"Comfy, reasonable pleasant stay"
Pine Beach Inn has been around for years and you can tell, but it's a lovely place to stay while in Fort Bragg. There is a tennis court (they'll loan you rackets) and a private beach a five minute walk from the rooms. There is also a really tasty Thai restaurant located in the same parking lot. Staff is always friendly and welcoming and it's the best […] priced hotel in the area. We stay every time we go there. Give it a shot! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The Inn is a great location. I stayed with my family and we really enjoyed the yard area and the beach access. The price was extremely reasonable for what we received. I would definitely return and next time bring food to bbq. Good times and great price!Genuine Expedia guest review
"An old motel with a nice private beach"
Their pre-visit phone call and check in was teriffic. The location was just a few miles south of town so was very quiet and peaceful. We were upgraded to a "suite" which had 3 beds and 1 bathroom. Other hotel suites usually have 2 bathrooms so that was a disappointment to share with everyone. The building was old as were the furnishings and faint old […] odor. My dogs did not want to sleep on the bedspreads, only the floor. There was no kitchen, only a mini frig and microwave so bring your own utinsils and cups. Beds were very hard and chairs were very soft. Heaters worked well. TV was perfect. Windows did not seem to be vandal proof, so maybe there is no crime? The property was perfect for relaxing in sun or shade. The beach was very nice and calm and private. The price was good and they are dog-friendly so that was nice. I did tell the front desk about the unclean shower head and ceiling fan vent, and I was told they would be taken care of. Garbage cans and doodoo bags would have been an imporvement too as there were lots of families with dogs and we did not want to put our pets doodoo bags inside our room. Overall, It was a pleasant location, but I think my husband would select a different place next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rundown and old"
Good: access to beach is easy. Just 5 min walk and you are in the beach. Bad: The hotel facility is very run down. They did not spend anything on updating the facility. Beach view rooms have no beach view. TV is a 14 inch picture tube TV (very old) Breakfast is in the lobby which is very small and hard for more than 2 people to have it at a time.Genuine Expedia guest review
most of the stuff in the room worked. decent value for the money. nice thai restaurant-go figureGenuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed our stay at Pine Beach Inn. The room was nice and large, had nice furniture and the bed was comfortable. It was a short walk from the Ocean where we saw a beautiful sunset. The breakfast was offered too late for us, but they recommended a great place down the road in town where we went and were extremely satisfiedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to beach"
the thai resturant was good the room was a bit dated and tiredGenuine Expedia guest review
Not a 5-star but completely livable with very nice staff. Small but aesthetic beach is just down the trail and being out of town gives a more relaxed atmosphere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our Pine Beach Inn experience"
We had made reservations at a b & b a bit further out of town and after our stay were looking to extend our trip. We found a room available at Pine Beach for a great price and decided to book it. Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted by friendly staff who directed us to our rooms as well as additional places in town that we should check out during […] our stay. Our room was a stereotypical hotel room, a bit out dated but comfortable none the less. The grounds of the hotel were well maintained and the private beach on premise was absolutely stunning. Overall we would definatly recommend this hotel to any couple looking for a getaway without breaking the pocket books and we definatly recommend making the effort to watch the sunset on their beach. But make sure you bring a flashlight and are willing to get your toes wet on your way back to the rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Super Relaxing Weekend"
The grounds were wonderful and the beach access was down a short and easy trail. We left feeling refreshed and revived from our stay. The room was old and outdated, but the bed was really comfortable and clean and we had all the amenities, including mini fridge and microwave. Continental Breakfast was the bare minimum, no extras just bananas, toast, […] bagel and cold cereal, but it did the job. We will be going back again, we had a great time. "You get what you pay for"
Location was fine but the whole establishment was pretty old. Our room reeked of old motel smell which was a big turn off for us. The TV was really old and small and could barely see it while sitting at the top of the bed. The private beach was a nice bonus though. It might be worth shelling out the extra 30 or 40 bucks for a nicer room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Will never come back"
Hotel clerks were rude, no cell service on top of that wifi was too weak to connect to any of my devices, walked into room and it smelt of smoke it was terrible. I didn't even stay! Got my daughters and my stuff and checked into the super 8 instead. Will never come back to this place!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pleasant stay at pine beach inn"
This place has so much potential for being a great place to return to. With a few upgrades, we would return. We were fortunate the place was not busy, one night a room was occupied a few rooms away and we could hear conversation in the other room. The private beach access was awesome. The rooms with an ocean view were much more desirable and more spacious […] than the rooms with two beds. No hi-def tv, which was disappointing, as one day of our stay was rainy and we spent more time in our room that evening. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Thai restaurant on the premises was not very good. Overall we would return during slow times. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"ok for the price"
The room was clean but had old decor etc. They tried with breakfast but was in the lobby. Close to nice beach and out of town a littleGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad, but certainly not amazing."
