Very ideal location overlooking Lake Placid, where Olympians train. The town just below the Inn, is clean, and friendly. The Inn itself, is very clean, new, and robust. The pool area is large, with an upper level sitting area. The breakfast was good, and the view in the dining area was top notch. I would revisit.

We had pleasant weekend at the Crowne Plaza Lake Placid. The staff was pleasant and helpful and we enjoyed four very nice meals at the restaurants. The views from the hotel are spectacular!

We stayed because I didn't like the motel for my kids' hockey tournament. Rooms were decently updated. didn't smell very fresh, but looked nice enough. They were mostly updated. I would not stay here for a getaway with just my husband, but with my kids I was fine. They liked the pool. The service at the restaurant was very good. Stayed here for 3 nights in late January to enjoy some skiing and winter hiking. GOOD: The king room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were extremely helpful with recommendations for restaurants, ski parking & shuttle, and answering questions about XC skiing in the area. The lounge/bar area was very relaxing, and the indoor pool was very inviting. […] Some nice areas with fireplace & couches. BAD: The room rate didn't include breakfast, and the buffet breakfast they served was mediocre and overpriced. I asked for my hiking water bottle to be filled with hot water and was charged the price of a cup of tea - for water! The coffee (if one could even call it that) was probably the worst coffee I've ever had. It was so weak it tasted less like coffee, and more like brown water. We skipped eating breakfast at the hotel the last 2 days because the coffee was so bad and found some excellent cafes just a few blocks into town (highly recommend BC, next to Starbucks). The hotel was a nice place to stay. Parking can be an issue especially in winter weather. Walking to area shops can be a challenge again during winter and because the hotel is on a rather large hill. I would recommend to always get a deal that includes the breakfast buffet. The fireplaces in the common areas are all LP gas and there is not a lot of […] heat that comes out from them. If you plan on staying warm by the fire - that won't happen. Overall, using a 3rd party to secure your reservation is always best to get the better value for your money. Hotel was fine. No major issues but nothing special. Rooms weren't especially large but adequate. Breakfast buffet was above average with made to order omelets. Nice touch. Having a ticket system to get coffee seemed cheap. Either offer it or don't.

this is a very pretty hotel, right in town, {although it is a very big hill down}, the pool/hot tub area is very nice with a separate sitting are with tables. The great room has beautiful views of the lake with couches and a fireplace. We did not eat here, as the were more economic choices close by, but I would highly recommend this hotel.

We travelled to Lake Placid for the New Year holiday. The lobby/great room was a really nice place to hang out and have a cup of coffee, drink, etc. The hotel is clean and pleasant enough overall. Our room was a decent size (we stayed in a room with 2 double beds in main hotel) and clean except for behind the night stand, lamps etc. (places that can […] get overlooked) were dusty. We didn't spend alot of time at the hotel, but did use the pool one afternoon which is a good size and has a nice room attached where you can sit and read, work, etc. It is in a great location where you can walk to town. We did eat at the Boathouse Restaurant on NY Eve which is owned and operated by the Crowne Plaza (although not attached). Unfortunately, we had a less than pleasant experience there with the waitstaff taking forever to bring our food and drinks even though the restaurant was only half full. The hotel was in a great location, there is a steep hill down to the village but it's not a bad climb even for our four year old. It was clean and was a pleasant place to stay even with a hockey tournament going on, the hotel never felt crowded or loud even though it was full of youth hockey players.

We went to have dinner at 7:30 pm after a long day of travel. Just a short walk down the hill and you are in the middle of Lake Placid. We booked on the fly through Hotels.com and was given a room over the laundry room and was later charged for the less then satisfactory breakfast. Have gone to Lake Placid since the early 80's and stayed at a number of establishments. Stunning views from the Great Room bar but will not go back.

We loved our stay in Lake Placid. The Crowne Plaza was the perfect spot. Some may find the walk up and down the hill a bit much but for us it was perfect. Loved walking to breakfast and dinner in town. Close to all the Olympic sites! Very enjoyable worthwhile trip to Lake Placid.
