Clube Maria Luisa - Albufeira

Not really a hotel, but a great base to travel from and return and relax just the same. It is a shame there is no longer a bar or restaurant. There are plenty of places close by but it was nice in the past to come back from a long drive and have a beer before getting changed for the evening.

Lovely private hotel never crowded well kept gardens, right on the beach via the stone steps and the beach is the prettiest in the area after exploring surrounding beaches. Staff exceptional although only there 9-6, but will help you with anything you need. Really spacious - room number 7, view over pool lounge with dining area, full kitchen even has […] a washing machine small hallway and large bathroom. Twin beds which can be put together for a double, and sofa bed in lounge. Lots of storage space and safe. Two pools just big enough and very clean. Housekeeping great - towels changed beds made floors swept. Only went self catering as a solo traveller and never felt intimidated in hotel or town even on the strip where bars and clubs were. The hotel is so quiet and hidden away from people making their way to beach. Don't normally go to a place twice but would definitely be going there again. Rooms styled in traditional way do not expect contemporary plush 5 star, but that's what made it so nice you knew you were in Portugal, some 5 star rooms are all the same and you could be in the UK (except for weather) very quaint accommodation. All in all a great time had, relaxing and friendly polite staff. Nothing going on here as in entertainment or restaurant but plenty of choices within walking distance. We had some problems with the check-in (waited almost 5 hours to get our room), and the staff didn't really give us any info about local attractions (maybe because we were there out of season?), but overall it was ok, staff friendly. The room was a bit dirty and needed refurbishment, but consisted of a living room, bedroom, separate, fully-equipped […] kitchen (kettle, microwave, washing machine, dishes, cutlery etc.) and bathroom - plus a spacious balcony. There was a heater in the bedroom, which was good, because it got cold at night (we travelled to Algrave in November). We had room service almost every day, there was a medium-sized swimming pool, and pool table at the bar - unfortunately, at the time they only served hot drinks - again, because it was out of season. It's a good hotel for those who are on a budget - don't expect many luxuries. It had one huge advantage: its location. Loads of stairs to the beach, but if you're fairly fit, it's three minutes walk, and the beach is lovely. We'd recommend the walk on the beach - when you get down the stairs, turn left, and you get rewarded with some beautiful views, soft sand and grottos. Alternatively, walk on the cliffs - it's breath-taking. The hotel is also near to the supermarkets, bars, restaurants and about 40 minutes walk to Albufeira, which is worth visiting. The hotel surroundings, however, are very quiet, which was great. Our room was facing the car park, but we still got a bit of a seaview from the balcony. Read more

Good location, right next to the beach and a nice area to stay in. Not far from the main restaurants and bars. Would recommend to hire a car and see places around the algarve. The hotel was very nice. It is basic and all you need really. It is quite and a pleasant place to stay. Might need to bring your own towels and a little kettle though. This hotel deserves more than its 2 star rating. Lovely and quiet. Close to the beach. Very friendly staff who were great with our two boys, age 6 and 8. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.

É de notar a falta de coordenação da equipa da limpeza, não existe hora para limpeza, tanto aparecem às 11h da manhã como às 16h. A àgua do balde da limpeza é a mesma para vários apartamentos. A varanda onde existe propensão para areia da chegada da praia nunca foi limpa. Espelhos do quarto sujos à entrada e após 1 semana com limpeza diaria nunca foi […] limpo. As toalhas são lavadas com produtos abrasivos (lixivia e/ou derivados) sem amaciador e podem/causam problemas de pele nas pessoas mais sensiveis. O bar/ginásio deixou de funcionar. Localização excelente para quem pretende praia muito boa. Com piscina no interior tambem para crianças. Read more

Hotel do nosso agrado, simples e com piscina, não sobrelotado durante a nossa estadia, de vez em quando umas crianças a fazer barulho mas nada de mais, cozinha satisfatória apesar de preferirmos os bicos do fogão a gás, podia haver quartos com cama de casal em vez de duas camas juntas. Anfang Mai noch in der Vorsaison sehr guter Standort ruhig und etwas weg vom Zentrum - nur 50 m über die Strasse zum Strand, der bei Ebbe zu langen Wanderungen einlädt und sonst keine Wünsche offen läßt incl. Very good value for money. Free internet wifi in the lobby/bar, bring your own laptop. No food were served in the restaurant, continental breakfast served if you ask one day ahead. The guys working in the bar/reception are very helpful and speaks very good english. Nice swimmingpool and garden. Quiet. Near the beach, (2 min walk) with umbrellas, sunbeds […] and a beach restaurant. Many other beaches nearby. 10 min walk to Ohlos de Aqua promenade with restaurants and a few bars. The village is very cosy compared to Albufeira 7 km away and the terrible "strip" 4 km away. 5 min walk to small supermarket and 10 min to a big supermarket. A bit dated rooms without AC ( we had a big fan in our bedroom). Nice kitchen, no oven though, only microwave. Small tv with only portugese channels. Nice bathroom with tub. The cleaning is not very good, our floors were never cleaned during our stay of 17 days so bring indoor shoes. Towels were changed but not the sheets. Free car parking. Car is adviceable even thoug the bus to Albufeira and Vilamoura passes 5 min walk from the hotel at the main road. I will go back, maybe not in the summer since ther's no AC. Read more

Nous avons passé un bon séjour et justement cette semaine-là il a fait un temps magnifique.Rien à redire sauf les commentaires que je vous ai cités plus haut.Mais pour mon mari et moi-même, cette semaine s'est trés bien passée, nous avions accés à la piscine quand on voulait et le jardin trés ben entretenu.Personnel trés gentil.J'ai trés bien apprécié […] car à l'accueil il y avait un jeune homme qui parlait trés bien le français.Ca fait plaisir.
