I came here with my partner totally by accident, since all the rooms in Whistler were either too expensive or all booked. This was a really nice surprise. The lodge is beautiful, the rooms are big, comfortable (good firm mattress for bad backs) and a full size kitchen in the studio suite. We chose Pemberton Valley Lodge, about 15 miles north of Whistler, because the price was so much more reasonable. But now we would go back there because it is such a nice relaxing place to stay! Besides very reasonable rates we were impressed with the decor and little amenities like cups of spiced cider in the lobby, bowls of apples in the fitness area, […] etc. Bring your swimsuit because they keep the outdoor pool and hottub warm and comfortable all year--what fun to swim surrounded by snow! And your car stays warm and dry in their free, heated, underground garage. Our "room" was a one-bedroom apartment overlooking the pool and the mountains. It included a nice balcony, living room with hide-a-bed and electric fireplace, a full kitchen stocked with dishes, etc., (even a washer/dryer), and a nice bedroom with a view. The bath was very well-decorated. We complained that they hadn't replaced towels and they pointed out that since they are very "green" conscious they ask guests to put towels in the tub if they need replacing, but they were quick to replace them when we asked, and to bring extra hangers for our closet. The village of Pemberton has a few shops, gas stations and restaurants, and the road to Whistler is kept in good shape. The hotel has regular transportation to Whistler for skiing. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights so we could ski in Whistler. The staff is very friendly, our room was comfortable and clean. We took the free shuttle to the ski lifts and our drivers were very nice and pleasant to talk to. The heated pool and hot tub were relaxing after a long day on the slopes. On Thursday evening we had the pool area to […] ourselves but on Saturday there were 2 other couples so its a little busier on weekends, which is to be expected, but not uncomfortably so. The drive to whistler is about 30-40 min but gorgeous and well worth the amount we saved by staying there instead of in Whistler. My son lives nearby and my wife is allergic to his dog. So we have been using this hotel often and it goes downhill at every stay. Stayed ther two weeks ago, the pool was cloudy and the hottub did not work. This time the pool was worse and the hotub not repaired. They also insist on charging a $50 deposit over the pre-paid room, not really a problem […] but it does take 5 to 10 minutes to complete this process, a nuisance after driving for a few hours.We will now have to look elsewhere. Some of the facilities (pool, hot tub) are not properly maintained. At least out of season. Rooms ok but not very spacious. Only queen beds in their one-bedroom apartments.

This is a way better alternative than what's available in Pemberton! We originally wanted to stay in Whistler but couldn't get a room at the price we wanted! Pemberton Lodge was the easiest/cheapest alternative and it's only 30 minutes away from Whistler.

The Pemberton Valley Lodge was a nice and affordable place to stay. Free underground parking is an excellent feature. Hotel staff was nice and attentive. The one bedroom I stayed in was ok, the stove in the kitchenette was wobbly and there was no fan in the bathroom. These were not deal breakers, just some things that could be improved upon. Definitely a lot of positives, got some great coffee in town from the Mt.Currie coffee co. and Pemberton has a lot of mountain biking trails which are also good for trail running! We really enjoyed our stay and the staff were extremely friendly. This is a great place not far from Whistler. I left something in the room and noticed on our way home. The staff found it right away and offered to mail it to me...great service! We would definitely stay there again.

This place was a fantastic surprise - highly recommended! Most hotels near Whistler are expensive and come with extra costs like ludicrous extra charges for parking (seriously... how many hotel customers DON'T need parking? Just build it into the rate!!!). The Pemberton Valley Lodge included parking in the rate and was STILL cheaper than other options. […] The room felt like a whole apartment and was meticulously prepared for guests (e.g. the table had wine glasses set out with cloth napkins artfully folded in them). The room had separate heat-a/c units in the living room and bedroom, which was convenient. It also had a full kitchen (sink, dishwasher, stove, fridge, dishes & cooking/ dining utensils). There are only 2 downsides. First is that it's not in Whistler village, so there's a 15-30 min drive. This didn't feel like an inconvenience for us whatsoever so it was a non-issue. The second is the in-room "fireplace". We were sort of expecting an actual fireplace based on the description and other reviews. We thought that might have been expecting too much... allowing strangers to manage an open fire in their room seems a bit of a risk. I guess the hotel (or their insurance co.) came to the same conclusion. It's not a real fireplace. It's a semi-realistic light-show with a warm air vent. Should have seen it coming. On the whole, a fantastic place to stay for a night or a week. If you do want a real fire to sit in front of, they have one in the lobby - which is a pretty cool place to spend a few minutes anyway. I booked a 1-bedroom suite for me and my parents. The room was spacious, had a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, balcony, decent furniture and lovely paintings. It was the quiet and cozy home we had during the snowstorm. The staff was very nice and helpful. It took about 30 minutes to Whistler by the hotel shuttle. Pemberton was more local comparing to the Whistler Village, with less tourists and more privacy, perfect for a family trip. It was our first time visiting the area and we had a wonderful experience. Convenient, inexpensive for skiing in Whistler, free shuttle ride taking 30 minutes. Hot tub was broken when we stayed there, but was compensated by increasing the pool temperature - accommodating the larger crowd-no waiting for the hot tub! This hotel looks comparable in appearance to any fancy hotel you'd find in Whistler, but for a lot cheaper price. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was that there was an odd, constant buzzing noise inside the elevator. Aside from that minor annoyance, I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
