"Luxury with comfort and a splash of fun!"
The hotel is great. It has a great vibe which says - come and relax, and if you want to have fun and celebrate - we will create the atmosphere for you. The room was great - I was upgraded to a Wow room and it was - WOW. nice big couch, great lighting and the bathtub and shower were great. "Modern Feeling Hotel"
Pros: The hotel room itself was pretty nice. It had a very modern feel and a comfortable bed. The quality of service was excellent. The room was clean, but I did find under clothing in the drawers of the closet. Cons: They did not provide any oral care items until requested. Slippers would have been great, but I did not request them to see if they had […] any. The hotel includes Smart Water in the bathroom that is actually part of the mini bar and cost over $5 CAD each (this could have been better noted since it was away from the actual mini bar). Great room, but guests should know that the bedroom and shower have zero privacy (in certain hotel rooms).Genuine Expedia guest review

"Cool Hotel and Great Location too."
Great hotel and within walking distance to both the shopping areas as well as the old city. Only a few blocks away from Notre Dame Cathedral and lots of restaurants too. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby but it works in the room too :-) And free coffee in the lobby in the morning but only until 10.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The Concierge is the BEST!"
Warmly welcomed @ this hot property on our first night, we fell in love with the luxurious bedsheets and down comforter at the W Hotel . By the next morning's visit with the Concierge, we decided to add extra nights at this hotel for our return visit to Montreal. he went above and beyond to give us his personal tips for the best of Montreal; knowing […] we planned to travel north to Mont Tremblant, he even called his sister who lived in that direction to find the best brunch places on our roundtrip route. His fun flair and commitment to making our first trip to Quebec truly memorable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cool hotel close to old town Montreal"
Its the W, so its modern, ultra hip and very trendy. Great food at the restaurant and a busy bar next to the lobby. Rooms are comfortable, very modern, and great for a good nights sleep.Genuine Expedia guest review
The location of The W Hotel is the best of both worlds. It is right at the border of Old Montreal and the downtown area. The room was very large and had a great tub and shower. The only downside to the room is that it is too dark. However, the best part of my stay was the knowledgable and friendly service of the concierge. All of his recommendations […] were spot on. Made my first trip to Montreal a winner. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very sleek hotel, but room feels cramped"
This is a short review: Everything is perfect in this chic urban hotel: the design, restaurant, the bars, location, etc....the only problem is the very small dimension in the room we stayed. It felt claustrophobic ...and it also felt like a bad value for our money (226$/ night). I'll go somewhere else next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was great but the room service was SO expensive!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent service, excellent quality!!"
Everything was 100% right during our stay in W Montreal. From the welcoming guy to the cleaning lady.. What a perfect HR department they have!! Personnel was so friendly and polite. The moment we stepped into the hotel, the smell of cleanliness was the first hit! Even if the hotel is not super fancy from outside, the contemporary design makes you feel […] this is what you paid for once you see the interior decoration.. Our adventrous blood forced us to make a big mistake of dividing our 4 days stay in 2. 2 days in W Montreal, 2 days in Le Westin Montreal to see which one would be a better choice for our next visit to Montreal.. Westin is a nice and regular type hotel to stay if you're not expecting too much but I can't even compare it with W Hotel in any way! We're definitely stay in W during our next visit! Excellent service and super rooms. The rooms are very spacious, the architecture is modern, all you would expect from W and more?Genuine Expedia guest review
"Sexy but dark room"
Fantastic location, great staff. Restaurant is so-so. Room is modern and sexy but terribly dark, very poor illumination and a small window that faced a curtain with pictures of flying geese.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Like walking into a Vegas hotel but in Montreal"
Great modern hotel. Very comfortable. Bars, and restaurants exceeded hotel expectations. Very central location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very chic and central."
Great hotel, amazing room. Not as loud as other W's but still very active on the weekends. So if you like it quiet after 1am, your gonna be disappointed. Excellent (if expensive) room service. Easily acessible to metro and oldtownGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good for singles."
One big drawback was the loud noise from the music of the bar on Friday and Saturday nights. The thump, thump of the bass keep be awake until they closed the bar around 2am.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fun and funky."
