Well-run, comfortable, charmless but very conveniently located in the last built-up stretch of Mestri, with a bus stop in front of the hotel that gets you to the Piazzale Roma in less than ten minutes. Yes, the room is small the breakfast is normal but with the price, location and cleaness it is perfect choice.

Saved money by staying out of Venice. Easy bus ride in to city but may have to stand on the bus for a bit. The free wi-fi worked well.

I stayed here rather than in Venice because I got a great price. My room was ready when I arrived at the hotel in the late morning. For Europe, the room was quite large (two twin beds pushed together) and nicely appointed. The bus to Venice was directly across the street and came every ten to fifteen minutes, but stopped running at about 930. Our stay was fine. No major complains. Except - the advertised free internet never works. And the hotel staff seems to be trained to provide a canned response - "our technicians are working on it"!

Great hotel that is conveniently located near the Mestra train station right outside of Venice. There is a bus that stops right outside the hotel that takes you straight to Venice and brings you back the the hotel. There is a Market right next door where you can stock-up on treats and snacks if you wish, and a great Kabob and Pizza place right across […] the street if you get hungry. I expect the hotel front desk staff to be a little more customer friendly and be helpful in matters of connecting to the internet or pricing for local phone calls and so on. These are basic information sought and an "I don't know" answer both surprises and frustrates me. That apart the breakfast was good although not excellent in terms of quality. […] The quantity was excellent. Great location just across the street from the bus stop. Staff was polite and the hotel clean. The only problem was the AC. It was really hot in the room and it appears they turn the AC off when you are not in your room. making it really hot and uncomfortable when you come back execting to cool off in your room.

The hotel has just been renovated, rooms are modern and spacious (particularly for Italian standards), and service is excellent. The only negative side is that the hotel is outside of Venice proper, in the nearby city of Mestre, so there is no view. The hotel was located in close proximity to the central bus station from which we took the ferry to Venice (don't think about traveling with a car). The Defino hotel is very conveniently located near the airport and close to the cruise ships. The rooms were very neat clean and modern. The staff was helpful and friendly. There is a little fantastic Italian restaurant, Hostaria Vita Rossa, located just steps away with a fantastic menu and is also very reasonably priced.

This hotel offers great price and quality and close proximity to Venice. The #4 bus leaves every ten minutes from across the street and delivers you to within steps of the Grand Canal for 2 euro round trip and you can purchase your ticket at the reception desk. Breakfast is great and included eggs which was a nice change.

Fabulous Hotel for the money, there were 4 of us and what a friendly greeting we had upon check in, most welcome after a 12 hour drive. Be sure to buy the day-long transit pass. This will let you hop the bus (that stops right at the hotel) straight into Venice and will also let you ride the vaporettos all day, which is the best way to get around Venice (and will also take you to the Island of Murano) and to the neighboring islands. Although the hotel is outside the Venice, there is bus right in front of the hotel. It only takes very short time for this bus goes to the bus terminal of Venice. It is very convenient. Hotel Delfino is convenintly situated in Mestre, small sleepy town on outside Venice. Very simple and clean. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and nothing else this is a great option.

The hotel is walking distance from the train station; professional, courteous service; clean, modern decor and frequent public transportation right out side of the hotel.

Great rooms, even better considering the price. Not technically in the city of Venice, but only a ten minute bus ride away. Very nice hotel - very convenient for Venice using the local bus - journey was just 10 minutes and cost just over 2 euros each. Hotel very clean and comfortable with a really enjoyable breakfast - good quality food and lots of choice - would definately recommend the hotel and we'd stay here again.

The hotel staff catered to me quite well. They spoke english, helped me arrange travel to and from Venice, and even arranged for my taxi.I had to leave quite early for my flight and they even had a small breakfast waiting for me. Went with 5 people in my family...it is 15 minute bus ride into Venice if you get on the right bus otherwise you will spend time seeing parts of Mestre. The breakfast was great and the rooms were clean and updated.

