We had a wonderful time at the Fripp Resort staying in the North Hamptons. The golf course was an absolute beauty and was directly adjacent to our condo. The pool was extremely convenient for my family having 2 small daughters. Our condo was in excellent condition and was wonderful quality for the money! The only minor complaint was the hard beds :(

Our unit has fleas. We notified the front desk who acted like we must be crazy and we never heard a word from them. We were given amenity cards but weren't explained what they were for or where the amenities could be located. We ended up going to Hunting Island State Park to spend time on the beach. We'll never go back to Fripp Island.

We really enjoyed our stay on Fripp Island. We spent part of our time in the canoe at Hunting Island State Park and biking around Fripp (there are great bike/pedestrian paths all over the island). The only disappointment for us was the restaurants at the resort. We definitely recommend traveling off of the island for a nice dinner. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and tried two of their restaurants and could not get a nice, fresh, original seafood dish. Bonito Boathouse seemed like a good place for fried seafood and families, and it had a great view. But the next time we head to Fripp, and we certainly plan to, we will plan to travel off the island for a nice dinner out!

Great time on Fripp. As a first time guest I was thrilled to see all the bike riders and wish there had been some mention on the web site about the proliferation of them. There was mention of renting bikes so I guess the oversite is mine. I will definitely visit again only this time I will be better prepared.

The staff were exceptionally friendly. The room was clean and the bed and sofa were comfortable. The back of this villa overlooked the marsh. The beach was within easy walking distance. There was a problem with the shower head that was reported to the hotel staff when we left. We plan on staying with this resort again when we return to Fripp Island.

This was our first visit to Fripp Island but we will definitely be back. We went alone and had a great time. Next time we will bring the kids because they will love the nature and wildlife aspect. There is so much to do you need to stay at least a week. We brought everything with us like groceries, bikes, golf clubs, fishing equipment, etc. but you can rent all these things and there are plenty of places to eat. My only complaint was the price of drinks at the bars. Bring your own! Other than that, this resort rocks!

I recommend this place to anyone who has a family and enjoys not just the beach but nature. There are deer and aligaters on this island which gives it a fun interesting touch. The only problem we had was everything is far away from everything, you pritty much have to rent a golf cart or a bike to get around on the island. The golf carts you rent from them are slowwwww..dont waist your money on that. The view was great, there were plently of pools only 1 is heated though..but it didnt feel heated. The rooms are great very clean and spacious. This place is definatly something and would be a nice place to live.

We enjoyed our stay although it was very short. Overall the resort is designed for family with kids but there are still grown up activities to do to relax including boat ride and golf course which I would highly recommend. During the boat ride we observed several dolphins. The only thing they could improve is since the resort is so remote, need to have more food options open later than lunch time. If you are planning to stay, it might not be bad idea to bring along some grocery as the local shop mark ups are pretty high but very convenient.

My husband and loved this resort. We stayed in a 2 BR, 2 BA condo that was about 100 feet from the beach. We could walk out on the patio and go straight to the beach. The condo was really large, probably because it was a bit older it had more square footage than newer models. It was very clean and fully furnished. We were within walking distance of the food carousel and tennis courts. The resort was beautifully landscaped. The best part of the trip were the deer!! They are everywhere at dusk and come right up to your car!! I took many pictures of them. The deli at the resort closes at 6:00pm so if you need supplies go there early; otherwise you have to drive back over tthe bridge to an Exxon station. There are two restaurants on Fripp Island but we did not try them. My only regret was that we did not plan a longer stay. We were only there for 2 nights. The next time we will plan for a week at least.

It was a villa, not a hotel. It was up three flights of stairs, no elevator, which could be a problem for some people. There was a nice view of the marsh. Lots of birds and wildlife. However, the mattress was terrible! It was like sleeping in a hole. I don't think I have ever seen a worse mattress. My husband ended up sleeping on the couch it was so bad. Also, we saw a cockroach in the bedroom. Yuck!! The kitchen pans were in pretty bad shape. A few updates are definitely needed.

Stayed for a week while attending our sons graduation from Marine bootcamp. The drive was about 1/2 hour to get off the island and to Parris Island depending on traffic. The resort exceeded our expectations as we were placed in a very clean, privately owned home. The kids (ages 7-14) all want to return to Fripp instead of our usual Myrtle beach vacation. Only negative things were that the pools were not heated so they were pretty cold in April and nobody under 18 was allowed in the hot tubs. Also, would recommend getting your groceries before getting on the island to save some $.

Fripp Island is a family vacation get away. It is a quaint coastal island that allows you to escape everyday life and still have the luxuries one might desire. If you go to Fripp expecting perfection you will be disappointed. It is a beautiful place to visit but it is a little dated. But if you ask me, that is part of the charm! Our villas was clean and quaint. Just be sure to stock up on necessities prior to arriving to the island. The island grocery is very limited and has limited hours off season. And believe me, once you arrive to Fripp you don't really want to leave (the off- island grocery is a good 20 miles away). Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and plan to visit again.

This was our first trip to Fripp Island and we loved it! We have vacationed many times on Hilton Head and probably won't go back after staying on Fripp Island. It is the perfect family island. The atmosphere on Fripp Island is relaxed and the villa where we stayed was beautiful. The beach was easy to get to and wasn't crowded even in July. There are several restaurants but I would recommend bringing food if you stay for an extended period of time. There is no large grocery on the island. We loved it so much we are going back in September.

We booked at the last minute through hotels.com with little idea of what to expect. Fripp Island is a private resort island with mostly homes a few condos. We were pleasantly surprised to have a relaxing vacation without all the spring break insanity. Nice golf courses, pools, and tennis courts. Boats, kayaks, golf carts, and bicycles are available for rental. Our two bedroom condo on the salt marshes was well decorated and very comfortable for family of 3. Maintenance cable TV outage was repaired within 1 hour. One small problem with slow plumbing in one of two bathrooms the day we left. I'm sure they would have corrected it quickly. Weather for 1st week of April was great, 73 to 80 degrees. The beach was quiet, beautiful, and very clean. One note: not all eating establishments were open. I don't know if it is just for repair or a seasonal thing. This was no problem however, 2 restaurants and the market were open and the food was quite good. The only negative was the internet facilities are the business office are not very comfortable and the DSL connection was slow. Also, tables around pool could stand routine cleaning from airborne dirt. But please know that the island is very clean from garbage, and the beach is smooth with very little junk in the surf. All in all we were pleasantly surprised by the Fripp Island Resort and would defintely consider staying there again.
