"nice room in ideal location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 25, 2012
Our double room was small but we live in NYC so we didn’t feel cramped. The furnishings were clean and comfortable. The roof of the Chateau Frontenac was visible from our window. The location in the heart of the historic district and within walking distance of the newer sections is perfect for tourists. We were very happy here, and I doubt you could do much better for the price. Two cautions: (1) you need to check-in at another hotel across the street and a few doors down, as they will tell you when you ring the bell; and (2) avoid the hotel’s breakfast at a neighboring restaurant--it costs $10 Canadian and consists of powdered eggs and such. There is an excellent brunch spot just down the street from the hotel where you can eat well for not much more--it's on the left side as you walk down Rue St Ursule.
"restaurant nothing special"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 23, 2012
although the hotel per se was fine, the location wa quite a distance from the old city, and the restuarant left something to be desired. Having never in my life sent anything back, I actually did send back a salad with ingredients other than what was specified in the menu. the seoncd one was not much better, but I did not send it back a second time. service was barely acceptable.
"Perfect Location"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 22, 2012
Amazing location, almost every other building on the street was restaurant with any type of ambiance from Italian to Indian and beyond!

"give this place a try!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Apr 21, 2012
we totally enjoyed our stay at hotel l'aristocrat. the place was packed and still was very quiet. the house staff were quiet as mice. it's location is just far enough away from the main tourist sites but still close enough. aquarium is just down the road. excellent restaurant is within walking distance. the desk staff speaks better english than i do and i'm from the states! very nice people. i would definitely stay there again. the price was right also.

"Perfect location, beautiful spacious room!!!!"
Great amenities in the room, spacious room. pleasant and helpful front office staff!!!! Perfect location on a beautiful street in old Quebec just below the Chateau Fontenac. walking distance to many restaurants and shopping - who could ask for more?
"Perfect location for Winter Carnvial and sites!"
Stayed 1-5 Feb 2012 at this fantastic hotel. Genevieve, Stephanie, and the guys at the desk are WONDERFUL. They recommended reasonable excellent restaurants nearby. Location can't be beat-close to the Funicular (lift that takes you down to the St. Lawrence river), the Hotel Frontenanc, and within walking distance of the Winter Carnival, the Citadel, […] and Rue St Jean where there's restaurants and shops. Petit Champlain is literally five minutes away by Funicular. In the middle of our stay we spent the night at the Hotel de Glace. Stephanie showed us how and where to catch the bus (2.75) instead of paying for a pricey shuttle. Breakfast is good, and filling (croissants, coffee, ceral, juice, muffins). A nice touch was having a keurig coffee maker in the room. Hairdryer is powerful; showers devine. I like that they have trays on the floor where you can put your wet boots. I will absolutely stay here the next time I'm in Quebec. Read more
"Hotel Sainte Anne"
My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Sainte Anne. It was very quaint and perfect location to walk and see the sights. We would definitely stay again if we find ourselves in Quebec City....
"Winter stay"
Need to clean rugs in all rooms during winter to prevent salt stains. Not appealing at all.
"Hotel Sainte Anne in Quebec City"
Very European hotel with good accomodations, friendly and accomodating service and a great location in the Old City. lose to all the shopping and attractions. Unfortunately the resturant was closed for the season and the continental breakfast was limited.
"great location-fix the heat"
The location was great. The only problem was our room was very hot, they did provide a fan but that did not solve the problem for sleeping. We were moved to another room the 2nd night and that was much more comfortable.
Wonderful staff!
"Great hotel in a great location!"
We had a great stay at the hotel St. Anne in Quebec City. It was very clean and modern, and in a great location. The room was small, but I expected this coming in due to the fact that it is an old building and other reviews. But, we didn't spend much time in there anyways as we were out seeing the wonderful sites of Quebec!!!