We stayed in the Pine Beach Inn, and selected as our room 'King Bed with an Ocean View.' The ocean view is, in fact, very narrow and not obvious from the balcony, but you still get a lovely view of the surrounding area. The room was not in great repair, as it had several nonfunctioning electrical outlets, poor internet reception, and two of the lights […] occasionally refused to work. That said, however, it was immaculately clean, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and, while somewhat dated, it was overall a very nice place. I would very much recommend it. Charming grounds and rooms. Pleasant Staff. No ocean view but close enough to hear it and a 30 second walk on the path takes you to a private beach. Loved the location right on hwy 1. Breakfast was not special but at least its food. Room clean and had a lovely sliding glass door to private deck and common yard. Beds/linens outdated . Would stay aga […] in! "quaint little get away with private beach access"
we picked the pine beach inn for it's lack of cell service. some may find that as a negative, but we were really trying to get away from life for a bit. it's an older hotel and it shows, but it was still nice and comfortable. modern is not a word i would use to describe it. we booked a single king bed and were surprised to find that the room was more […] like a mini suite. there was a smaller double bed when first entering and then a separate bedroom with lockable door which had the king bed/tv. the beach is close by and it's easy access to get down into the sand. "We did not even stay."
When we drove onto the property it was deserted, there were absolutely NO CARS OR PEOPLE around. It had a very bad feeling, and looked run down and not maintained. We looked for 5 minutes to find the office, and cancelled our reservation. The room was not even seen. It just had a very bad feeling about it. It also was checkin time of 3pm on Valentine's […] Day, should have been packed with people. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, comfortable, clean"
Nice hotel, has it's own beach access, Thai restaurant on site, clean, very comfortable beds, our room had a deck with table. Would highly recommend! Only problem was no cell coverage til I drove in to town. Kind of a pain, but otherwise wonderful!Genuine Expedia guest review
THE BEACH ENTERANCE WAS A LITTLE STEEP BUT THE BEACH IT SELF WAS WONDERFUL. SO BEAUTIFUL AND PRIVATE. THE BED WAS JUST RIGHT NOT TO HARD AND THE CHAIRS IN THE ROOM WERE VERY COMFORTABLE. WOULD HAVE LOVED A COFFEE POT IN THE ROOM THOUGH.Genuine Expedia guest review
"May have been wonderful 35 years ago"

"Pretty Good for the Price"
We stayed for two nights on Thursday and Friday. It was not bad for the price because it's better kept than many other motels in Fort Bragg. It's conveniently located between Fort Bragg and Mendocino on Hwy1. Our room was far from the highway, so it was very quiet. But I would agree on other reviews that the rooms facing the highway may get some noise. […] We couldn't get to the shore from their private beach because the creek was wide and cutting across the path. On a hot sunny day, it won't be much of a problem though. "Overpriced, poor breakfast and no heat!"
Good: Fresh paint, clean, good size room........Bad: bedsheets and blankets were the cheapest and way to small for bed. My wife and I were fighting for the sheets and covers all night. Included breakfast was bagged bagels, cold cereal and milk. thats it. Not even juice.....................worst: Our heater took at leats 4 hours to get from about 50F […] to 65F. Baseboard heaters and were very undersized for the room. They should upgrade or at least turn then on a few hours before you check in. Was prepaid afterall. Very disappointing hotel, even for the cheap price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Three rooms later!!"
During the recent cold snap in Northern California we stayed just south of Fort Bragg in this motel. It is an older facility with baseboard heat. When two hours after our arrival the room was still freezing we asked to be changed. They were accommodating and the next room was about 1 hr and still freezing. We asked if there was another room and we were […] assigned to a "cottage" room again with only a signle baseboard heater for a large room. Bottom line, the room was just as cold in the morning as it was when we arrived. We slept fully clothed and really snuggled up for warmth. Truth is we were disappointed on several levels. The rooms are quite dated, with mismatched curtains, bedspreads, colors, etc. The curtains were barely operable, and were mishung and askew on the rods. The facility really shows a lack of maintenance within the rooms and outside as well, exterior paint is chipped and dull. I can't believe they are able to sustain AAArating. I wouldn't even give it a single star rating. It's like an old beat up hunter's or fisherman's lodge. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"There is a private beach cove very close"
Although the hotel is in need of upgrades the nicest thing is that there is a private beach very close. We could sort of see it from our room. The hotel was clean and quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect getaway spot!"
We loved it here. The king bed was really comfortable, and even with a bad back - I was impressed. The ocean view was delightful. We combined a little business (yay - wifi was awesome) with visiting friends and old haunts (a walk on the headlands is like a salve). Super clean, a little dated, but we actually LIKED that! We will definitely be going back, […] and will set aside time to eat at one of our fave Thai restaurants (next door)!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Spacious rooms, private beach, great Thai place."
