"Nice place, wrong neighborhood"
The room has a full kitchen and a big bathroom. They have a security guard 24/7. The only thing I do not like is the neighborhood, there's a homeless shelter on the next block. So if you want to take the train you have to pass by it. I really dont feel safe.Genuine Expedia guest review

No one was at the desk for the longest time when I was trying to check in. There was a security guard that was hanging out with some friends. The wire along the top of the security fence should have been my first clue. It was a very scary experience.Genuine Expedia guest review

THIS IS THE NASTIEST, FILTHIEST HOTEL I HAVE EVER SEEN. I ENDED UP STAYING IN THE ROOM FOR ONLY HALF AN HOUR, AND LEFT THE PLACE AND FOUND ANOTHER HOTEL, AT 1:00 IN THE MORNING. DO NOT STAY HERE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO SLEEP DRY URINE ON THE BEDS.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Broken down hotel in the ghetto"
Nice enough staff, but I did not feel comfortable staying here. Chipped paint, shady people hanging around. Luckily there was a security guard. I wouldn't EVER recommend someone stay here.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Savannah Suites Pine Street First let me say what's on the streets is a part ofthe City not the Hotel. We spend a lot of time making sure we have a cleanand safe place fo our guest to stay. We also provde 24 hour Security for Safety of all of our guest and eployee's. The chipped paint we are looking for so wecan correct. Thanks for posting your Review.
The neighborhood was not great, It is located next to a homeless shelter, but I felt safe. The office staff was welcoming and friendly. There was a security guard on around the clock, that you check in with as you enter each time. My Toilet did not flush well. The over head lights were the older florescent type that would hum when on. My bed had hairs […] in it that did not belong to me. The office is only open from Dawn to Dusk, so nobody to get new sheets from. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cheap but with problematic environment"
The hotel offers great rates. But, with a reason even for a basic hotel - spooky environment, noisy at night, not replacing your sheets/towel every day, very slow and problematic internet. The location, though is right near downtown so if you get over on the basic issue of the environment, you are very close the midtown Atlanta, the CNN center (15 minutes […] walk), to the metro (5 minutes walk). The Streets of Atlanta are not a part of the Hotel but it a concern for us since so many of our guest have an issue. We do provide 24 hour Security for the Safety of our Guest and Employee's. We are constantly calluing the city about the shelter and the streets. We would like to thank you for posting your review and keeping us focus on what our Guest concerns are, Thank you....
It was in a horrible location. The room smelled like smoke. It didn't look like it had been cleaned recently.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was last minute b/c we left on friday night instead of Saturday and we couldn't check into the Hyatt Midtown until Saturday. None the less it sucked. Very small room, one way in one way out the property and most of all it just sucked!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Downtown ghetto area"
Figured I'd get me a hotel for the night in Atlanta, pulled up to the place, there was an armed guard checking id's... what hotel have you been to where they do that??? The hotel was surrounded around the "hood".. extremely unsafe for all!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Savannah Suites Pine Street We are close to a homeless shelter were most do call it the Hood. Across the street from the hotel are some nice Condo's and at the end of the Street the Site where they Host the BET awards. The homeless shelter where they house some of our most vulnerable neighbors, I would say this is a case where we can' t see the forest for the tree's. The 24 hour security is in place for the reason mention in your Review. We do thank you for the mention of the Secuity which is place for the safety of all our Guest and Staff .
"Don't stay here!"
I hope I wasn't charged for this room as I didn't even stay there! the property was in total disrepair, men loitering on both sides of the street outlining the entrance to the property. I took one look, didn't feel safe and kept on driving!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Know What You're Getting Into and You'll Be Fine"
This is a decently kept suite style hotel located in walking distance to public transit and entertainment districts. The price can't be beat. There has to be a catch, right? There is and I'll explain. If you are used to staying in top tier hotels, skip this one. It is not for you. If you are looking to save money and aren't exceptionally picky, read […] on. For context, I'm a 29 year old male that was traveling with another male friend of the same age. We both live in a large urban area and are comfortable in an inner city environment. With that said, this hotel was just fine. Yes, the hotel is located next to a homeless shelter and there are people out at all hours, however, they were never on the hotel property or in front of the hotel. There is 24hr armed security and they did an excellent job. I found the officers to be friendly and helpful. I never felt my safety was in danger. The room was for sleeping only, we were out all day. This was a party trip. If you aren't used to the homeless, here is how to deal with them- they're people too. Say hello, be friendly, appear CONFIDENT, do not give them money and do not break your stride. Keep moving. Do not appear nervous, do not engage in conversation, do not ask questions or accept advice. You don't want them to feel that you owe them anything. If you want to help, make a donation to charity or volunteer at a local shelter later. Giving money directly, especially in this busy and visible of an area, is not a good idea. Response by Savannah Suites Pine Street First let me get this out, WOW. I have shared this with the entire staff and there response was WOW is he really talking about our Hotel. The onne thing that impress and motivted me most was the comment on the Shelter. What most do not believe is that the Homeless are one of our most vulnerable neighbors and if you leave them alone they will do the same for you. Thank you for being honest about the area and giving others an Idea on how to survive and avoid incidence. Thank You
I read a lot of reviews on this hotel before we decided to stay here. A lot were not so good and a few were good. My husband stayed here for 4 days and enjoyed our stay. Yes, it's located next to a homeless shelter but they never bothered us. There is 24 hour security at the hotel and only hotel guest can come onto the premises - you must show your […] ID every time you enter. That made us feel very safe. The staff and security guards were very helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable. The room had a little kitchenette that included a small frig, 2 eye burner stove, microwave, sink and cabinet space. This made it very convenient since we stayed 4 days. We were able to buy groceries to eat while we were there. The bed was very comfortable. The sheets and bedspread looked clean but I always bring my own sheets and bedspread when I stay at a hotel anyway. The room is just a couple of blocks from a Marta station. The Marta was a little confusing so we just walked everywhere we wanted to go downtown. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Better check that door lock!"
