"Great Location in Downtown Napa"
Loved the house and location, Owner will give very good recommendations for wineries and dining options. The owners also provide complimentary winetasting and a bottle of wine at their store, which is about a 10 minute walk from the B+B. Great Room, amazing décor in the house. Everything was a pleasure.

"Great location, great rooms"
This B&B is in a great location, walking distance to downtown Napa shops and restaurants. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and we really enjoyed our stay. We plan to stay here if we return to Napa. The only complaint we had is breakfast is too late. Breakfast is scheduled for 9:15 which is very late for vacationers who want to get their day started. Often we didn't actually eat until 9:30-10:00. We actually skipped breakfast our last day to get on the road at a decent hour. It would be nice if breakfast were available starting at 8:00 or 8:30.

"disappointed"
Never saw the owners for the entire 4 day trip. Breakfast was served at 9:15, actually 9:30 and our wine tours started at 10am. We stayed at a B&B and had to eat at Dennys. No big deal but it would of been nice to know before booking. We bought a bottle of wine to drink on the patio but there was nobody working and no cork screw around to open the wine. Otherwise the room was clean and the bed was confortable. Location was great, close to downtown Napa. There are a lot of undesirables in the area due to the Salvation Army being next to it and the house across the steet had a bunch of people outside, without shirts, eating pizza and yelling. not a sublime moment for a glass of wine on the patio. We went to their wine bar, John was great and the cab they made was fantastic!!!

"It was once pretty"
The room was large, but everything is now old, not antique but old and worn from the towels to the curtains. There is a sense of mold and dust, the bathroom was really small. The beddings were worn and pillows flat. They serve you the same breakfast every. Morning and it does not start until 9:30, which means if you would like to get an earlier start , you'll not be able to get breakfast.the neighborhood is sketchy, there is a halfway house about a block away in a church and there are always a few unsavory people around.

"beautiful and comfortable, too"
Wonderful hospitality from Celeste and Marie and Cedric! Beautiful restored victorian home and within walking distance of everything you need. Very quiet and comfortable. Excellent food at nearby restaurants. Loved the "Uncorked" tasting bar that Celeste and Bruce have down by the Napa River! This is the place to stay!

"40th wedding anniversary"
Everything about our stay at the McClelland Priest made out anniversary perfect. The B&B was very clean, close to everything, and Celeste (the owner) was friendly and helpful. Much better than staying at a hotel, the decor was beautiful, vintage, and added a special touch to our first Napa vacation.

"Yah that too"
We were in Napa for a Saturday conference and hence used the B&B as a hotel more than B&B. All was lovely on Sunday a.m. when we finally had a chance to relax and enjoy the quiet and quaintness of the Victorian parlor and rose filled grounds.

"close to down town"
Well the home is well appointed and well maintained.. The fence could use a coat of paint, minor point. Parking was close and the down town is close well within walking distance. However, there is no television either in the rooms(to be expected) nor in the common area(surprise). There was a lot of national events happening while we were there so we had to go to bars to keep up. We thought that there would be coffee in the morning before breakfast, but nada. The breakfast was very good with the bananas and strawberries and yogurt. We had a deck with our room which was nice. Celeste was very informative and enjoyable to talk with. She made it a point to list all of the recommended restaurants and wineries. She gave us cards for discounts at the various wineries.

"Great location good value"
The B&B is within walking distance of downtown Napa. It was a great way to get out, sample some nice wines and not worry about having to get back to the hotel. The place had some nice charm, for the most part it was very quiet. The breakfast was average. The only bad part of the hotel was the bed. It really should have been replaced years ago.

"Quiet B&B, great breakfast!"
The breakfast was delicious! It was great to talk to the other guests in the morning. The staff was beyond helpful in recommending wineries or restaurants, and can even recommend places for cheaper/half off discounts. Our room was clean and quiet - we stayed in the Tuscany carriage house. When we visited Uncorked, Christopher Robbin took care of us and made us feel welcome. The B&B was walkable to all of downtown Napa.

"Charming B&B in Napa"
This B&B is a charming house within walking distance of downtown Napa. When we arrived our keys were in an envelope by the door with some maps and discount offers for tastings at numerous wineries. The owners have many commitments over which they divide their time and may not be present at the B&B. The room was large and comfortable with a beautiful patio but there should be better lighting provided at night for the small set of stairs leading to the Firenze suite. The fireplace was warm to the touch even though the controls were set to off. Breakfast was large and delicious but was served at 9:15 am which may not be an issue for some but felt like lunch time for us!

