Slightly difficult to find at first, but nicely updated and clean. Was very surprised that the kitchen was clean - you can just never be sure about public kitchens, but all of the appliances and surfaces throughout the room were clean. Hotel location is decent (obviously depends on what you are visiting for), but be mindful that it is on an airplane path (for Reagan) - its completely silent at night, but in full action starting at 6-7am.

Situated in Washington, Hampton Inn Washington-Downtown-Convention Center is close to Friendship Arch, Ford's Theater, and Verizon Center. Also nearby are United States Capitol and White House.
Hotel Features.
Hampton Inn Washington-Downtown-Convention Center has an indoor pool, a spa tub, and a fitness facility. This 3-star hotel features business amenities including a business center, a meeting/conference room, and audio-visual equipment. A complimentary breakfast is available. Downtown DC is awash with culture. The Smithsonian Institution museum complex flanks the National Mall. The Washington Monument bisects the Mall, just south of the White House. "Expensive, but very nice."
Stayed just one night. Cost a bunch, but the hotel is very nice. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. Nice staff. Huge variety of foods for breakfast. Only had one problem - lock to exercise room was bad, waited for 20 minutes for someone to show up to fix it, eventually gave up. Other than that, was a great experience.
"Clean and Convenient!"
Our recent visit was very pleasurable! The hotel was clean. All the staff was very courteous and helpful, the valet, the front desk, the dining area, etc. We were able to walk into D.C. to see the Capitol and Museums, about a 20 minute or so walk. In the evening we used the fitness center and the hot tub in the pool area. Both were clean and it made […] the everything go smoothly since it was pouring outside and what were 2 teenagers to do then!? There was always hot coffee, tea and hot chocolate available at no charge in the lobby. "Hampton Inn in Washington DC - near Chinatown"
We really liked this hotel. The rooms were really clean and comfortable. The breakfast was super, with tons of ideas! The staff did a great job re-stocking breakfast items and cleaning off tables. My only two complaints are the traffic noise was heard in our room and the hotel sits just on the edge of the shaddy edge of town. "Dangerous pool/spa...."
After walking all day around DC we went to use the jacuzzi spa in the pool area, which is enclosed on the second floor. The fumes from the over-chlorinated water were horrible..burning eyes, causing coughing....a group of high-school kids were chased from the area by the pain of the chlorine smell. A maintainance man came in, but didn't do anything...my […] bathing suit was damaged..it used to be black but now is grey....beware...the front desk didn't seem to think this was anything unusual. "A must-stay place in downtown D.C"
We stayed at this place during a trade show and we were quite satisfied. The room was clean. The location was perfect. The breakfasts and cookies in the evening were quite good. The service was impeccable. The only drawback was the police sirens at night. Could be a nuisance. Nevertheless, would definitely stay here again.

GOOD LOCATION, NEAR VERIZON AND ABOUT 1 - 2 MILE WALK TO SIGHTSEEING AREAS. FREE PARKING DEAL CAME WITH HOTEL ! THAT WAS VERY NICE. NO OTHER HOTELS OFFERED THIS DEAL. DC HOTEL PARKING IS ABOUT $45 A DAY. DONT UNDERSTAND HOW STANDARD ROOM DOES NOT COME WITH FREE PARKING. BETTER ROOMS COME WITH FREE PARKING WHICH IS GREAT, BUT THEN YOU MIGHT AS WEL LOOK […] FOR A BETTER HOTEL WITH A BETTER DEAL, INCLUDE THE PARKING PRICE , ELSEWHERE. "Great location"
We stayed here because we had a tournament at the convention center. Location of hotel is only a block or so away for convention center and also a couple of blocks from Verizon center. Easy to walk to the mall, good restaurants in Chinatown and Gallery Place.
"DC Hampton Inn"
Nice & clean hotel. Free breakfast is good as well...one change would be to multiple toasters for the bread in the morning. Multiple people are often standing in line to use 1 bread toaster.

The hotel was very nice and clean but the room next to me was smoking in a NON smoking hotel!! About 11:00 at night my room started to smell of smoke, it was coming in through the bathroom air vents. I told the front desk but nothing ever came of it!!

"great location"
We stayed at this hotel for a long weekend adn the location was great. 2 blocks from the metro, the verizon center and good places to eat. You do need to walk two blocks though as there is nothing really closer. Staff was friendly and attentive. Parking was $35.00 plus $6 plus tax..

When I arrived in my room, there were garbage in the trash can. The hotel is pretty good, overall, but the parking is extremely expensive. 34 dollars per day. I left the car on the street, but had to get up at 6h40 am to pay the meter. Breakfast was ok.
This was an excellent family hotel. Swimming pool for the kids. Walking distance to everything. Polite service, a nice breakfast and coffee, tea and apples all day long. There was also a great deal of storage space in the room. Usually you get one or two drawers. Additionally the room was equipped with a small microwave and fridge. "careful about the movies"
My teen who is very good with technology (of course) agreed there is something a bit sneaky about being locked in to buy a movie without being prompted on the screen to say "are you sure?". We could have argued it, but we watched it anyway, b/c there are absolutely no tv stations worth watching. On the bright side, the pool and jacuzzi were very pleasant […] and peaceful. The b-fast, while not the healthiest , did allow us to take some snacks with us back to our room, and we saw customers carbo loading their plates and bringing them up to their room. "Phenomenal"
This hotel was everything I expected and more. First off the location was very close to many shops and restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. And most importantly, the room itself was very clean and provided for a lovely weekend.

As usual the Hampton Inn name has proven to be up to the standards that we expected. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was outstanding. We could walk to many things that we wanted to see.
"Pretty good..."
I had business at the VZN Center last weekend, the super-convenient location (I walked there in 5 minutes), free breakfast and fitness center were why I chose this hotel. It's a block or two away from Chinatown Center so on this Saturday night it was pretty busy when we arrived, quite a few people were loitering outside which I didn't like with my wife […] and 7 month old son in tow. I would say the room was average to nice and it looked like the hotel itself has been maintained quite well. The valet parking did seem a bit pricey for the location, but what are you going to do? It's downtown DC. I would stay here again if there was not a better alternative. Read more

the hotel was very nice, the beds were comfortable. The pool was a little small, and the chlorine was overwhelming. The location to the museums was a little too far to walk. Definitely needed to drive to the zoo. The breakfast was really good, with hot food too.

WE HAD AN ENJOYABLE 3 DAY STAY, CLOSE TO CAPITAL AND SMITHSONIAN BUILDINGS. ABOUT THE ONLY THING WE HAD TO DRIVE TO WAS ARLINGTON CEMETERY. NICE HOTEL AT A FAIR RATE !

I was a bit nervous , after reading some comments regarding the neighborhood. However, then I remebered not everyone has a clue what a "real" city looks like. The neighborhood is far from "seedy". It is not perfect, but this is D.C. and this is not the Four Seasons. All in all, it was a very nice hotel , in a convinient part of the city.
