On a steep hillside in the heart of the village. Easy access to stores, snackets and restaurants. Great view and village ambiance. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Set us up with Jenner, driver extraordinaire. People of the village are friendly and helpful and you can feel comfortable walking the street at night. Fantastic wine and spirits shop […] close by. All around great experience! The area is rural and poor, if you want a fancy resort go elsewhere. The wild and beautiful northern part of Dominica is simply the best. Read more

This is a very friendly hotel run by a great Belgian couple that will attend to your every need. They have gone out of their way to ensure each room is as tranquil and "naturesque" as possible. Unfortunately this means no AC which can get pretty uncomfortable during the hot Dominican nights. Its a great location near the airport and only 30 minutes […] from Portsmouth in the North. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel maintainance is slipping, example veranda roof leaking and had been for some while. There is a frustrated rooster that lives adjacent to the hotel.

Lovely hotel in the "jungle". We chose this hotel for our last so that we would be close to the airport and it is, relatively. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean. had hot water and comfortable except the mattress could be better. Also long as you are a sound sleeper or have really good ear-plugs prepare for the local roosters to be cocka-doodling […] from at least 4am. The hotel is nice and located next to some extremely nice beaches. Staff is friendly and room was spacious and clean. Hotel restaurant however is not however that good as well as other nearby restaurants. Positively you can make your own food.

I had just one day in Dominica (my first ever) to drive around the island looking for possible locations to open a store. That night (due on to the fact that LIAT didn't have a direct flight back to Barbados until morning) I found myself at this amazing hotel. There was only one other room taken that night which sounds bad but there are only 6 so that's […] 33% occupancy!! At dinner (which was 5 star by any standards) I met the owners who are both delightful and knowledgeable and we shared a few laughs after my very arduous day on the wet stormy roads. The sunset was spectacular from the balcony. The tree frogs and crickets kept me company chirping all night long and despite the fact that the water was off (no fault of the hotel) I was made to feel comfortable and welcome. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes good food, good (intelligent) company and comfortable accommodation in Dominica. Read more

It was a pleasure to stay at Calibishie Lodges. The service was five star. The owners equally so - very knowledgeable of the area, culture, island services and things to do. The only shortfall was the room - too compartmentalized for the size, too hot, and nowhere to hang you wet towels. Other than that, I would recommend highly.

Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Hotel team. Hotel liegt am Ortsrand von Calibishie mit Blick aufs Meer. Einsame Strände sind nicht weit und zu Fuß zu erreichen. Calibishie ist ein angenehmer, kleiner und eher ruhiger Ort, in dem es kaum Tourismus gibt. Wer von dort aus die Insel - highlights erkunden will, der bräuchte einen Mietwagen.

Nous sommes trés loin, trés loin du descriptif de l'hôtel, situé en bord de route, trés bruyante, piscine glauque, accueil plus que limité à 'passeport ' en arrivant ??? L'hôtel vante vu mer mais quelle vue , en se coiçant sur un bout de balcon pour entre-apercevoir un 'bout ' de plage. Honteux! Studio miniscule et vieillot , sur exagération du prix […] par rapport à la prestation. Nous n'avonspas honoré notre sejour et avons quitté les lieux , perdant toute l'integralité du sejour, sans même un geste commercial! Read more

We expected the rooms to be average standard, but where quite suprised about them. They turned out very cozy and had a great atmosphere. The hosts where really kind and helpful and made us feel home. Outstanding service and good quality cooking. The area is quite, no shops or areas to go out. even though there is a small local disco 100 m away. So dont […] go there if you feel like going out. The area is for people how like to be close to nature. There are several hikes one can do close and some beaches. There are hikes just outside the hotel, and beautiful rivers, pools and waterfalls to see within 20-30 min. drive away that you can do on your own. Besides that there are some bigger hikes to do with guides as well. The only downside of this place is that its 2,5 hours drive away from Roseau if one is onto seeing the main city and about 2 hours drive away from Victoria falls and Sari Sari. The island of Dominica is especially for people who want to experience the rainforest and the waterfalls. We did it once which was ok, we got to see the island and experience the "hilly" roads. But if one plans to do it daily it would be a long time to spend on the road. Read more