Great hotel for young travellers--either singles or couples. Probably less appealing to older travellers or families with small children. Very lively nightlife. Fitness facility was quite nice, though there is no pool. Also, the hotel is in a good location, with easy access to Old Montreal and other downtown locales.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very Comfortable bed, room is very relaxing, exercise room not overly equipped but can definitely get a good workout, professional staff, wireless internet surcharge. Do dress warm, weather turned a tad chilly.Area is rich with Catherdrals for archetechural observers. Business center and bar/lounge on Mezzanine were both useful. Nice place.Genuine Expedia guest review
AC was blasting all night, couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Internet was too expensive, daily wi-fi fee of $15. That's just milking your customer, when even starbucks gives you free wi-fi, or other less hip hotels give free wi-fi. Location was ok, but not walkable to most locations for shopping, etc, need a car. Hotel was hip and comfortable, […] but just didn't quite impress due to above stated reasons. "Great if you can sleep through booming club music and screaming club kids"
Spent two days-arrived on a Wed night-there was a velvet rope out front as they have a club and a lounge that is popular. Checked in and was given a room on the thrid floor. Asked if they had anything higher up? No. Got the the room-right over the entrance to the hotel where the throngs of club kids waiting to get in were screaming and making a scene. […] Also, the booming club music from the floor below permeated the room. They moved me on the second night to a higher room where it was better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Happy when I was in bed . . ."
Otherwise, I would wish we had picked somewhere else. The bed was quite comfortable and I slept very well. However, the room was beyond tiny and done out in blue lights. The "fur" throw and pillow on the bed were gross and stored immediately out of sight. Our room overlooked an enclosed courtyard of an office building next door which shielded us from […] any possible natural light. Our windows were about 15 feet from some board meeting going on and it felt like we were trapped in a sea of florescent lighting. The wall between the shower and the bedroom was all glass - which was fine since I was traveling with my husband, but would have been totally weird and awkward if it were anyone else. (Seriously, you had to close the shower curtain to even have privacy on the toilet!) The side tables lit up blue, which I initially thought was cool. It just got to a point that I craved natural light - something that pretty much every other building in Montreal has been designed to provide . . . except this one. Maybe I've just outgrown the W brand, but unless you're gearing up for a great hibernation, skip this place and go to any of the other fantastic boutique hotels in Montreal. Whatever we saved on the room rate was eaten up in the charges for wifi, parking, and what have you. We had a great time overall in Montreal and this place was serviceable (though not exactly "steps" from anywhere notable; everything was at least a 5 - 10 minute walk) - I'd just pick a different property next time. "Amazing Weekend at The W!"
The hotel is such a wonderful place to stay! They are very warm and welcoming! They provided so many nice things for us during our stay too. They upgraded our room for no reason at all and even let us check out a little late without an extra charge! During the stay they had a complimentary Acura Car Service that took us anywhere within 8km of the hotel! […] It was perfect for getting around Montreal! Also the wonder bar and toni bar had great bar tenders and a really energetic environment! A must go to if your looking for some evening fun! The only negative, is that things are a little pricey. I spent $20 on one drink at the bar! It was good, but not $20 good! Besides that, i highly recommend and i plan to rebook again at this great hotel! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Am I getting too old for the W?"