Enjoyed our stay very much. Ate at Viraporn's and enjoyed the private beach and the large room.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was dark when we arrived, which was a bit ominous because of the out of town location. The room was quite large and clean, a plus. There is a fairly large TV, a small fridge & microwave. The bed was comfortable, bedding was clean and the room was warm. The view from the sliding glass door was stunning the next morning. The access to the beach was […] very close to our room and made for a lovely morning jaunt. In spite of the initial impression, it was an unexpected delight on our trip up the coast. "A room with no view of the ocean"
The Pine Beach Hotel was extremely difficult to find even with GPS, there are two Ocean Drives; the hotel was on the second one and well out of Fort Bragg. First impressions was of a tired hotel in need of modernising were soon confirmed once we found our room, we booked a room with an Ocean View but hardly what I would describe as having one, I expected […] to be looking straight at the ocean which it certainly was not the case. There is a Thai restaurant on site but as that was not our choice of food so we went out each of the three nights we stayed there and travelled back into town. Again Fort Bragg did not offer many higher class restaurants, plenty of fast food places! During the three days of our stay fog constantly gripped the town so we travelled 4 miles out of town each day to find the sunshine which is why we came to the west coast so again disappointing but not the hotels fault. The room lacked essential things such as Tea & Coffee making facilities which we commented to the hotels owners on departure. Would we stay there again, I don’t think so, there seemed better places in town to stay and the pictures of the hotel on the website led us to believe we were coming to something much classier than it was. Pushing 3 stars it certainly was not. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Average hotel with awful bed."
The hotel was located perfectly between Fort Bragg and Mendocino. The staff was helpful and courteous, the rooms were big but I did not sleep a wink due to feeling every bedspring in my back. We were glad we only stayed one night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This "motel is exactly what you'd expect from a motel. It could use new paint and carpet. However it was fairly clean, people were nice, and everything worked. Including the Jacuzzi tub. The "ocean view" was just a far away view of a little cove between the hills from the balcony. However you can hear the ocean if you leave the sliding door open. The […] location was 5 minutes from Mendocino and 10 from Fort Bragg, so it worked out. I would probably stay here again if no others were available. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old but Comfortable"
Nothing super fancy about this hotel but it was comfortable and quite, just what we were looking for to get away for the weekend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was clean and spacious. Beautiful view, although the ocean view was just a sliver through the trees. Still great scenery. Situated between Mendocino, twenty minutes, and Ft Bragg, ten minutes, a very convenient location. Short walk to the beach, with gorgeous cliffs, a small cave, and plenty of beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The staff was excellent. Room needs an update!"
Location is fantasctic. The beach cove is beautiful, the staff is nice and helpful but the room itself needs to be completely redone, from the dirty carpet, bad mattresses, dingy bathroom. Bring your own sheets, towels and comforters, and don't walk barefoot on the carpet.Genuine Expedia guest review
Room was extremely cold and baseboard heater was poor.Genuine Expedia guest review
We chose this place because of the price. The room was acceptable, Mike at the front desk was great and accommodating. The grounds were great not like a usual motel. The listing of bar and restaurant is a little misleading as there is not a bar, just a Thai restaurant that serves beer and wine and sake. But the restaurant was very busy with a lot of […] locals and the food was great. Very old time feeling. We sat on our patio of room 7 and watched the stars and satellites at night is was......peaceful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean but old"
The reception person was great. Very helpful suggesting a good place to eat, etc. The place is old & plain, overpriced for the stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stay was good and comfortable. Beach access is a few minutes walk from the hotel. it was a decent stay for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dated hotel fairly close to the beach"
We ended up staying 3 nights. The price was ok for the area but the hotel is quite dated, 60's --70's décor. Clean but faded. Close to its own private beach with a limited but spectacular view of the ocean. Not particularly romantic or even rustic, just older and very much in need of an update.Genuine Expedia guest review
"quiet, beach is 3 min. Walk, shops 3 miles away"
the hotel is slightly outdated, the weekend price should be under $90 and weekdays should be $75. The small beach is a 3 minute walk from most of the rooms. The lobby is very very small but ok size if you just want to hurry in and fill your cup with coffee or milk and toast a bagel and leave quickly. The staff was friendly. The rooms closer towards […] the beach have a small view of the beach, that's kind of cool. "Ocean view rooms worth it"
This is an unremarkable motel with wonderful beach access. Fort Bragg is a working class town on a very pricey stretch of coast, but Fort Bragg is separated from its coastline by a bunch of ugly lumber yards serving the port. This motel is 5 miles South of town, very quiet. My room was large, with a mini fridge and microwave. The deck had a spectacular […] view of the ravine and beach. I could sit there for hours. "Not a good deal"
The room has not been updated since the 60's and not very confortable. Light switch to the bathroom had a short in it, the sink faucet was broken, silding door came off the track, TV was a small tube and fuzzy, two plastic chairs on the patio that were old and dirty, mini fridge and microwave that sat on the floor and made noise all night.... Nice little […] walk to the beach and short drive into town. Next time I'll stay at the Motel 6 for half the price and a confortable bed & bath. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
