The service was great. The valet worked countless hours And still was in a great mood. The room however looked nothing like the pic. It was advertised as a junior suite but it was one room, one bed with a small love seat . It advertised that I'd had a fridge and a microwave but when I got there there was no microwave to be found. I called the desk to […] complain and they did find one to place on the coffee table in the room. You would be better off just getting the 2 doubles room and paying less. Also, if you stay here request 5th floor or lower. Otherwise you will need to take 2 separate elevators to reach your room. The staff were super helpful. They also let me keep my car in valet after we checked out so that we didn't have to find new parking on Hollywood avenue. Not a big fan of the area just because of how touristy it was but that was expected before I booked.

The Holiday Inn Express is a very decent, comfortable hotel meeting my expectations. We had a junior suite which included a sofa bed for our child. It is not luxury and is not supposed to be. It is not inexpensive but that is the expectation for that touristy location, the luxury hotels in the area cost a lot more. Breakfast is very adequate to start your day.The staff is friendly and accomodating. It is located on a busy thouroughfare so anticipating that as a light sleeper I asked for a quiet room. They gave me one in the back which was a longer walk, needed 2 elevators but it was vey quiet and I appreciated that. You can walk to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theater and many of the Hollwood attractions although the crowds, the commercialism and hucksters on the street made this a less than pleasant area to visit, keep your wallet safe, but I guess it needs to be seen once and the Holiday Inn is away from the heart of all this. By the way I am a New Yorker and know Times Square, somehow the Hollywood experience seemed more negatively intense. Overall I recommend this hotel. Read more

This hotel worked out great for us. We rented two rooms because we took our daughter and 5 friends to Universal Studios and the beach for a few days. The king suite for us was a good size, although that part of the hotel is under renovation. No noise, though, and the daily workers were gone by the time we returned. We requested a suite with a sofa bed and it was like a huge family room--the pictures shows the bedroom separate from the sofa bed and this was misleading. Staff was extremely helpful and nice and did make a difference. Just do not ask for a suite--get two adjoining rooms if you want privacy as a couple and one extra person.

Beds lumpy. Carpet torn. AC gets turned off by staff everyday. Breakfast buffet NOT worth it! Parking $20 a day. Free wifi was the only benefit. I would say at lowels next time and would recommend you stay at lowels too. The extra $20 to $30 a night would be worth it!

We had driven from Northern California for an event at the Hollywood Bowl and selected this property for it's location which was exceptional. We could easily walk to the event and avoid the horrendous traffic on Highland Ave (in front of the hotel). The room however while clean, was well worn. Came for Barbra Streisand concerts--yes, i attended both! Checked in at 8pm, & male clerk was extremely pleasant & informative as to what the hotel offered and could offer in terms of information. Though i never partook of free breakfast (overslept each morning), this is a very nice amenity. I left the hotel each morning at 10am, and i returned @ 2pm […] on one day and @ 2:55pm on another, and my room on the 5th floor had not yet been attended to by housekeeping. Then i read that housekeeping services rooms from 9am-3pm. Oh well. Housekeeping did leave a note letting me know that i could contact the department should i require anything from them. At that point I was feeling much better about just staying in my room to relax all day...this is a luxury for me on my mini-vacation. Upon checking out, front desk clerk had valet provide a taxi for me on very quick notice. Altogether, a nice relaxing first-time experience at this hotel. My 86 year old mother and I went to this hotel after I researched it and almost everyone gave it good reviews. Well, they were right! All the hotel staff was very helpful, from kitchen staff to front desk, especially Manny & Mickey, they were very helpful. Mom & I both brought our own washcloths, so no problem. I would also say if you have any kind of hair problem (hair falling out, dye), bring your own hair towel. If you have a medical issue that will discolor white cloths, towels, please bring your own so you do not have to pay for any damages. It’s not such a big deal as long as you know in advance. This hotel is a short walk away from Hollywood Blvd., so you are easily able go to Walk of Fame, Grumman's, Ripley’s Odditorium, and World Guiness, Hollywood Museum. Plenty of cheap places to eat, like pizza ,burger, California Pizza Kitchen, Subway, Starbucks. You can walk down to CVS on Hollywood Blvd. The hotel has two queen beds, plasma tv (with HBO), refrigerator, closet, comfy chair, very spacious. I had a wonderful time at this hotel and was very pleased overall. When coming back from Hollywood Blvd, it’s very nice to see pleasant people willing to help you with anything. The pool is great. Really enjoyed and appreciated the excellent staff as well as the convenience of the Holiday Inn Express on Highland! A short 10 minute walk to the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard/Highland! So many sites to see including Madame Tusard's, The Chinese Theatre and Hard Rock! Would definitely stay again!
