Rooms were on the small side, but very nice and the service was top notch!! I will stay there next year again. It's right next to the star ferry port.

Hotel was top-notch from check-in to check-out. I enjoyed the lunch buffet and had an outstanding breakfast delivered to my room on a cart. I was warned about reclamation work outside; but with the thick electronic curtain that comes down on the room window, I heard nothing. I'm looking forward to the next visit.

Tip: Sign up for the Marriott rewards program to get free wifi. Even if you don't book directly with them or get poins, the wifi is still free that way. You don't need the rewards card, just give them your rewards number after signing up. We had a harbour view room that was very nice to wake up to each day. Even though the hotel was marketing a "fireworks […] view" room for the Chinese New Year, we could see the fireworks just fine from our "normal" harbour view room. The hotel had a performance on the day of Chinese New Year, and left us a free desert on our bed to celebrate the event, which was charming. The hard wood floors and tile bathroom was also a great touch. While the room was not the largest it was definitely well designed, and we never felt cramped. Made the right choice with this one. Considered staying at the Grand Hyatt nextdoor for 3X the cost. However, as we spent a whole week in HK and were out of the room all day, it did not make sense to spend the extra on that. The Renaissance had excellent service and was well maintained, as well as clean. Great location for people attending the convention center since the hotel is connected to the convention center and subway via walkways. The rooms are newly renovated but a bit small. The bathroom is also new but no tub. The staff were very professional and courteous.

The room inside is so humid. Besides, the reception staff were sometimes very unpatient and unpleasant to answer questions. Great location, Great hotel. Saw a lot of complaints about the new rooms. Have stayed here 10+ times and think it is top shelf. Would much prefer a clean, modern, wood floor room over a big old carpeted room like you get so often in HK.

Staff are excellent and highly attentive. Recently refurbished rooms are "so-so". Basins don't empty and basin plugs don't work properly. Amenities are again "so-so" - with no tea/coffee avaliable expect a ssmall vial of Chinese tea. Refurbished rooms also seem smaller that I recall on previous visits.

Our room on the 29th floor was nicely updated. Floor to ceiling windows giving you 180 degree views of Victoria harbour and Kowloon island. Enjoyed New Years eve fireworks from our room. Room was small but enough for the three of us. My 6 year old daughter really enjoyed the enormous outdoor playground on the 11th floor. The pool also on the same floor […] is the largest in HK and shared with the Grand Hyatt. It was heated but was a little chilly to go swmming. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. Being adjacent to the Grand Hyatt was so convenient and we enjoyed the dinner buffet which featured lobster tails chilled on ice or cooked Cantonese style. Covered walkway to MTR , adjacent ferry to Kowloon and free airport shuttle bus from HK station plus taxi at entrance makes transportion easy. A few minor negatives are the ongoing construction noise during the daytime and the dated look of the lobby. Luckily we enjoyed free Wifi due to our Marriot rewards card. Read more

This is a very good hotel- You can't beat the location. It's right next to the convention center and access to the the MTR and the ferry is very close. It's a bit on the pricey side, but I was mostly satisfied. The one flaw I found was that my room didn't have any hooks in the bathroom,

I stopped by in Hong Kong on my way to Beijing. This was a perfect location as it was close to the ferries, the buses and very close to the majority of the night life. The staff was incredible. They were so helpful and so extremely polite. I would definitely stay there again.

Beware! There is construction going on at the hotel. Scheduled to continue until July 2011. Construction is Monday - Saturday 10am - 5:30pm. I was told that I would get a room far from the construction. Not sure what this means as I heard alot throughout the day - sounded and felt like they were drilling concrete.

when we checked in we ere told there was going to be construction and there would be much noise. they upgraded us for that to a nicer room. but the nicer room was a disaster. the water in the suite shower would not go down and worst of all there was a leak from the above suite toilet. whenever you sat on the toilet the pee from the other toilets would […] come down on you. it was disgusting. our bathroom was full of pee from the other suite. gross!!! one good thing about the hotel was service. they agreed to refund us back our entire stay for this incident. i would recommend to others due to good service. Excellent location for Convention Centre, though not so good for shopping. Compact but excellent view of harbour and Kowloon. Lounge access a must, service, food and drinks all first class. Downside was the supposed Michellin Star rated Dynasty restaurant. Air con was freezing, service was slow and unfriendly and the food was decidedly average.

The Renaissance is well kept with modern rooms and facilities. The location is very convenient and is directly next to the convention centre. Very convenient for business if your conference is in the hotel of course. This is the reason I choose the hotel. It is a very large hotel, and less personal than some as a result. Staff could not be faulted. Rooms are smaller than others but very comfortable and well equipped. Note the garden view rooms are without a bath. Breakfast buffet is pricey […] but excellent. Only negatives are high price, my toilet smelled rather of drains (not my fault I promise) and odd wiring of light switches that I never got to the bottom of. This hotel shares a huge outdoor area with the Hyatt - a very unusual space for HK. The pool is fantastic and is long enough to actually swim up and down for those that like to exercise. For families with young kids, there is a play ground too. And what may seem like a small thing - the automatic window blinds provide perfect block against light from […] outside so if you want to sleep in, you don't have morning sunlight waking you up! The location is also handy to transport so we would definetely look to stay here again.