Mostly clean, except for a sticky spot on rug near the bed. The outside door lock was inactive, so it was always unlocked from the outside. The night guard is powerless to help with things like dead TV remotes, but I tried removing and reinserting the batteries and it worked. My lowest TV channel was 21, so I don't believe I was getting HBO and local […] stations. The cooling/heating unit has no continuous fan setting, so it will go on/off all night. "It was an ok place, just not in a great area."
It was just an over night stay so it was ok, but we wouldn't go out after we got in the room, the area wasn't the best.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel itself was relatively run-of-the-mill. Nothing spectacular about it, though the staff was pretty friendly and our room had a decent kitchenette. However, the hotel was surrounded by as much as four square blocks of the most unnervingly poverty-stricken ghetto I've ever seen. We were only approached by a grifter once during our weekend stay, […] but having to walk down a street lined on both sides by the homeless and destitute was not what I would call a pleasant experience, especially later at night. I'll pay a little extra per night and stay at a Motel 6 next time. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Don't expect much in comfort, but it was very SAFE"
Unfortunately the homeless shelter is still a block away and is a magnet for the homeless. The Savanna Suits has an on-site guard 24 hours a day. They check ID. I felt safe once I got there, but walking into downtown... not so much. And at night. Take a cab back. The room was not brilliant, but I've stayed in worse. Just don't think this a a 5 star […] hotel, or even a 3. This is a budget hotel. It's a good value, but you must be willing to be near the environment that keeps the price so low. The hotel it's self was fine! Security at the entrance checks everyone's ID as they come in each time! Leaving the hotel property isn't fun. This hotel is across the street from a homeless shelter. Although there were security guards on the hotel premises, I still was wary of walking out of the hotel by myself. "More like a halfway house than a hotel"
The office staff seems to be part time, but one of the rooms is converted to a security office with people milling in and out. At first I thought it was where they were passing out hookers until I saw the security uniforms. They gave me a room right next to said noisy security room. I asked to be moved, and I will say they were nice and obliging about […] that, and moved me to another room. BUT! At 5:30 in the morning I awoke to security staff pounding on my door demanding to see my identification. They had no record that anyone had been moved into that room and believed I was a vagrant. I never got back to sleep after that. I tried to complain in the morning but apparently their front office does not open until late o'clock. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Vicinity of area to hotel is cautious at best."
We were very disappointed in the hotel and location of it. I wish I knew about it's location before ever booking this. The hotel is right in same area that homeless people gather to get free foods, possible rooms for nights, sleeping on street very near hotel, always stopping you and asking for money. The hotel did provide good security to keep non-guest […] from coming onto the property but prior to being on property, I was not comfortable walking in area. The hotel also promised a coffee pot but there was none in room. I had to get up and drive to a Starbucks about 2 miles away to get my morning coffee. The bed was comfortable and clean but the room left me less convinced. The shower was a very small walk in (that is the only good thing about room - a walk in shower) but the floor of shower felt it may give way although sure it would not. I was actually tempted to cancel rest of stay and find another room but did not want to possibly have to "fight" to get a refund so put up for the one more night. Not good for my "bang for the buck" low cost. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Close to Megabus & MARTA but not for families."
We came into Atlanta using a double decker Megabus, leaving via the Amtrak train the following day and wanted to stay at a hotel close to the MARTA line. This hotel is very close to the Megabus Terminal. We were on a family vacation and wanted to introduce our children to public transportation as much as we could. Well this neighborhood is not the ideal […] place to walk with your family with light luggage. The hotel is next to a homeless shelter and the night guard suggested we not walk at night. The room was somewhat clean but not the type of clean where you want young children prowling around. The sheets were clean but one had a cigarette burn in it and they all looked as if they need to be replaced. The price of the hotel was good, when I was young and single I stayed in places like this all the time and would probably stay here again if I am by myself and the price is right, but I won’t take my family back to this hotel. "Worst Hotel Management Ever"
There are so many things wrong with this hotel. It has a kitchen and advertises on line and in a card in the room that they have china and utensils. A big lie. The desk clerk said they don't do that anymore because it costs too much to replace. The first day they did not make up the room. I complained. The second day they didn't make up the room. I […] complained again. The third day they made up the room but didn't empty the waste basket. I arrived on Thursday. There were no coffee cups or water cups. Any competent manager would go to the store and buy a few days supply. But then, this is not competent management. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