"Old Quebec"
This was a very convenient location for old Quebec. The only downside was in the middle of a block with no automobile access. Had to drop bags at the end of the block. Hotel staff were very helpful though with bags, directions, recommendations, etc. Room was small but clean and modern.
"Best Location!"
Lovely old hotel in the heart of Old Quebec City. Very clean and friendly hotel staff. Only slight problem was a sticking bathroom door. The BEST street to be on! A very romantic city.
excellent help from desk staff--the room was beautiful and very up to date--location was perfect for walking around Quebec City. would recommend to anyone.
"Hotel St. Anne --excellent location"
This hotel was a lovely older hotel w/ a great location!! It was in the heart of the Upper Olde Town and walking distance to the Chateau Frontenac and to the Visitor's info where you could book tours, etc. and to the "Funiculare" which takes you very quickly down to the lower Olde Town. It was also located on a non-driving street lined w/ arts kiosks […] and very near the "Artists" Alley where you can purchase many different kinds of prints and paintings for very reasonable prices. The hotel itself had no lobby to speak of but it did have a nice restaurant. The rooms were a bit small but I expected that in a historic building. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was very modern and had a lovely modern shower. Because it is located on a street w/ no auto traffic our room was very quiet. The restaurant service was quite slow, but we learned very quickly that that is the norm in Quebec--eating is never rushed. So you can't be in a hurry when you are eating. Overall we really enjoyed this hotel and would definitely stay here again. Read more
"Ideally-located small hotel in Old Quebec City"
Initially locating the hotel is difficult, as it is on a pedestrian walkway, but if you use Chateau Frontenac as a landmark, it is only a half-block away. Again, once you locate public parking in the underground Hotel de Ville parking lot, it's fine, but the initial finding of the lot's entrance is a little complicated. Staff are quite friendly and […] helpful, especially Genevieve at the front desk. Our room was fine for 4 women on holiday. Having the elevator was helpful as my 86 year old mother was 1 of our group. The room was clean; the view was of an interior shaft so can't give high points on that. Very quiet (except for the snoring in our room.) LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT for walking around the old city of Quebec. Very pleased with Hotel Saint Anne... Read more
"Great Location in Quebec City"
This hotel is modern, sleek and ultra convenient to all the city's sites. It's right on Rue Ste Anne, a fine pedestrian street just across from the famous Hotel Frontanac. Minutes to Lower City by staircase; minutes to shopping and all the city's attractions. The rooms are a bit dark, but have stylish dark furnishings and contemporary bath fixtures. […] The towels could be a bit ore push and larger in keeping with the modern design. Toiletries are luxurious. The hotel could add some sheer draperies to complement the blackout drapes for semi privacy. I like the mini frige for drinks and snacks and the coffeemaker. The closet space in miniscule although there is enough room for another armoire or closet or dresser in the room. Bed is comfortable with nice linens. Quiet and charming hotel Read more
"Hotel Sainte Anne"
Wonderful stay in the heart of Old Quebec. Great location, friendly service and comfotable modern rooms. Worth a visit.
"Great location for old Quebec City"
The location was the best of any hotel in old Quebec City for the price. It lies halfway between two of the most expensive hotels in town with each being about a thirty second walk away. The price was fantastic for this location. We parked our car and walked anywhere we wanted to go. Parking is close in the public, underground garage which was cheaper […] than most valet parking. The hotel was a little difficult to find at first because it is on a pedestrian only side street. The ice maker was broken when we were there which wasn't a problem, but the smell of the carpet around it was. Luckily our room was on the other end of the hall. Those are the only two things I could say negative about this hotel. Our room was fantastic with a view of the Chateau. The staff was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place for the location and price alone. The staff and room make it even better. Read more

