This hotel was the final stop on our one-month trek thru Australia and New Zealand. It was a fine hotel with friendly people (none of whom were New Zealanders) and clean comfortable rooms. The resturant in the hotel served the best meal we had in NZ. The only negative was the location. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the main shopping and entertainment areas and inconvenient to the various bus routes. Being situated atop one of Auckland's many hills, it was a tough walk up hill at the end of the day.

Hotel looks basic from the outside but that is decieving because the staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and the towels were plush and the beds very comfortable.

The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. The room was very nice and in excellent condition. The location was also excellent being only two blocks from the harbor, one block from Queen Street, (the main shopping street) and near most transportation connections. We had a great time and look forward to our next visit.

Suited my purposes (brief overnight stay for work). However was disappointed that the TV had no aerial set up, so no TV. It also didn't have an electric jug that I could find either. Other amenities were good, was surprised to find a washing machine in the unit. Older style furniture I felt was pretty cool, and a comfy bed. Strange stain on carpet and […] a rough plaster job in the bathroom. If you want a cheap place to stay and aren't too fussed about relaxing in the room then this does the business, otherwise maybe look somewhere else. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and late check-in was well organised and much appreciated. Read more
