Bacelona Marriott Hotel is an excellent hotel

Great Hotel, good reception service, we had ocean view, Hotel easy to find, 22 floors high, next to the big Diagonal shopping mall ,price OK compared to other hotels in the zone. Breakfast buffet are poor and there are not enough staff around to clean used tables, we were there for two days and both days we cleaned the table and chairs our self.....if […] you love a good breakfast and a good start of the day....go somewhere else and enjoy your morning meal. The poor breakfast make so we were not interested to try the day and night meals. Air-condition was not able to cool the room at night. Access doors between rooms (we had one) are not very good noise isolated, you can clearly hear next door conversations. No coffee or tea brewers in room. No safety box. Bathroom are nice setup but have very poor ventilation. City bus departure from right outside the hotel, two day access cost 34 euro, taxis in Barcelona are very expensive, cost about triple than Grenada or Sevilla, the taxi from airport to hotel cost 30 euro, counter shows 22 euro..the driver add airport fee..suitcase fee...etc. Taxi to city center cost around 16 euro….12 + rare fees the drive puts on every time.. very annoying. Cheap metro train access one block away. Rent a car for a full weekend with GPS for under 100 euro or take the city tour bus and you will save money if you want to travel just a little around. The hotel is well known and situated in a very good location, just a few steps from the beach. Rooms are clean, spacious with very fresh stream-lined interior decor. Climate control, wireless internet and good choice of breakfast delights. The nearest beach is also one of the newer beaches of barcelona with softer sand (all the beaches are clean). opposite […] to the hotel's entrance is a fine shopping mall with great discounts (we bought a lot of swimming gear for snorkelling, swim suits etc. from a shop called Forum Sport). Close to the hotel at waking distance is the street la rambla de - where there are lots of authentic spanish local favorite restaurants. The tour buses stop right next to the hotel, and the metro station is also right there (10 mins to city center). A very relaxing hotel indeed! Read more

We picked the AC hotel due to reviews by former clients, and they were all accurate, the hotel was immacculately clean, the staff could not do enough for us, the location was great for getting around Barcelona as it was right next to Diagonal Avenue so the tram and bus were all in the vacinity. They had a mall across the way for convenience, a pool, […] a gym, all in amazing condition the whole time. they had offers for bus journeys around town at the desk. It is located close to the beach also, but not close enough that you are listening to people all the time. there are taxis from outside the door to the airport. there did not seem to be alot of children which is perfect if you are a young couple wanting a break from it all. My only issue, and it is only a small one, was the TV only had 2 english speaking channels and they were all news, now we only used it a few times at night, but still, and the room we had was a little smaller then i anticipated, but otherwise, go here, enjoy, relax, its worth whatever you pay. I wonder if Marriott compliance office has checked out this hotel? - Bad service - Rude staff - Bad menu (same all over the hotel, yet 22 floors with rooms - waaaaaaaaay to few sun chairs outside the pool.... Holiday people be aware, you will not manage to get one - Invoicing problems - Double charging the room, which was never refunded - Absolutly […] NO desire to clean up bill after charging our room twice (paid at Hotels.com & they charged it to my credit card) In general a very bad experience. I travel 200 days pr year and very seldom as tourist. This business hotel hate tourists and only drop prices in summer to fill up rooms. Staff does not like tourists and treat them bad. I am not going to say that I will not stay at Marriott, but I will certainly not stay at this Marriott again. Barcelonav has many other nice hotels to offer. Fantastic service, very helpful front desk staff at all times. Location great, right beside the port and has a nice mall across the road. Handy sightseeing tour of Barcelona stops right outside the hotel too. Taxi rank outside the door. Free mini bar iand use of hotel spa is convenient too.

yeap i enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Its just beside the metro stop and the beaches is just beside the hotel. if you want and you like walking try the long stroll along the waterfront into the famous colon monument, its about 5k. the hotel is well serviced by shopping centres and restaurants. the hotel itself is very clean and the staff are very nice. […] we are going back to barca and we be staying there again. + close to subway, less than 10 minutes; + close to shopping mall, you just have to cross the street, where you can take your meals; + less than 15 minutes to the beach; + touristic bus has stop in front of the hotel; - hotel side towards the sea is quite noisy because of a fun park and an ongoing construction nearby.