Bästa hotellet på fyra veckor i USA! Litet men oerhört charmigt. Observera att det är B&B så det är inte ett fullservice hotell. Frukost, om man vill är kl 0900, då samlas alla 6 rum i matsalen och blir serverad frukost vid bordet. Rekommenderas varmt!

"Upea vanha talo Napan keskustassa"

"Loved it"

Slightly surprised at some of the average reviews for this place. Different types of place appeal to different people I guess. Simply put, we loved it. The house is beautiful and we really brought into the charm of the old style décor. We stayed in Firenze which was a good sized room with a lovely little terrace off the side. There was on street parking so that’s not a problem and it’s in easy walking distance from downtown Napa. Breakfast was perhaps a touch formal in that it’s served at a certain time but the food was lovely, the owner’s daughter (who was serving breakfast that morning) came and greeted everybody, asked them where they were from and made sure all the guests were introduced to each other. It was nice; we ate a good breakfast whilst having a chat with the other guests. I’d recommend this place to friends without hesitation. And if we’re lucky enough to return to Napa then I’d book up in McClelland-Priest.

"Puccini Room"
09/02/15 Ray B Atlanta, Georgia
We stayed in the Puccini room last year on our trip through Napa. Location: convenient to the river walk and Oxbo shops & restaurants. Room: the pictures from the website are a fair representation. What is missing is the picture of the private bath. My recommendation would be to see pictures of that as well - it was an odd location and in need of some repair. Our other issue was the hallway light right outside the bedroom. There was a stained glass window above the door - which the light shone through, and the bed faces the door. We could have turned off the light, but then other occupants would have pin-balled off the walls in the dark. We ended up hanging a blanket around the window to try and block the light.

"Lovely Victorian"
06/14/15 LuvMyVaca Cincinnati, Ohio
Beautiful old Victorian in Napa. It's old...and you'll know it, but the charm just wasn't there for us. We were greeted by a packet on the front porch, and got to meet the owner at breakfast the next day. The multiple doors in Carducci Suite were somewhat disconcerting, since upon looking out our window I could see two homeless people sleeping on the adjacent church lawn. Not what I want to look at paying $250 plus a night. There are better choices in Napa...we wouldn't stay again.

"Close to downtown Napa"
06/03/15 divinesaidshe Rutherford, New Jersey
We had a nice stay at the McClelland Priest. It is definitely a charming house. We stayed in the Firenze suite. One thing I wish I had known was that it didn't have a television. No where on their website did it say TVs were in any of the rooms, however I know that other rooms did have a TV from talking with the other patrons at breakfast. The room was spacious with a great sized bathroom and a nice verandah. Unfortunately none of the windows in the room opened, so we had to keep the air conditioner on as it got hot upstairs. This was too bad because it was very cool at night and it would have been nice to have a breeze from outside. Note that if you are in the main house (and not in the Calducci suite) there is a very tall and narrow staircase to lug your suitcases up! We were only around for breakfast for two mornings- we had the same breakfasts each day that reviewers noted below: yogurt and fresh fruit with granola as a first course and a potato/egg/cheese fritatta for the second course that was pretty good. A bit of variety would have been nice for the breakfast, but they were very tasty. The B&B is centrally located to downtown Napa and there is plenty of street parking which is nice.

"Comfy stay in downtown Napa"
02/14/15 auksyte
I have been meaning to write a review of the McClelland-Priest for a while. First, it is SO CHARMING when you arrive! I had never stayed in a B&B before and I think I may now be spoiled because this place was wonderful. My two cousins and I stayed in the Carriage House and it was perfect for the three of us. It was separate from the main house and very private. The only thing I would change is to add an a/c unit in the sitting room with the day bed as it got a bit stuffy back there. We were there in one of the hottest weekends in September with temps over 100 during the day. Luckily, it being Napa, things cooled down at night. The best part about this place is the breakfast. There were two courses and each day was different and really filling and spectacular. A great base to begin a day of wine tasting. Finally, the B&B is within walking distance to everywhere in downtown Napa which was also wonderful. All in all, a nearly perfect stay for a long weekend in Napa Valley!