"Great location--cozy"
Great value! The staff was helpful. Very convenient to all the old town sights. Restaurant next door, le Pain Beni, is awesome. They don't tidy your room for you each day, but we liked the privacy that afforded (and the low rate). Best for romantic getaway--shower was transparent glass--very elegant.
"Hotel Sainte Anne"
This hotel is relatively cheap and in a superb location, and therefore ideal only as a base to explore the city. However, this is a 'boutique' style hotel, and hence the rooms are stylish but totally impractical and small. The hotel itself has no facilities other than a bar and restaurant, that, throughout our entire stay was empty, and on the one occassion […] we had breakfast in the hotel, it was so bad we demanded a refund. The staff we encountered were also rude, inefficient and a poor reflection on the lovely city of Quebec. Read more
"Surprise Inside Hotel Sainte-Anne"
When our taxi driver took us up a narrow cobblestone street and dropped us right at the steps to Hotel Sainte-Anne, we had no idea that an ultra-modern room awaited us in this very old hotel. The furniture and furnishings are very 2010 in a building that may date to the late 1700's. Our room was small but contained everything we needed - comfortable […] bed, coffee, unique bathroom, temperature control, good lighting. The location, just a block off the square, was perfect for us, as we like to see a city on public transportation (nearby) or by walking. Read more
"great location"
Great location within walking distance of all shops, cafes and sights in Old Town. Price was very reasonable for location. ONLY problem: We were given dormer room, under roof, so we couldn't stand upright in half of our room. Ceiling beams had cushions incase we stood up.

"Wonderfully close, clean and comfortable"
The best thing about this hotel: It is on a beautiful little pedestrian street, a half-block to the Funicular and across the square from the Chateau Frontenac. In other words, in the middle of everything. Our room was small but clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was great -- a huge walk-in shower was a treat. We usually stay at four- or […] five-star hotels, and I was a little hesitant about this, but the Sainte-Anne exceeded all our expectations. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Read more
"BANG! BANG BANG!!"
In general this is a very nice, small hotel. We had a room at the end of the hall which was probably a little larger than most and a nice blend of rustic (stone wall) and very modern furnishings. The only problem was sliding pocket door on the bathroom (and I think all the bathrooms in the hotel). This heavy door was weighted to easily (too easily) […] slide shut. And it shut with a BANG! Although we could control this in our own room we couldn't control the other rooms and we heard resounding BANG! BANG! BANG BANG!! day and night. I think that this could easily be fixed by installing some simple, inexpensive rubber stoppers. Read more
"Great location, but a few annoying flaws"
Right in the heart of old town on a beautiful pedestrian-only (park in the garage around the corner - cheaper than valet), the location can't be beat. The hotel was beautifully renovated and would have been perfect if things worked they way they should have. #1, the bottom of the bathroom door scraped against the floor in one spot, so it had to be forced […] pretty hard open or closed. #2, we checked in late at night right before reception closed. There are two lights built into the headboard, but the switch was broken on one of them and it couldn't be off, without anyone down at reception by the time I discovered this I needed to crawl under the bed to unplug it in order to have the room dark enough for me to sleep. Not a huge deal, just annoying. #3, there is a tv in the room, plus a handy booklet with a list of channels (the hotel even points out which channels are in English)... however there is no cable and we did not get reception on one single channel. There's plenty to do in the old town and we didn't go up there just to watch tv... but why have the tv at all if it's not useable? The hotel was very clean and the bed comfortable, the shower was amazing. If there was just one thing wrong I would chalk it up to a fluke, but 3 annoyances like this make me think that there must be problems in other rooms as well, so I can't recommend this place. "Hotel Saint Anne, Quebec"
This boutique hotel is just a short walk across the plaza from the Chateau Frontenac. It sits on a cobblestone walkway so there is no auto traffic or noise. Our room was modern, clean and quiet. The bathroom was totally modern and the shower was GREAT! There are just 28 rooms, free wi-fi but no business office or computers on the premises, so you must […] bring your own laptop. Breakfast is included and it was quite nice with a choice of either regular or chocolate croissants, cold cereals, juices, fruit, coffee, tea etc. We loved it! Read more
"Wonderful time at Hotel St. Anne - Quebec city"
My wife, 11 month old daughter and I made the trip from NJ to Quebec City for a long weekend to enjoy the old city. I always check the reviews before hand and you have some people who complain that the lights are too bright in their room. We're very easy going and view a hotel as a place to rest and relax while being in a clean, safe environment. If […] you're someone who gets agitated if the ice box hums or the elevator dings then maybe you should stay home. Anyway, we arrived on a Thursday afternoon and the Hotel St. Anne was all that we could have hoped for. It's literally across the street from the Chateau Frontenac and offers trendy, sophisticated looking rooms that are clean, well maintained and nice appointed. The staff was more the pleasant and very helpful in making some great dinner recommendations. We were next to the elevator and we didn't hear any noise. In fact it was so quiet that our infant daughter had to be woken up in the morning so we could get our day started she was sleeping so soundly. Like I said the location was superb. There is a parking lot around the corner and metered spots in front to temporarily park in while checking in and to unload your luggage. There's a nice Sunday breakfast free of charge as well. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay at a very nice and reasonably priced hotel in Quebec City within walking distance of everything in the old city, and the new for that matter. "Hotel Ste-Anne in Quebec City-great location"
Very nice hotel, but lobby consists of a small room off the broom closet with 3 seats and an ottoman. Only a single desk chair in our room with 2 queen beds. No place to sit outside, either. Restaurant open only during summer. Beds are great and bath is updated, but hotel was rather uncomfortable for us with no place to relax.
"THE LOCATION"
VERY CONVENIENT TO MANY OF THE AREAS IN THE OLD CITY WE WANTED TO SEE.
"Hotel Sainte-Anne, Quebec Canada"
The Hotel Sainte-Anne is fantastic... it's a Diamond among the diamonds that make up 'Old Quebec'. Centrally located, easy access to all of the attractions. You asked earlier if I would reccomend this hotel to others... I already have, and I'll continue to reccomend it. When I return to Quebec I WILL stay at the Sainte-Anne.
"Depressing View and Noisy Room Needed Maintenance"
The view outside was a dirty empty lot, the back of another building with an adjoining flat roof covered with debris and a dead squirrel. There was loud intermitent banging- cause unknown--pipes someplace we think. The light in the bathroom did not work nor did the light over my bed meant for reading even though we reported it.

