"OK motel, nothing special"
dated facilities, offered continental breakfast outside the town, not really close to/walking distance from activitiesGenuine Expedia guest review
"Just okay place on the coast"
Best part was that we could walk down to the ocean from our room. Motel is simply dated and barring some renovations, there's not much to more to say.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location between Fort Bragg and Mendocino"
Located in a quiet area just south of Fort Bragg, this is a good place to stay if you don't want to be right in Fort Bragg or pay Mendocino prices. It was a quiet area and an older motel but met our needs. Be sure to take the path down to the the beautiful beach which is a gem. There is even a little cave.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Kind of disappointing"
The place is old and kind of run down. The beds are not comfortable and sheets were thread bare. Shower had no water pressure and you could not get a constant temperature.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Road Tripper's delight"
I went on a 4 day road trip through northernmost CA and this was my stopover in Fort Bragg. I liked the place. My room was close enough to the office to pick up the WiFi. I did not sample the restaurant but did get some great photos on the beach at sunset.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great little spot"
This is an older motel on the south side of Fort Bragg. The staff were very friendly, the rooms are very large and and ours had a king size bed. There is also a private beach a short walk away.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room really smelled bad, moldy. Overall hotel has seen better days. Could be very nice place if a little upkeep happened.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice room but could use better pillows!"
Beach is a short walk away, but ocean is pretty rough. Good for divers.Genuine Expedia guest review
Old and very tired property. Everything else in Ft Bragg was booked.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient motel for North Coast area"
Manager very accomodating; standard rooms next to Rte1 acceptable; good location for exploring Fort Bragg area. Good restaurants close by in Noyo Harbor area.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was clean but could really use some updating. A new bedspread would be nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
spectacular private beach, room was comfortable and spacious and very quietGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dated and Isolated"
We needed a cheap place to stay while we took care of some family business and needed to coordinate services. There is no cell phone service here, which is common in the area, and would have been okay if the internet were working in the rooms and we could skype or email. It made our tasks that much more cumbersome. The rooms are very old and tired. […] The screen door kept falling off, the toilet paper holders were broken etc. Minimalist towels and toiletries. On the plus side, the location is nice. A short scenic walk to the beach. The fridge, microwave and tv were new and worked. Beds were surprizingly comfy. In short, stay inside city limits for cell service and there are better places to stay that are budget friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice walk to the beach"
This is a has-been motel. in a nice location. It is about two miles south of Fr. Bragg. Our room had an ocean view, and the walk down to the beach was nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the beach"
This is a nice hotel. It was a bit far was the town of Fort Bragg (to the south). Staff was nice, room was good. I would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
our room smelled really bad, i had to go to CVS and buy febreeze and spray the room. the tv is really small. the room gets really hot cause the sun comes in strong. Very disappointed. the towels werent even switched out and not all the garbage cans were emptiedGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was in ok condition but a bit run down. I had problems getting the back sliding door to stay locked and the bathroom was in need of renovations. Continental breakfast was in a small location and had minimal options. Walls are thin, I could hear the next room a little to well.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was alright. In the perfect spot, had its own private beach, and was clean enough. breakfast was some toast and coffee, but for the price it was a really good deal. would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location. Reasonable rates. Poor maintenance"
Enjoyed location, but there was a used towel in bathroom, faucet stuck, metal insert kept falling off of faucet. Some routine maintenance needed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was a little older, but the staff were super friendly and if you get a beach view room, the view is gorgeous! An xxcellent value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We enjoyed our stay. Old but well maintained.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"My first visit to Fort Bragg"