"Quaint, Charming and well located"
10/23/14 Robert S Westborough MA
The Inn is conveniently located just a couple of blocks from Main St where there are numerous restaurants to choose from. Fairly easy access to the two highways that the Wineries are located on. Although the Inn is old, it is pretty well maintained and certainly has kept its charm. The morning breakfast that was included was fantastic! We actually stayed in an attached carriage house which was quite roomy - 2 rooms in fact and a comfortable bed. However the bathroom sink was actually in the bed room but that was really no bother. Just be aware, its a very old house and doesn't have the modern layouts and conveniences. If you are staying in the house the rooms are up a very large (beautiful) staircase for instance. Just a couple of outdoor sitting areas that were OK but nothing special. The owners left a very detailed packet with information, maps and coupons for free or discounted wine tasting, appetizers etc. The area around the Inn felt safe and it was quiet at night. Parking was only on the street but again it felt safe. We really enjoyed the old Inn and would stay there again!

"Lovely Place, Delicious (But Formal) Breakfast"
10/04/14 jennnjennjen San Francisco, California
Stayed here for a night during a weekend in Napa with two friends in the Carriage House room. The place is clean and inviting. It has character. Feels like a home away from home, that sort of thing. It actually has two rooms, one that has a large king bed and it's separated by the other (with a full-sized cot) by a walk-in closet area and a curtain. The set up worked out well for us since I stayed up later than my friends and didn't want to bother them. The place just feels nice and comfortable in general. There's some casual outdoor seating right outside and a little greenery so it was nice to sit outside and chat and drink wine. Breakfast was delicious, but you don't get much choice in it. For that morning we had a yogurt and fresh fruit with granola and cinnamon as a first course. The second course was a hash browns, cheese, and egg fritatta that was pretty good. There was also orange juice, coffee, water. They also had lemon pound cake available for us. Note that it feels like kind of a formal affair and you're sitting at a large dining table with everyone else and gold plating. So don't be like me and show up in your pajamas and feel awkward. :) The owner is also very good for tips and advice on traveling around Napa. Overall, I definitely enjoyed the stay. Would recommend it again. Would try not show up for breakfast in pjs (again).

"Beautiful home - great location!"
09/04/14 Susan T Rochester, New York
We stayed in the carriage house room, located on the property but not attached to the main house. It's very quaint and filled with beautiful decorations and lovely gardens. Our room was actually two separate rooms, which would be nice if you were traveling with another couple or children. A bit awkward was the bathroom, which opens up directly into your room - and has a glass door with a very thin curtain - not exactly private. The bed itself was very comfortable and the room well kept and clean. The "sitting room" had a day bed, coffee station and gas fire place. We loved the high ceilings and sky lights, made it feel more spacious and open. The breakfast was fantastic - food was freshly prepared and served by the owners. It's always so nice to chat with other travelers from around the world. Very close to the downtown Napa area, easy walk along lovely tree-lined streets. Highly recommend this place if you're ever in the area!! We'll definitely be back!

"Gorgeous Old Victorian House"
08/10/14 RubyAZ12 Phoenix, AZ
Finding a reasonably priced place to stay with any charm or character is difficult in Napa, so we were very pleased with this B &B. I am a total sucker for Old Victorians and the house was just beautiful, with many of the original details restored. We stayed in the Verdi suite. It is a large loom with a smaller, separate room that had a desk. That small area could have been put to better use with a loveseat and a table. The room has a fireplace and all the charm you could ever ask for. The staircase to the second floor is a curving, vintage Victorian and might be a little difficult for older folks to maneuver. Breakfast was a two course meal, and nicely presented. You also get a complimentary wine tasting and bottle of wine at the tasting room downtown. The location is great, as it is walking distance from downtown Napa. My only negative is the toiletries. We had really cheap little tacky soaps in the bathroom and a plastic bottle of Head and Shoulders for shampoo. I think the owners could do better. But i recommend the place highly if you like B &B's.

"Bit Disappointing"
08/09/14 Eric B Basking Ridge, New Jersey
When available, we love to stay at local bed and breakfasts. While location was great, just a couple blocks from downtown Napa -- we were kind of disappointed with the breakfast. We had to be there at 9am and were only served what the owner was making that day. So be warned, if you don't eat richer foods like Fritatta or French Toast (we don't), call in advance and ensure you can eat what you want. Also, owner was not around other than at breakfast, so no one to speak to if you had any questions about anything. For the money we paid, don't feel like we got our monies worth.
