I think people can make the place enjoyable. Travel lodge has the best staff. They make you feel welcome and at home. Travel lodge is close to Scott & White hospital, Temple mall and several eating places. You can even walk to Luby's and Cafe 65 which serves breakfast lunch and dinner.

This was an excellent motel for the price. The bed was like the ones priced twice as much, very comfortable. Area was quiet. Breakfast was pretty light, but the coffee was excellent, the best I have tasted in a hotel or motel. Well worth the price and more.

The room was on the small side, but very clean. Smelled fine. The beds were a little on the firm side, but that wasn't a big problem at all. The outside of the hotel looks old, but the rooms are in good condition. Clean, affordable and didn't smell. I would stay there again.

Booked in at 6:00 pm and outhe next morning at 9:00 am. Bed was comfortable and left rested the next day. Economical overnight stay.

Stayed here 6 months ago and it was ok, except for the price and room size (king bed, 2 people). This time, stayed in a 2 double bed room (3 people) and was surprised that the size was exactly the same. The price was much better though. Check in and out were fine. Breakfast is basic. Room was clean, but the beds were uncomfortable. Heat worked great. […] Shower was difficult to get the water temp just right, but we did eventually. Incredibly tight quarters for 3 people. I stayed this hotel for check-up at S&W hospital. I found this hotel is much better condition than Super 8 nearby (I stayed at Super 8 for my first visit in Temple). The best thing is the price. It is a way cheaper than Super 8. The only draw back is the breakfast.

Manager was friendly and offered add'l pillows upon request. However, upon rising next day to take items out to vehicle, I allowed door to shut and wanted to go back in but my card was disarmed..both of them. Sheets were not as clean as they could be. Good quality service but the shower was spraying so hard that you couldn't stand in it. Needed small repairs: paint, screws etc

Not a bad hotel. Have stayed at worst. The faucet for shower/tub was loose and didn't work. Shower worked but water was hot or cold not in between. The staff and owners were very nice and accommodating. Overall a nice place to stay at. Would probably use again

Room was ok. Until we removed the blanket and noticed it was stained. Bed was too soft. Watched tv on a early 90's set. And you can hear what's going on it the room next to us.

The room was quite small, especially for the price. There was no room for an open suitcase or a luggege rack. However, it was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Perhaps the best feature of this hotel is its location right off the highway AND right next to Cafe 35 which is billed as "chef-inspired home […] cooking." The room had a little damage, Could not get the phone to call out. That however is my short list if complaints, staff was great room was clean and comfortable and all shopping eating etc within minutes of location I liked it I'd go back.

Good location for what we needed. Check in was friendly and fast. Parking wasn't a problem but the grounds reminded me of a horror movie back in the 70's. It wasn't trashy or anything, just dated and on the ground level. Upon entering, was taken aback at the small size, but it was clean and well appointed. King bed was clean and comfortable with fluffy […] pillows. Had one nightstand. Round table with 2 chairs, a dresser with a flatscreen with good cable. Microwave, fridge, clock, iron and board and coffee maker all worked fine. A/c was great! Didn't try the breakfast, but the area looked like they served the basics. Vanity was seperate. Shower had hot water and good pressure but "squealed" the entire time and around the shower head on the wall the paint had bubbled up and was peeling. More of an eyesore than anything. Next to Luby's. For the size of the room and the age of the property, I thought the rate should have been a bit lower, but overall got a good night's sleep and had no problems at all. Read more

It is sure they are working on fixing up this hotel, The staff was very nice, and I am not sure if the room I had was re-done or part re-done the air conditioner was as cold as can be, The walls were peeling and dirty. the first night the bed was colapsed in the middle but they fixed it the next day.

We had to live there for like 2 months because if my hubby's job. And we always go back. It's quite, right there on 35. Target heb and Walmart are pretty close. Lots of restraunts around. I wish I had more to do at the hotel like a pool or a fitness center or something.

We stopped on our way to Lubbock and this place was perfectly acceptable, the room was clean, staff nice, and we ordered pizza and it was delivered really quick from Dominoes. Great value for the price, will stay again on my way to Tech. Bfast and coffee in the lobby too, can't beat that.

We arrived late in the evening and followed a sign stating Travelodge to end up in something else's parking lot. The frontage road is not well lit. Drove a bit further to find the Travelodge looking like a hole from the forties. All flat rooms around a lot. The manager got us checked in fast and to a nearby room. Walked in to find a clean room with […] up-to-date furnishings. No moldy old smell like I've smelled before. The breakfast in the morning was limited to pastries and juice, but we were not planning to eat at the hotel. Overall a pleasant stay. Needed somewhere quick to stay at late at night. Very easy access and convenient. Room was very clean and neat. Only thing I didn't like is that they don't accept pets.
