It's a very basic property where you get what you pay for. It was easy to find, being on the PCH. The beach was only a couple blocks away and there were plenty of businesses around. The neighborhood was good - not the nicest ever but not sketchy at all (and I used to live in Long Beach - I know sketchy). The only little complaint was that the room smelled […] a bit funky. Other than that, we thought it looked clean and nice. The bathrooms looked like they had probably been remodeled fairly recently. The shower & sink were in perfect condition. My rating is a 5 because this is a two-star hotel and it exceeded my expectations. My two main concerns, based on previous reviews, were that the room would have a peculiar odor and that the bed would be uncomfortable. Neither turned out to be true; the room smelled of cleaning agents (which dissipated after opening the windows) and the bed was perfect […] (firm, not at all uneven, big enough for my husband and me). A secondary concern was "cleanliness," but that turned out to be entirely erroneous as everything is quite updated (new windows, all tile bathroom). The room had: a large flatscreen TV, minifridge, coffee maker, microwave, table with chair, hangers and a bar to hang clothes and a small dresser, two nightstands, several lighting options (overhead light and two lamps). No clock, no paper/pens/pencils. I might say it was a little rough around the edges (some mismatched touch up paint on the walls, for example), but it in no way impacted the quality of the room or stay. The only actual downside is that the walls are paper thin-- the first night, the upstairs guests came home drunk and quite late and it woke us up. Invest in a pair of earplugs and it isn't a problem. The location is wonderful, a VERY easy walk to the beach and generally a cute and peaceful neighborhood. The employees at the front desk were polite, easily gave us a late check out, and their office always smelled like delicious food. Also, we really liked the Thai restaurant attached to the hotel. The motel was in a great location, very close to the beach and restaurants. It was an older hotel, but had obviously been recently remodeled. The rooms were very spacious, beds were comfortable, newer granite in the bathrooms and counters. It appeared to be family-owned, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Downside: there was a strange […] smell in our bathroom, which the staff would cover up with a pleasant spray every day, but it returned after a while. Also, the ice machine cost 25 cents to use - not a big deal, but a bit surprising. But overall it was a pleasant stay, and between the price and location you can't beat it. The price was a real deal for the LA area. The room, towels, bath, coffee maker and HBO were all great. I slept so peacefully. The beach was a short walk around the corner and just beautiful in the morning.

I was satisfied with the hotel. The room was clean and neath. The staff was nice. The hotel is two blocks from the beach. The only thing I didn't like is that the neighborhood was very quite. There is not much going on around the hotel. Anyway, I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel is located on the busy Pacific Coast Highway. We had the room over the Thai restaurant facing the road. I was worried the room would have smells from the restaurant but it did not and the road noise could be cancelled out by the AC unit. Hotel does not have cribs or pak n plays. Had a 6 mo. old which made it more challenging. In town visiting family so did not spend time here except to sleep. Rooms clean but showing age. A bit of road noise and from other guests, even though we were an end room. Over all not a bad price for location.

The room was nicely decorated and updated with quality furniture and flat screen TV. Bath was nicely tiled. the room also included very functional refrigerator and microwave. That said the standard queen was too small for comfort. The location is fine for the beach but too far to walk with beach chairs etc. The motel provides no breakfast but the Wildflower […] cafe is one block north and serves quality food. Located on Pacific Coast Highway, most rooms will have traffic noise but that did not interfere with sleeping. The rooms seemed to be well insulated from outside noise. On PCH only a few blocks from beach. Pretty good, cheap Thai restaurant on premises. Hotel is a basic mom-and-pop style motel that is clean and well-maintained considering its age. Fast, free wireless internet. Refrigerators and microwaves in rooms. The location of the hotel is excellent. Two blocks from the beach, walking distance or a short drive to local restaraunts and clubs. Free parking was a plus. The room was spacious and clean. However, the stench of sewage permeated the room and could not be dispersed despite having opened all the windows.

We split our room with another couple, so for the price it was a good deal. We were staying for one night, attending a wedding in the area. Had a large bathroom, which was nice for the ladies to get ready in. The best part of the trip was the Thai restaurant attached to the hotel....YUM!

The location of the hotel is great. We were able to walk almost everywhere for food and beach stuff. The ice machine they charge $0.25 for each use to keep people from stealing ice. The front desk was kind enough to provide us a quarter if we asked. We were told that we could get a roll away bed when we booked since we had 3to children with us and the […] room is setup for 4.
