Loved it, had a wonderful time, close to the wedding venue which I attended. Close to Kings Dominion, and AWESOME shopping, spent lots of money!! Got a lot of nice things at great prices. Made me want to move to Ashland, VA.

I enjoyed my stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast they served had a large variety and was very delicious. The location was a few minutes from really nice restaurants and only a few miles from Kings Dominion which is where my husband and I had planned on going for this trip. The one thing that slightly bothered […] me was when we first arrived to our room the garbage hadn't been emptied from the previous guest in the room. The garbage was over flowed by the next day before they took it out. That was a really big turn off. There were also holes in the sheets which was a little more homely then I would of expected; needless to say I didn't like that. Overall, however, we enjoyed our stay and as long as something like that doesn't happen again I wouldn't mind staying at this hotel again. Read more

Always enjoy staying at holiday inn and this time I had my 2 grandkids with me and there was plenty of room for us all. My only complaint is that there is a smoking area right at the entrance. I'm a non smoker and don't care to be around the smoke, nor do I want to subject my grandkids to it. Other than that, our stay was great.

The front desk attendant was great, she was so friendly and helpful so our stay started off really well. The hotel is conveniently off of the interstate and has plenty of restaurants nearby, which is why I chose it. However, upon walking into our room I could see that this Holiday Inn Express was not up to par with most of the others. I travel about […] 150-200 days a year so staying in hotels is part of the job. I typically pick Holiday Inn Express when available because they are usually clean, inexpensive & have fast internet! For starters, a lamp that is attached to the wall, kept falling down and just hanging by a wire. The next point that was a disappointment was the bathroom. There was hair everywhere & the tub looked like it hadn't been scrubbed with bleach in a long time; I was very hesitant to shower in there! There were also quite a few hairs on the bed. I think if I do this route again I would either stop closer to Richmond or travel farther north to find another hotel. Read more

Everything was okay except that we didn't get towels for 2 consecutive nights. The front desk would send us after housekeeping, and housekeeping would tell us they couldn't give us any towels. That was really irritating, but everything else was great.

We stayed for a 4 night stay during December. The room was comfortable and have no complaints. I personally never went down to breakfast but would ask my family to bring me up some fruit and after the first morning, they never had any fruit there to bring up. The family said the breakfast was just "okay". Each day, we left the room at about 10 and the […] laundry service was always knocking on the door and asking for the towels and wouldn't leave even when they were told that we would be gone in 10 minutes. There also seemed to be kind of a language barrier in getting this through to them which was difficult for both parties. Overall, we would stay there again as none of this was a "deal breaker". We had stayed at this hotel before and wanted to book our room for our recent trip. The mattresses were very comfortable, room was very clean. The breakfast had a nice variety, the warm items were kept warm and the cool items were kept cool. There are several places close by to eat.

We stayed Labor Day weekend. Extra comforter for the pull-out sofabed was blood stained. I was able to get a new one. I don't think they put the extra time in to clean the sofabed covers. So my advice is, check first before waiting to go to bed to use. We also had a bath tub that didn't drain well. Other than that, it was decent.

We stayed here during a trip to Kings Dominion. It is one exit past the amusement park and the area surrounding the hotel is laoded with restaurants and other stores. The staff was extremely friendly and the breakfast was nice. Our only complaint was the entire non-smoking floor that we stayed smelled like cigarette smoke. The staff was very friendly when we checked in. We called ahead to see if we could get an early check-in and our room was ready at 12:00 p.m. even though the hotel was sold out the night before. We booked the Queen Suite and it was the perfect size for a family of 5. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub after a long day at Kings Dominion. We were on our way to Myrtle Beach, SC and this hotel was a perfect location to sleep over half way. The location is right at the I95 Ashland exit making it very easy to get on and off the highway.