I remember staying at the W Montreal shortly after it opened in 2004. I was in my 20s and felt like I was at the height of cool; staying in a hotel that was pure magic. Fast forward 7 years of extensive travel experience, and my reaction to the hotel this time around was "meh". The loud music and mood lights couldn't hide sloppy housekeeping and furnishings […] that are obviously getting tired. Our toilet had a ring of black around it. One day we came back to our room to find that housekeeping had left our bathroom trash can on top of the desk in the sleeping area (clearly in a rush). There were enormous scratches on the black lacquered closet and dresser/desk. The air conditioner made an annoying clicking noise (we turned it off). The crowd and ambience of the hotel bars/clubs was not as classy as I remembered it. None of these issues were serious enough to complain about or to make us miserable - we still got a great night's sleep in a very comfy bed, and got a great rate on the room. However, I wouldn't ever pay full price to stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"W Hotel: always a great experience"
W hotels always offer a modern, luxurious decor with lavishing decoration which adds to the stay. The amazing service and also the fact that there is a great restaurant (Otto) and a cool and chic bar (Le Plateau) contribute to make the stay even better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the staff was so helpful and friendly, made our stay just impeccable. The room service was speedy and we really couldnt ask for a better hotel. Comfy beds, Bliss toiletries, and a spacious room (we stayed in the mega room). Loved it!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Husband's birthday trip"
I booked the W for my husband's birthday. We have always wanted to experience the W and old Montreal so we thought it would be a great opportunity to do both. I honestly expected more from this hotel. Upon checking in I asked if my room had a tub. I mentioned it was my husband's birthday and I was hoping to upgrade. The lady at the front desk said that […] no my room did not come with a tub but she could upgrade me for $40. I agreed to pay the extra $40. She wrote +$40 on the folder in which my room keys were placed in and the rate in which we paid, which I found bizarre. Friends of ours who were also travelling with us received their room keys with the rate the paid for the room written on the key folder. For an upscale hotel we found this to be a bizarre practice. Our bedding (duvet) also had yellowish stain to it. I had really high expecations for this hotel and they weren't met. I was very happy we did not pay the full price of $352.00 for the room. "just not as good as it looks"
Apart from charging almost 30 for a small bottle of water and a bag of trail mix my pregnant wife craved in the middle of the night from mini-bar all is good. I did call to see why it could cost so much, I was told more snack bags were missing from mini-bar, although we ate that mix together. I just have no time to argue for few dollars. Hope hotel […] w covered its cost for my stay. But I am sure coming back would be highly overrated proposition. And they have very good photographer, not as posh as it looks. "Great location and amazing Bar"
It was great my only issue was that I requested a bath and they were not able to provide a room with a bathtub in it. The rest was amazing amazing bar. The breakfast was overpriced and not that great and should have been included. Montreal we pay anywhere in between 8 to 15$ for amazing breakfasts and 15 you normally get the whole thing eggs pancakes […] ect... I ordered a 19 & Breakfast and it was just alright 2 eggs ham coffee potatoes which was ridiculous. And the service at Otto was slow and horrible. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Spent one night at the W Montreal and overall our stay was excellent. The staff was very friendly, the hotel was very clean, and the rooms were large (we stayed in a Mega Room). "excellent service and enviroment"
every staff in the hotel is very nice and friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was well appointed, very comfortable (the bed was a bit too soft, we both woke up with sore backs). The pillows were delightful and the shower was to die for. We paid an extra 55$ to have a Continental breakfast buffet included, that was a STEAL! The food was sub-par and the waiter was not very attentive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
W hotel Montreal is OK if your 18 years old 15 years ago. Overpriced cheese is all I can say and badly in need of and upgrade and service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Swanky modern atmosphere, awesome hotel"
We stayed at this hotel for a weekend getaway. Great central location! A nice walk to downtown and to old Montreal. The lobby is beautiful with a great ambiance. The rooms are awesome with cool features and decor. The rain shower was amazing, as you can watch tv while you shampoo your hair! The restaurant inside the hotel had some great food. The sablefish […] was delicious and champagne Bellinis were sooo good. What I didn't like about the hotel, it didn't really have a decent entry where you can pull in conveniently for valet. When you come in to the hotel at night, it was roped off for the nite club/bar, and you feel like you need to wait in line like other club goers. They let us through, but it took a minute. The bar in the room was ridiculously priced. You'd think at least a bottle of water could be complimentary, considering the price per night, but it was $5.00 once you open a bottle. That's pretty over the top, especially seeing $60 for a little Mickey of ABSOLUTE on the bar menu. You can go to SAQ and get a full bottle of grey goose or belvedere for that price and drink it in your room. Other than that, W is clean, swanky and close to everything you need to walk to in Montreal. The staff was great and the trendy atmosphere would bring me back to this hotel. "Excellent but loud in the inside room"
I reserved two rooms and asked for quiet rooms. Both were on the 8th floor, one with an outside view and one with an inside view. The outside view was very quiet but there was loud music until 2:30 am that could be heard in the inside view room. Very annoying when you want to sleep and very disappointing when you pay so much for a room. The bars and […] loud music should not disturb the customers who are not there for the late nightlife.
