The place is cute. The beds are comfortable. It's odd that there isn't a desk in the room; I was told they were working on that as part of the renovation. The room and bath were clean. The parking lot is awkward to get out of.

The Mariner's Inn Cambria is in a perfect location if you intend on staying along the Cambria coast. Essentially, there are about 10+ inns along Moonstone Beach Dr. and the Mariner's Inn Cambria is the furthest South. There are pros/cons to this location: Pros - closest to town, across the street from a beach access stairway, and located near a nice […] walkable section of the beach. Cons - there are 2 restaurants on Moonstone Beach Dr. One is located about 2 doors down (Sea Chest) and the other is at the northern edge of the 10+ motels, so it's about a 7 minute walk. I don't really see that as a con, but wanted to make that aware. Overall, a nice stay and would definitely recommend the Mariner's Inn Cambria since the rooms are newly renovated. Read more

The hotel was clean and comfortable however there was only one chair and no table inside the room, LOVED the patio where we watched the sunset and listened to the waves. The inn is perfectly located across the street from the beach, and the Moonstone Beach boardwalk, and much cheaper than the many other options along the road. Good location for what we had planned to do for four days in the area. Room was clean, but could use upgraded TV even though that's not why we were there. This hotel is the bare basics so remember this and not be upset, that is why you are paying a minimum of $100 less per night as the surrounding hotels. Clean room, bed and bathroom. The location of this hotel is wonderful! You have a short 10 minute walk to restaurants and it's right across the street from the ocean. The hotel was recently taken over by new management and the rooms were renovated. They now look a bit more updated, but not luxurious. soiled area rugs... rooms have painted concrete or wood flooring due to this motel excepts pets and therefore the rooms have a pet odor....we got 4 rooms and have no pets....bottom line you get what you pay for....will not stay again.

This hotel is located directly across highway 1 from the ocean, great views, and a board walk/trail. It is close to some very good restaurants. The hotel is not fancy but it is comfortable enough in a somewhat rustic way. We would stay here again.

This was our second stay within one month and we enjoyed it very much; last time with another couple as well. You can't beat the price on this newly refurbished property. The new manager and staff are friendly and helpful .The manager is already planning to fix a few little details that were put in place before he arrived. This includes the use of many […] whiskey barrels instead of tables with chairs and the lack of a place to sit or set items, especially if the mirrored sink basin is in bathroom area. Adding a table & mirrors in those rooms will make this comfortable space more accomodating. The prime location is across from Moonstone Beach and when they get the table and chair by the windows again, many rooms will offer a partial ocean view while seated at the table. Their rates are the most reasonable by far, so a little less fancy with mini refrigerators but microwave only in the office. Also there are not as many TV stations as you might like and they no longer have DVD players (most places seem to have removed these). However, the location, price and recent updating make this an excellent choice. Hungry? They are located next door to the excellent Sea Chest Restaurant & Oyster Bar which serves the best scallops and garlic bread among other delicious entrees; it is cash only with ATM on premises. Had an anniversary weekend. Moonstone drive is surprisingly popular. Booked a couple weeks ahead. Should have booked 2 or 3 months out then would have had many more choices. Being able to stay by the beach, this place did fine. Biggest gripe would be the room quality. Decore was more suited for deck or patio, maybe a garage. Check-in was a breeze. Room was cute. I'd heard the inn had been updated and it looked nice. Beds were comfy, but pillows were too fluffy for my liking. I actually got a headache from neck strain. The room came equipped with a noisy mini-fridge, which came in handy when I had left-overs. It was annoyingly loud until I realized that it was too close […] to the wall, so I moved it and solved the problem. The bathroom was nice and clean and included a feature I loved; a built-in heater, which made exiting the shower pleasant. I would recommend an early shower though, because I took mine around 9:30 and it was awful. I'm assuming that everyone else was showering and caused my water to spike at scolding and then immediately turn ice-cold for a few seconds. My husband took an early shower and didn't have this problem. The continental breakfast was served in the lobby. It was much better than other "continental" breakfasts I've had before. There were Eggo waffles, bagels, and danishes. Make sure to use the toaster! Somehow we failed to notice it both mornings and ended up eating cold waffles. The best thing was probably the location. It was super easy to find. It's right across from the beach, so you can easily go for a romantic stroll on the beach at sunset. A couple buildings down, there is a restaurant. Just down the street a bit is the famous Moonstone Bar & Grill. We ate their twice! It's just a short drive away from Main Street. Highway access is nearby. Read more

Shower faucet handle broken. Bathroom light/fan operated on one switch and was very noisy. Room felt damp but that may be because it was right at the beach. Alarm/radio emitted scratchy sound so we unplugged it. But bed was comfortable; the room was clean; and staff were pleasant.