Our family of 4 stayed in a family room. The room was a two room suite, with a pull out couch in one and two singles in the other. It was in great condition, very modern. Other comments say no parking at the hotel which is incorrect. Rate for parking was 10 euro per day. The neighborhood is horrendesly ugly and abandoned, but they have a bus pick up and drop-off in front of the hotel. So to that last point that is their selling point, plus their rooms are very nice and roomy. Our headache again was the A/C... There was NONE!!!! The weather was hot like crazy, they did not offer a fan to cool off and the staff was plain […] RUDE. So I will not return to this hotel and do not recommend. The luggage storage is completely unsecured and unsupervised, so anybody can drop and pick up anybody's stuff and the hotel has nos clue. The hotel Delfino is convenient....right in front of the Busstop 4L which takes straight to Venice. Bus runs every 6 minutes. There is a PAM grocery store downstairs. Rooms are clean and nice. Breakfast is not so great. Overall great value for money. Parking is available below. Good restaurants in Mestre.

The hotel is only 5 min. away from the train station arriving from the airport, and the bus for Venice i9s situated just outside the hotel. The rooms are nice and clean (the bed was insanely large...) free wireless internet connection.. It is a really good hotel with good service and comfort. Despite of the hotel is not at Venice city there are plenty of buses just in front of it that you can get and arrive in Venice in just 5 minutes. We had an early flight in the morning and the receptionist provided a breakfast for us. So, I strongly recommend this hotel!

Great location if you dont want to stay on the island! And buses come every 10 minutes right outside the hotel. I found reception staff are very helpful as to what to do in venice and they also sell bus and boat tickets as well which was convenient. And the buffet breakfast was absolutely fabulous and included in your stay!

We spend two nights there with our 2.5 and 5 years old daughters. We loved that station of the bus to Venice is in front of the hotel. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special and not so many different things offered. Overall, we would recommend it! It was good deal for the price.

There's a bus stop right outside the hotel which has a straight bus into Venice itself. Staying here and taking a bus in is definitely a more economical option. Overall a good hotel, well situated for convenience for bus links to and from airport and to Venice, a good supermarket is next door and shops and centre is 5 mins walk. The hotel room was small (box room), no microwave which it was stated as having one, only 2 English speaking tv channels which were both news channels, 1 of which was American CNN. […] The beds were not very comfortable but the room was clean and tidy. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was adequate, continental, not much choice of cooked food but what was there was nice, I just wish hotels would use normal toasters. Very good hotel with one exception that being the misarable night receptionist who went out of his way to be unhelpfull. It was the greatest hotel we stayed in Italy!! The staffs were very nice and helpful! It had been renovated in 2008 so it's still in its best condition, clean, and well maintained. The room was so big that we could have our bags and lauggage opened up and laid flat on the floor without affecting our other movements in the room!! There's bus station […] right in front and a super market right beside of the hotel! The Mestre train station, which can get you everywhere such as Milan, Rome, etc, is only 7-8 minutes walk from the hotel. Everything was great! Excellent rooms.great location with bus at doorstep going to Venice. Popular with travel groups. Supermarket next door for necessities. Internet is a little temperamental but that must be the Italian influence!

There is a bus stop going from the hotel to venice and to Mestre Central station. When we arrived, we walked from the Central station to the hotel, following the map guide, it was quite a distance if you have big luguage, suggest to take bus. Luckily we encounter a lady to direct us and inform us not to walk the inside route from the station to the […] hotel as it isnt safe at all. Taxi cost from the hotel to the Marcopolo airport is euro by taxi arrange by hotel. The internet which so called free 24 hours is totally weak and almost unable to connect. Aircondition isnt working well. The 1st room they put us in, the AC was terrible, have to request for 4 times until they agreed to arrange us with new room. Then again, the AC isn't cold and they turn off the AC about 9-10 am everymorning , unless you call receptionist to turn in on back. ( AC is centrally controlled by receptionist. It a hotel where lots of tour use their service, so its busy and could not expect much from the receptionists as they are always busy.