My best friend and I came to Ft. Bragg to visit Glass Beach for the first time. Ft. Bragg seems to be a very expensive place (motel 6 was $80!) to stay over at, which I why I chose Pine Beach Inn. The room was clean and comfortable. It had a mini frig and microwave, but no coffee maker. What was really nice was that the room had a sliding glass door […] which was wonderful to vent the room as well as bring the outdoors inside. I'm not sure if we had neighbors, but this was the most quiet motel I've ever stayed at. The bed was also the third most comfortable bed I've slept in. The light continental breakfast consisted of coffee, ceral and/or bread/toast. They have a very nice beach and a few tide pools (when the tide is low of course). The only things I can say were a bit negative: the bathroom was a bit tiny and the fan in the closet was in DESPERATE need of a cleanning. There is no way I would have turned on the fan if we needed it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very close to beach but no view from room"
Unfortunately, we were traveling in the middle of the heat wave, but still there were no windows to open to let in air. We had to keep door open as long as possible and then sweated all night. The room was within walking distance to the beach which was very nice. We had ordered a king size bed but ended up with a queen. Not very comfortable. If close […] to the beach is most important on your list then this is the place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Poor room service. No picnic tables. No outdoor chairs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"beach access motel"
Easy access to beach. Room is large. Breakfast is very basic and do not have enough space for breakfast, pricy for the motel roomGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the wedding"
It is close to the beach, close to restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Shabby But Clean"
I checked in in the late afternoon, the crew at the desk was pleasant but a bit disorganized. I was the only person staying in the building, which was a bit creepy. The room was old and shabby but clean, looking out on an unmown lawn and old fence. The only thing I liked about staying here was that there was a pretty good Thai restaurant next door. […] I had to drink a couple of glasses of wine to forget about the room I was going back to. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not a clean hotel: dirty bathroom and dirty sheets that smelled like body odor. Staff was also not knowledgable with hotels.com booking. Continental breakfast was stale cereal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap, dirty hotel."
Not clean, rude employees. Everything was falling apart. The "free breakfast" was a complete joke.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Quaint but Flawed"
The decor of this hotel was quaint but the towels were worn thin and there was no cell phone or wireless reception. We called the front desk to make a long distance phone call but were told that was not possible. Sink leaked too buy they do have a nice private beach.Genuine Expedia guest review
"If you are allergic to mold do not stay here !"
Nice location but unfortunately the room smelled strongly of mold or mildew. After one night in the room all of my clothes had taken on the smell and I had to wash and air out everything in my suitcase. I would not stay there again and do not think it deserves 3 stars.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean and quiet"
This was a nice Hotel/Inn with two really friendly gentlemen at the check in desk. We had a nice room with an ocean view. The continental breakfast was just fine too. No laundry facility but there was one close by in town. We would definately go back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This motel was OK. Nothing special, but not a dump either.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice beach, scruffy hotel."
This is an older hotel. That would be fine but it is rather dilapidated. It took a while to figure out that the hot and cold water are reversed. The toilet paper bars are gone so the paper sits on the tank of the toilet. The toilet tank lid doesn't match so there are gaps at the corners. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The linens are rather […] old and worn, but still usable. There is a nice beach, which is shared with a few houses. This could be a good hotel for families, with the large lawns and nice beach. The price seems high for the quality of room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Shabby (Not Shabby Chic)"
Even though many items were fine, the actual "condition" of the room was very poor. For instance, the lamp shades were torn and dirty; the walls needed a good scrubbing or painting; the curtains needed to be replaced and the towels reminded me of my cleaning rags. But on the other hand, the bed was quite comfortable and the room was clean (I didn't […] mind walking on the rug with my bare feet). Pine Beach would be a great place if they just spent a little money sprucing up the rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs major overhaul"
This place needs a major overhaul. It's an older place from the 30's (from what I understand) but it needs renovations. Not that it has to look new but at least have a standard theme. It could do wonders for that place. It has no internet service or at least it wasn't working, Its just run down. The ocean view is not really an ocean view . Its a view […] of a cove that leads to an ocean which you really cant view unless your at the right angle. I paid for queen size beds but it felt and looked more like full size beds. There was a very old tube type 19" tv but it did have dish network. No cellular service in room either (which was nice really) so if your on a business trip and need to maintain contact it isn't gonna happen. I paid a significant amount of money for one night on a Wednesday making it kinda pricey for the quality of the place. I wouldn't stay here again as there are far better places 5 miles north of it and roughly the same price with better ocean views. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great family hotel, awsome private beach"