In overall in our opinion it doesn't provide service one would expect from Marriott group hotels: 1The rooms size is small, doesn't feel double, and Hotels.com description of room as "deluxe" does not coordinate, as hotel doesn't have "deluxe" rooms at all - they all either standard or suits. So, the "deluxe" room which we've booked initially turned […] out to be a standard hotel's room of a small size. 2The queue at the reception is enormous - it took us at least half an hour wait to be able approach to the receptionist for whatever the reason (there are more then 300 rooms in the hotel, but only 2 receptionists available) 3 The first room we were given did smell of old cigarettes (despite we requested a non-smoking room at the time of booking) and we had to come back to the reception,wait another 30 min to talk to receptionist about getting other room. 4 In the rooms there is only one set of towels, slippers and dressing gown provided, regardless to two persons checked in. No vanity kit provided. So, we had to call and ask for the second set of towels to be provided. 5 Only one clothes hook in the bathroom - we found it difficult to hang clothes in the bathroom, so we end up hanging some on the bathroom door. 6 No safety box in the rooms, which makes it unusual and inconvenient to keep valuables at the reception safe downstairs. 7 At some point we asked room service to bring us a plate and cutlery, and was told, that if we want to get it for free, we have to go to the hotel's restaurant and ask it in person. Otherwise, if they bring it to our room, they going to charge us. 8 Wi-Fi Internet from the room costs 5 Euro per hour (!) which is ridiculously overpriced. There is a business centre downstairs, which provides with free Internet, but once again - one has to queue to the reception (see point 2 above) to obtain a password for it. 9 The breakfast is of a poor selection and costs 22.50 Euro, for just a few choices of hot food. The AC Hotel Barcelona was the perfect spot for my son and I. It was a short taxi journey to and from the airport, located across from a shopping mall, and a short walk to the beach! The hotel staff were fluent in English and extremely helpful and accommodating! We'll definitely stay here again in the future!

hotel is very nice and clean in general, but dirty tissues in the pool (13th floor, nice with great view) and cut off fingernail on the bed were kind of disturbing. reception staff very friendly and helpful !!! price very reasonable, but add taxi costs and time to compare fair. on the other hand you learn more about the not soo touristic (modern) part […] of barcelona.... Very nice hotel, loved the rooftop pool and views. Our first time to Barcelona so not sure of all the areas/neighborhoods but we caught a hop on/off bus right in front of the hotel and toured all the city easily.

This hotel suited our requirements well acting as a base for our family week-end away - within walking distance of a beach and the metro station which takes about 10mins to take you into the real centre of Barcelona.The pool area was a little disappointing as it was smaller than expected and crowded when we arrived. Don't be put of by the Hotels location outside of the city. The underground train station is a mere 3-4 mins walk from the hotel and then a further 10 minute train journey into the city centre. The hotel is great although the pool was a little small and the poolside area became very cramped which in most cases meant we couldn't use the pool. The views […] from the pool side on the 13th floor over the city are stunning. The hotel was extremely clean and tidy and the diagonal del mar shopping centre is directly over the road which has all the shops you would need including a food shopping store. We stayed in this hotel for 10 days. Perfect hotel for combining sunny mornings on the beach with afternoons site seeing in the city. The hotel is situated in a calm and quiet part of Barcelona. A bit long from the city but on the other hand it is very easy to take the metro from nearby station and in 10 - 15 minutes you are in the city depending on […] which district you wish to visit. Taxis are always available outside the hotel. Furthermore Barcelona tourist touring buses have a station just outside the hotel. A five - ten minutes walk and you are on the beach! :) which is the most eastern of Barcelona beaches, very nice and clean ;). Another good thing is that just across the hotel is one huge shopping mall with a huge food store were you can buy water, baguettes, sandwiches, etc... a lot cheaper than on the beach bars ;). If I am to say something less positive is that the breakfast is not the best for a 4 star hotel (but still OK) and the hotel outside pool is to small. Better to go to the beach ;). Enjoy! Me and my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at AC Barcelona. One of the best hotel for value for money. Just near to all facilities and the new Barcelona beach. I will never stay anywhere else other than ACB if I go back to Barcelona.

I enjoyed my stay at the AC Barcelona. It was clean, pretty and convenient for my needs. The staff was friendly and I loved the amenities! I would stay there again!

We have never been to Spain before and we were a little concerned on our choice of hotels. This turned out to be a wonderful experience. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The mall is located across the street which made it easy to obtain the items we forgot to pack. After this stay we went on a cruise and had planned on staying upon our return […] at a different hotel to see a different part of town. What a disappointment. If we could of changed our reservation we would of done so immediatley. I would stay in this hotel on every visit. Read more

Excellent hotel and service, front desk staff very helpful, and considerate, making sure we knew what we could use in the hotel, and that we vhad a map of Barcelona. Hotel, and room very clean, and comfortable, and quiet - we requested a quiet room so they situated us on the 21st floor - very quiet! Complimentary mini bar, a couple of beers, and a choice […] of soft drinks was a nice touch. The only thing we would have liked extra would have been tea and coffee making facilities in the room, we really missed not having this available. We did not eat at the hotel, we used the restaurants in the city, and in the mall opposite. The situation was perfect for us, as we were attending an event in the CCIB, at the rear of the hotel. We enjoy the AC Barcelona, very convenient. Also has a very pleasant staff.

