed with the middle part open to steam up into your whole body while covering with a towel.
For the Satira Signature Treatment with a 60-minute full body massage using a special combination of oils, and a 40-minute session where warm herbal compressors - BEST!!!
