"awesome two day vacation"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
this was a nice two day getaway. my dad and i arrive early and was checked in promptly even though we were about two hours early for the hotels posted check in time. we were upgraded to an oceanfront room for a minimal fee and the view was spectacular. the room service was nice and discreet and really the overall experience was pleasurable. i will definitely be staying at the sea crest again soon.

It was very conveient for restaurants and the beach.
"Quite impressed"
I was actually really impressed with the hotel room, it had all we needed, full kitchen, two queen beds, it was spacious and nice considering that it was cheapest hotel we found. The lady that attends the hotel is very nice. We did not receive cleaning service in any of the 3 days we were there, i am not even sure why, but overall we were so pleased […] with everything else that it was not a big deal for us. I would definitely recommend this hotel to people. Read more
"Nerver come back"
Dirty, advertising kitchen but no cook-ware.
"quiet convenience"
we had a wonderful stay over the thanksgiving weekend...the owners were there as well as at the sub/yogurt shop next door which they owned and operated as well ... excellent service and nice clean rooms . plenty of parking ,,,mostly right in front of the pool which was sparkling clean during the off season ,,,indoor and outdoor pools were in excellent […] shape and ready for use ....sauna was turned off which would be normal for the season but could be turned on for use as needed,,,would suggest this hotel to my friends for the off season and during the summer months ....beds were wonderfully firm. "Comfortable, clean, and cool!"
My boyfriend and I went to Myrtle Beach for our one year anniversary. We were there August 7th through the 11th. It was up to me to find the hotel. This was an extremely tough process for many reasons. Number one; he is 19 and I am 22. Most hotels in the Myrtle Beach area require one guest to be 25 or older. Number two; I wanted a hotel that was close […] to the beach. Number three; we were going with a budget. Number four; whatever hotel we stayed at had to have a microwave and refrigerator, so we could have meals in the hotel room to save money. These being the main reasons, it was a hard process. This was the first motel (not hotel) I came across. But, admittedly, it was my last choice and in my opinion it was also the best choice I could have made. I was extremely apprehensive about staying in a motel, since from what I have seen and heard in the past they tend to be disgusting. This wasn't the case with the El Dorado. We arrived around 10 PM. There was ample and convenient parking space. The owners were foreign, but they were polite and easily understood. They gave us our key cards and we took our things into our room. The first thing that I appreciated was the fact that the ac was turned on. It was HOT and muggy. The second thing was to my surprise there wasn't only a microwave and refrigerator, but a full, functioning kitchenette. It was clean, but slightly run down. That being expected for an older establishment. One thing I read in the review was the fact the shower head was low. If your five foot tall, you'll have no problem. However, my boyfriend and I are both around six feet tall, so it was a little difficult, but we made it work. The television had limited channels, but we didn't spend much time in the room. It's across the street from the beach. The neighborhood it's in is noise free. Either that or the motel is extremely well insulated, because we slept like babies. We were offered house keeping services for the room, but declined them every day. We're b Read more
"DO NOT STAY HERE"
My youth group went out to Myrtle Beach for a last "HURRAH" before school started. We all were on a limited budget so we decided to book our stay at the El Dorado... I would much rather have paid a little more and gone SOMEWHERE ELSE. Everything here is a mess. The rooms, the towels, the walls, the showerheads... We booked four rooms and all four rooms' […] sheets had stains. The only (and really ONLY) reason we stayed here was because of its location right near the beach. Please save yourself and the ones you are with and DO NOT BOOK HERE. If they're going to be in business, they need to step it up and get some renovations GOING. Read more
"Close to the beach, on a budget"
It would be hard to beat the price to have a kitchen in your motel room, and be directly across the street from the ocean. If you're looking for a high class, brand new room, this is not your place. But for a budget family vacation with limited time spent inside, it's great. We stayed for 5 nights. We were delivered new towels every day, though the […] sheets were not changed in those 5 days, and the floor was never vacuumed. Though I didn't request it be done, I expected it, being a motel at the beach. If you like a firm mattress, the beds were comfortable. Otherwise, they were terrible. The pools on site were kept very clean, and the grounds were in good shape. The cabinets in our room were falling apart, and the appliances were outdated, but overall they worked (with the exception of the TV.) The motel offered cookware upon request for a small fee, but I chose to bring my own. The staff was casual and very friendly. It is located on the South end of everything, so it required a short drive to get to any shopping. So if you're looking for a quiet place, this is it. If you want to be close to all the action, you need to be a few miles farther north. Overall, I was pleased with our stay. The place needs improvements, but the location and convenience were wonderful, and the staff was welcoming. Read more
"Very Nice People but.........."
The minute we walked into the room there were 2 flies staring at us. Right away we did not get a good feeling about cleanliness. the bathtub drain was clogged and was never fixed. One of the mattresses had a blood stain and that is very disgusting in my opinion. The towels were clean but looked very worn. We actually left early because it was just not […] right. The indoor and outdoor pools were nice but that was about it. Read more

"The Eldorado"
I really enjoyed my stay, especially the indoor pool and the closeness to te beach.I will come back to this hotel.See you next summer if not sooner.
"No one understood or answered..."
We rang the desk phone 8-10 times over the three days and it was not ever answered. I went down to the desk and had to write my questions because no one spoke English (owners wife had a small portion but did not understand me or my questions). Children ran outside of our room until 2 am and light was directly in our window with no cloak to deflect it. […] I tried to ask to move rooms but could never reach anyone at desk via phone and gave up when they could not understand me or acted as if they did not when I went down to the "lobby". My wife has a chronic illness and needed rest but there was none to be had at this hotel. I understand getting what you pay for (even though in my business it is not tolerated to give just enough) and I will take a portion on myself. However, if I had a choice between my car and this hotel in the future, I would sleep in my car. Read more
"Filthy"
The front desk was messy, the room was not cleaned properly and the hotel needs upgrading. Location was ok, short way to the beach, but it was extremely difficult to find lunchplaces and proper convenient stores within walking distance.