I had a symposium meeting in the Convention Center in Barcelona. The Hotel was just a few steps from this area. Was very convenient! But... During the last night (Saturday-July 24) it was very noise and the music did not allow us to sleep. It was in sorrounding area of the hotel and we made the check-out at 7:00 a.m. and still the music was there!! […] ! Read more

Situated on front of Diagonal El Mar Shopping center, 200m walk to the Metro and Tram. close to the beach. what else can you ask? In the hotel you'll find all the facilities needed, as well as free internet (in the Lobby) and 24x7 room service. Strongly recommended!

The artsy park next to the hotel is unique.

The hotel was as are many European hotels, very nice for the amenities such as the lobby, restaurant, bar and the business center. A nice pool and spa were available. As expected, the rooms was very small, ice was non-existant and the air conditioning was marginal. However, the location of the hotel with respect to local attractions was not very good. […] Barcelona has a wonderful Metro system which can take you almost anywhere in the city. Walking is the only way to get to many of the cities real attractions and even the city tour bus, which stops across from the hotel, only lets you offf near them. The AC Barcelona touts beach access, but there is no beach anywhere near the place. There is some construction going on at the waters edge, and this may be a beach in time. It is a long way as described (20km) from the airport and during havy traffic hours it can be a considerable tip. Read more

Beautiful lobby Wonderful staff support. I needed to have a large poster printed quickly. A front desk agent called a number of local printers and found one that would print overnight and deliver for a cost compatible with Kinko's in the U.S. I could not have gotten that done no matter how much time I had spent. Free internet near lobby with 4 desktops […] -- heavily used. Spectacular fitness center on 13th floor with full views over the city and the Mediterranean. Pool outside on 13th floor with views on 3 sides. Next door to Barcelona Convention Center and the Mediterranean Sea. Two blocks from Metro line that goes directly downtown. Read more

While they advertise being near the beach, they are a 15 minute walk from the beach. There are no beach front hotels in the area, all of the hotels are in an area that has a shopping mall as its focus. This is the same for the Princess and Hilton hotels in the same area. The hotel is very modern and cool in its design. The rooms are small but well designed. […] The glass sink was an interesting touch. There was no restaurant to speak of, just a nice bar/lounge for drinks and snacks. There are 4 restaurants on the terrace of the mall across the street. Super Lage, Metro ist in der Nähe und Einkaufszenter auch.

Das Hotel liegt zwar am Stadtrand, hat aber gleich eine Metrostation und eine Tram-Haltestelle in der unmittelbaren Nähe. Super Lage mit super Ausblick aufs Meer. Gegenüberliegendes Einkaufszentrum bietet sich zu Bummeln an, falls das Wetter mal nicht so mitspielen sollte. Kann das Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Kolkko betonirakennusei vakuuttanut ensivaikutelmallaan. Huone kuitenkin siisti ja asiallinen. Ravintola illalla huutaa tyhjyyttään ja baari auki vain silloin tällöin ja näyttää steriiliydessään epäviihtyisältä. Ett bekvämt och fräscht hotell med hög standard och trevlig personal. Härlig pool på 13: de våningen med kanske lite för få solstolar. Bubbelpool att koppla av i på kvällen och härlig ångbastu! God men dyr frukostbuffe. Långt att gå in till till La Rambla ca 1 timmes promenad, men bra kommunikationer i närheten av hotellet, tunnelbana el hop-on-hop-off […] bussarna. Hotellet är trevligt, väldigt rent, perfekt om man vill bo lite utanför stadens livligheter, vi som unga tyckte kanske att det var lite väl långt till centrum, och var ganska trötta på tunnelbanan i slutet av veckan. Att ta sig in till själva centrum med tunnelbana tog ungefär 15 min. 10-15 minuters gångväg till stranden. Bespara er hotellets egna mat, […] dyrt och inte speciellt smakfullt. Annars toppen! Bon hôtel mais quelques pojnts négatifs : - piscine extérieure trop petite ainsi que 3 spas, pas assez pour le nombre de chambre. - pas de bagagiste a l'arrivée de l'hôtel - pas de présentation de l'hôtel ainsi que de la chambre. A part ça, notre séjour c 'est bien passé.

