"Very nice stay"
I thought the room and the overall look of the hotel was very nice. The location of the elevator was problematic, because I was located on the second floor at the end of the hall. Also, It would have been nice to have a laptop tray in the room. Last, the breakfast was not commentary.Genuine Expedia guest review
comfortable hotel. It worked out great for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would probably not return."
The biggest disappointment for me was that in the morning I discovered that they did not have continental breakfast. That left us in a bind. Continential breakfast is a big selling point for us.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Utah's best hotel"
I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Layton & it was wonderful. The hotel staff was great & most helpful, the room was sparkling clean & the location was perfect for restaurants, shopping & even a ten screen movie theatre. Easy access to freeways too. I would recommend this hotel to anyone & especially if you are attending a convention at the […] new Layton Conference Center which I was. There's an enclosed walkway so your hair doesn't even get messed up if it's windy or rainy. They have an indoor pool, exercize room & a small discrete lounge, as well as a wonderful breakfast eating area. And the price fit my pocketbook too! I will definitely stay again when I return in June. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nightly Fire Alarms"
Really disappointed in this hotel as the location is excellent along with the hotels common area's. The room was in good condition except the carpet was heavily stained along with the cable going out intermittently. My major issue with this hotel was during my stay was the multiple fire alarms on different days at 3:40 AM and the poor response to the […] fire alarms. The slow response to clear the alarm leads you to take it serious then no one ensured to tell everyone outside the hotel it was ok to re enter. You just assume it's ok after the fire department leaves. It is disappointing to pay for a quality hotel to ensure good rest during expensive training only to show up to class sleep deprived. "would go back"
it was overall a nice stay except for the slow wifi connection.Genuine Expedia guest review
Good stay but the walls are very thin so we could hear young children in the next room in the night and early morning as well as noises in the hall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hilton Garden Inn Layton"
I had a clean room, friendly service and decent food. It has pretty easy access to freeway without being able to hear it. Definately a good place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good place to stay"
We only stayed there for 1 night on route to Yellowstone so we just needed a place to put our heads down but it was a lovely large room that we would have been happy to stay in longer. Our waitress was very enthusiastic and informed us of all the places we should visit on our trip to Yellowstone.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Location, Location, Location!"
07/25/14 Twobrnot2b Star, Idaho
It definitely speaks to you that corporate has done their jobs exceedingly well when you find a hotel in the midst of 15 restaurants, all within .1 to .5 miles. And these are all sit-down restaurants, not fast food! Attached to a moderately sized convention center and within walking distance of these well-reviewed eateries the hotel is designed to be spacious, as the location in Layton encourages ease of access, an indoor pool, it's own restaurant, grill and bar, as well as umbrella'd areas out of doors. The entire area speaks to new, as business complexes have sprung up squeaky-clean, as if just constructed. The hotel is modern in design in exterior and interior, reflecting good taste in furnishings in the lobby and in guest rooms. The customer service surpasses expectations at the front desk, within the hotel's restaurant, and from the staff cleaning the rooms. I judge hotels on the quality of towels, bed comfort, sheet feel-to-the-touch, and yes, toilet paper! Every box is checked except T.P. Lessening the quality of that item, as well as not having an in-room safe, lowers my ideal score, but I can cope! I highly recommend this place for its location, cleanliness, comfort, and access to surrounding restaurants AND the Lagoon! Ten minutes away from fun, including Cherry Hills Campground, water park and miniature golf course. There are even two theaters and The Mall within walking distance of the hotel.
"Great location between Ogden and Salt Lake City"
07/24/14 Denys V San Ramon, California, United States
We have stayed on this property many times over the years because the location is great just off the freeway. Lots of good restaurants and shopping nearby and a nice 30-40 minute drive from the SLC airport. The lobby is beautiful, a great gathering place, and we have always been pleased with the breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant. However, I believe the breakfast is only free for Hilton Gold members, but reasonable and a good choice if you pay. Service is great - We had requested a new hair dryer as the one in the room was broken, and after a short wait, I called to see if I could come to the front desk to retrieve one thinking they must be busy, they apologized, and two minutes later, a gentleman was at our door, saying how sorry he was for the delay and handed us a large bag of trail mix as a gift! Very nice people there and nice facility and location.
"Bad week at a good hotel"
07/20/14 Christine B Tucson, Arizona
When hotels have maintenance scheduled, like the closure of the parking lots, they should notify people ahead of time so they can decide if they want to deal with it. The other issue is a rude waitress in the dining room. She seated me, then seated 2 other tables - asking each of them what they would like to drink and serving them prior to even asking me if I wanted anything. Not acceptable.
"Great stay for any occasion"

The best customer service I have ever experienced! The hotel staff were sincerely friendly and helpful. They really made me feel like a valued customer. Also, the hotel was extremely clean and the interest service was easy to access and had really good speed.

Very clean hotel within walking distance to many amenities (movie theatre, restaurants, etc.). Very clean, and helpful, attentive staff. This hotel is a very good value for the money, particularly if you are a Hilton Honors member. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.
"good place to crash"

room was comfortable, a little dated, No coffee in room except for 1 k cup of decaf,ac was a little noisy. parking was good and accessible well lit. beds were average, we had 2 queens, keep in mind we just slept here for one night, arrived late and place did seem secure and no rift raft in sight.
Forced to change rooms because they were over booked. My family was given one king bed with a hot tub and a roll-out bed. I guess they thought one of my kids could sleep in the tub. Broken boiler noise kept us up all night!!!
"Great hotel, excellent staff"

The garden inn is a great hotel: big, clean room, wonderful comfortable beds, free wifi. Nice fitness room, complimentary parking and complimentary hot drinks at the lobby. The staff was extremely helpful, especially Kaylee. Price is quite resonable.
"Friendly staff, comfortable room"

This hotel was very clean and all staff encountered was extremely friendly. Check-in was quick and easy. The beds are very comfortable. Housekeeping does a great job with a room that was extremely clean. Would definitely return.
"Use the door locks"
06/29/14 dejohnston North Augusta, South Carolina
Recently stayed here hoping for a quiet getaway. The rooms were clean and spacious. The lobby was sleek and modern. I did not use the pool but it looked clean. The breakfast, which was included in the price of my room, was above average for such a hotel, and was very leisurely (which might have bothered me if I was in a hurry but I wasn't so it was actually very pleasant). Two things were negative about our stay: first, it was not very quiet. There was no outside or street noise, but we stayed here hoping to get away from our own kids but still got an early wake up to the sound of crying babies. The other issue was more troublesome. A few hours after we checked into our room, we had an unannounced visitor. Someone in casual clothes with a child in tow entered the room with a key as if it was their own. They stopped when they saw us resting in bed. They made a hasty exit with no apology other than an expletive. When we asked the front desk about it, they had some way of determining that a master key had been used to open our door. They were incredulous that another guest had apparently obtained a master key. They offered to change us to another room but we had already unloaded our luggage and decided to just use the internal door stop/lock and not leave anything of any value in the room. In summary, this was a reasonably nice stay but I was expecting more after paying full price for a hotel (which I rarely do).