Myself, my mom, wife, son, and nephews took an overnite trip to Fort Bragg. We stayed at the Pine Beach Inn. When we walked in, the room was huge. We had two double beds, plenty of space, and a nice back patio with a grassy area for the kids to run and play. The private beach was amazing and secluded. The only downfalls were the beds were really uncomfortable, […] and the contenintal breakfast was weak. Overall the stay was nice and a good time was had by all. "In Need of Housekeeping and Maintenance"
The location and view of the ocean from the top floor is great. But the Inn needs lots of cleaning and repairs. Examples; the door dead-bolt didn't work, the toilet barely flushed, the lights were too dim to read by (all interior lights were "high efficiency" but very dim), there was rust on the metal stair supports and there was accumulated dirt piles […] in some of the corners. The free breakfast was very poor with no pastry and the other choices were very limited. This used to be a top-notch Inn and could be again with lots of needed repairs and cleaning. "Fun but Funky"
We we celebrating a lost life and the features we did like were the private beach and flower patch. They had day use tennis rackets and balls to play around with. It was nice to lay in bed and look and the ocean. The place needs a face lift. It is out dated and needs new bedding. No coffee in the room but there is some in the lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet Ft. Bragg Get-Away"
Great quiet hotel with lovely service. Walk to a secluded beach or have a bbq. What more can you ask for?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sea adventure hotel"
I met deep scuba divers with their sea catches of abolone, and sea urchins. I was exciting!Genuine Expedia guest review
My girlfriend and I booked a room in April for a weekend getaway in the area. The beds were rock-hard, the carpets stank, and the bathroom was dirty. The experience was so awful, we ended up checking out that night and checking into another hotel. NOT worth the money. Only book if you are desperate.Genuine Expedia guest review
"overpriced, poorly maintained"
When the other reviewers are saying that the hotel is old and run-down, they were not kidding. The quality of the rooms was below par: the bathroom tub had the enamel peeling off. We got the ocean view rooms which were a joke (you can see ocean on one side when you step out to balcony). Only ocean view, there is no ocean access. I wish we had stayed […] in a place in Fort Bragg. Pine beach inn needs to seriously upgrade its rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"No Cells, No WiFi"
We found the location quite easily. Check in was fast, since we had used Hotels.com for payment. The room they originally assigned us was upstairs, but they quickly changed us to downstairs at our request. The rooms are old, and have a musty damp smell, but they were clean. We did discover that there was no reception for our cell phones (except every […] now and then 1 bar would show up and maybe a text would come through) and there was no WiFi available (which wasn't all that necessary). We had to drive into Fort Bragg or down to Mendocino to get phone connection. This was totally inconvenient since our family had been spread out in the area for our daughters wedding, so communication was lost. I wouldn't stay there again. I would pay more money and get a room in town, either way. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The room is disabled accessible but not the lobby."
My wife and I stayed at the Pine Beach Inn for an anniversary trip. The Inn is not well lit, we arrived late in the evening and almost drove by. Since the lobby is about 2 feet above grade, the manager had to come to me as I am unable to use stairs and they don't have a ramp. There is a newish appearing ramp in front of the room and the doors were wide […] enough. The linens didn't match and the bed didn't seem to fit the platform. The fridge in the room ran about 5 minutes out of every 15 but stayed warm. All in all, it looks like the place hadn't been updated in quite a while. The staff were friendly and helpful which is why they didn't get a lower overall grade. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old, run down, but friendly"
The staff was very kind in allowing us to check out a day early without penalty, so I give them props for that, but overall the hotel was not in great shape. The housekeeping staff definitely needs to do a better job! Old chip on the floor, carpet needs cleaning BAD, just overall dingy and old. Needs a face lift badly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Poor quality, good beach."
stayed 6 nights along the coast from oregon to SF area...different hotel each night, this was the worst of them al. the TV was very small, the bedding on the beds looked very dated and the sheets at night would pull up off the matress and bunch up under you...the elastic was worn out? they looked like something your grandma had for 50 years. the bathroom […] was tiny, and not enough counter space for two girls.... the shower had only a flimsy curtain of plastic, and was tiny it self...this made for water all over the floor, and hard for someone to be using the sink while the shower right at your back, you would be getting wet on your feet. No restaurant quide or local info in the room....and poor cell. couldn't hold a call to talk to my husband back home. good....nice beach, cove. short walk down. we were the only ones there when we went for two hours in the afternoon...so that was a nice place to run and play.