"Hotel Sainte-Anne"
Great little hotel which was convenient to everything inside the walled "Old Quebec City". Bar facilities weren't available this time of year but lots of choice within easy walking distance.
"Hotel Sainte-Anne"
We had a nice greeting at our arrival. The lobby lacks some warmth but overall the renovation have been well accomplished. The only drawback is the coldness of the tile floor in the bathroom. The outside cold seemed to seep in at -20. Overall our short stay was very nice. Would recommend.
"Hotel St-Anne - wonderful hotel in Old Quebec"
We stayed here in the week before Christmas for 3 nights and could not have been more happy. Situated in the Old city, it was close to everything we wanted to see. The staff were excellent, always happy to help and gave excellent hints on where to go for breakfast! Yes, the closet is small, some rooms are smaller than others (we got given a slightly […] larger room than originally allocated) and they are not cookie cutter clones. Our room window looked out towards the Funiculaire and we could not have been happier. The suitability of this hotel made a short trip into a lovely stay. Read more

Location was perfect right in the middle of Old Quebec, close to all the sights. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very modern, clean and comfortable. What more can I say? Stay here, you won't be disappointed!
"Hotel Sainte- Anne - Great location."
The hotel was located in a cute little street a stones throw from the famous Chateau. It was in the centre of the old town - very convenient to everything. Staff at front desk very friendly and helpful. There was always someone to help out in English so language was not a problem. It was a very pleasant place to stay.

"great location in old town quebec"
The Hotel Ste-Anne, on a pedestrian only lane in Old Town Quebec City, provided a great jumping off point to enjoy this very beautiful city.