Ett mycket serviceinriktat hotell, dock kunde kanske personalen vid terass-cafeet varit lite gladare. Annars kändes de väldigt hjälpsamma. Fantastisk terass med underbar utsikt över staden och havet! Fri mini-bar var ett plus i kanten. Rent och snyggt rum som städades väldigt bra mellan dagarna. Fråga efter en stör ej-skylt, vi hade ingen på rummet […] först och blev då väckt vid elva tiden av ett "iHolaa!". Överlag var vi väldigt nöjda! Enda minuset är att det tar väl en kvart med metron till "centrum", men det hade vi förstått och insett så var ju egentligen inget problem. Read more

Fräscha rum. Fri WiFi i receptionen. Bra läge om man absolut inte söker "bo centralt". 6 km till centrum, 200 meter till T-bana och spårvagn. 100 meter till mycket fräsch galleria i tre våningar. På tok för dyr frukost drygt €20. Trevlig pool på 13-vån., dock lite få solsängar.

helt topp, rett over gata for et gigantisk senter(hørte rykter om barcelonas største?) 300m fra stranden(nydlig strand) 200meter fra metrostasjonen, 5minutter med undergrunnen så var vi i hjertet av barcelona, eneste å utsette var bassenget som var litt kaldt og boblebadene som ikke funket helt dessuten måtte vi vaske badeklærna etter å ha vært oppi […] boblebadet, illeluktende :) men hva så? vi la oss på stranden istedet. kjør på! Vi havde booket et værelse til 2 voksne og et barn på 9 år da vi kommer op på et meget lille værelse var der kun en dob.seng...at dette ikke var på plads inden vi forlod receptionen var bare ikke iorden. Rigtig dejligt hotel udenfor centrum, dog kort til metro og nemt at komme ind i byen. Ikke så meget plads ved poolen og få liggesole deroppe.

Keurig hotel netjes vriendelijk maar; geen safe op de kamer receptie is heeeeel traag. Locatie is goed, direct bij het strand, heel vriendelijk strand met veel locals en nette prijzen. Groot shopping centre aan de overkant waar je voor alles terecht kan. Metro 5 minuutjes van het hotel direct naar het centrum Zwembad is grappig en netjes

Vi var 2 voksne og 1 barn som bodde på hotellet 1 uke. Fin beliggenhet med busstopp rett utenfor døren og med 5 min. å gå til Metroen. Så på 10-15 minutter så kunne vi være i sentrum. Stort kjøpesenter med tilstøtende resturanter rett over gata for hotellet. i tillegg ikke er mer enn 5-600 meter ned til stranden , er dette et glimrende plassert hotell […] for opphold i Barcelona på sommerstid. Kan virkelig anbefales! God kontinental frokost, meget godt renhold og service på hotellet. Med 30 grader ute, hadde aircontition ikke kapasitet til å få temperatur lenger ned enn 18-19 grader. Men dette ikke på noen måte ubehagelig temperatur. Alt i alt et supert hotell som virkelig kan anbefales. Read more

Goede ontvangst, men sprak telkens goed verstaanbaar Engels. wij kregen onmiddellijk een aantal landkaarten ter beschikking : 1/ van de streek rond Barcelona 2/ van de stad + volledige metro plattegrond 3/ van de OUDE binnenstad bezienswaardigheden Bij het bestellen van Roomservice had men er wel niet bijgezegd dat er nog eens EXTRA bijkwam op de toch […] al prijzige achttien E U R, voor een fles witte wijn, ... Het is ook maar omdat we heel laat zijn toegekomen (ergens net voor middernacht), dat we die wijn bestelden via Roomservice, de bar was immers net gesloten (ook vroeg vonden wij, maar soit). De volgende avond wijn gaan halen in Nachtwinkel om de hoek. Ontbijt hebben we ook gedaan zoals anderen, zo lazen wij in reviews op het net, recht over de deur in het winkelcentrum, gezellig, (in de zeteltjes) en ruim 3 keer goedkoper dan in het hotel zelf. Anderzijds, alle slechte reviews die we lazen van in het begin bij de opening van het hotel (2005 - 2007), daar hebben ze duidelijk naar geluisterd, Want wij ondervonden geen enkel probleem. Alle personeel was vriendelijk en professioneel (er werkt maar liefst 16 man voor de receptie alleen, in een beurtrol, de klok rond). + security (wat wel nodig is in Barcelona) Wel opgelet buiten het hotel en vooral in de metro. Veel pickpockets ! Hotel is wel zijn prijs waard, ... jammer dat het ontbijt zo duur is, Mocht men het geven voor de helft van wat het nu kost, zouden de mensen misschien wel blijven eten 's morgens. Zwemmen met een panorama op de stad vanaf het 16de verdiep is adembenemend, je kan de Sagrada Familia zien vanuit je kamer, ... niet als je aan de andere kant zit, maar dan heb je weer het zeezicht. Goed hotel, en gratis minibar ! (doch vooral gevuld met frisdrank en water, 2 pils, waarvan 1 zonder alcohol). Dus best even stoppen langs de nightshop :-) De booking was ook meteen in orde, alles verliep heel vlot. Leuke reis toegewenst. Read more
