"No nonsense clean and reasonably priced hotel"
Easy check in. Comfortable room. Free shuttle bus to Airport Connection train station where you can check into your flight then ride the train and head straight to departure. "Good, clean rooms...great view of the Jockey Club"
I was there for a work conference and it was one of the recommended hotel. It was nice, but it would have been nice if breakfast was included. The service was efficient and very helpful though. I would stay at it again, but the neighborhood was somewhat not as convenient. It would have been nice to have a 7/11 around or something a bit similar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Hotel, A Few Kinks, but Overall Nice Stay"
The staff was very helpful in person. We were allowed to sit in their lobby and use the wifi to book the room via hotels.com. Over the phone, some of the evening and overnight staff had trouble understanding our request. Their English was decent at best. The manager upgraded us to the deluxe suite after realizing there were no more superior rooms available. […] This was very generous of him, but we had also paid our money. So, he may not have had another choice. The rooms were pretty decent sizes for any city, but especially for Hong Kong. This is one of the reasons that we booked the hotel. The first room was not clean by the windows and the carpet was very dirty with brown spots. We were moved first thing in the morning to a clean room. The second room was great, and the only problem was that the water was not steaming hot. It was hot, but a teasing hot - not the type of hot that makes you want to stay in the shower longer, though the water stings your body. The night of Chinese New Year, the water was great. Maybe they turned up the water pressure and heat since so many people had paid such a great amount of money for that single night. The next night, it was back to normal. The only other issue that we had is when we asked if there was any where to heat our food up, we were told the microwave doesn't work. At a 4 star hotel, this should not be the case, especially during CNY. Overall, we liked the hotel and their willingness to work with us. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Neither Pleasing Nor Hospitable"
I arrived at the hotel and was immediately disappointed with the view, or lack thereof. This area is an eyesore. There's an overpass that runs right next to the hotel. The hotel lobby was outdated and there were hideous chairs with worn fabric, but the lighting was good, it was clean, and it looked like it could easily be updated. Before arriving, […] I emailed three times asking if I could upgrade my room. I kept getting the same generic response of, "upgrades are subject to availability." There was a definite lack of customer service. When I went to check in, the concierge "upgraded" me to a twin room instead of a double. This wasn't exactly what I meant, but it would do. The concierge wasn't extremely accommodating or friendly, however. Then, when I asked about adding the weekend trip to my frequent flier miles, she informed me that my room didn't qualify, which is fine, but again her tone wasn't hospitable. The bedroom had been recently renovated and the carpet and paint looked newish. The linens were a terrible yellow color instead of the usual crisp white. The bathroom had no ventilation, and the toilet was stained, so even after flushing, it left a yellowish water in the bowl. The water pressure in the shower was good, thankfully. All in all, I was disappointed in my stay and I won't be returning to the Cosmopolitan again. From now on, I'll be enjoying the accommodations I normally frequent when I'm in Hong Kong. Response by Cosmopolitan Hotel Hong Kong Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to know that you didnât have the chance to explore the hotelâs neighbourhood, which comprises an array of local bistros and boutiques, this time. Our Concierge team is happy to recommend you the best route to explore upon your next visit. Regarding the in-room temperature, we hope you had the chance to relay your concern on the spot for the prompt arrangement of heater. Your feedbacks towards the breakfast is well taken for our continuous improvement. Also, we trust the WiFi issue was only an occasional case this time and will definitely look into it to avoid the same from happening again. Lastly, while the renovation work is confined to specific floors only with dedicated buffer floors above and below to minimise disturbance to our guests, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused. We hope the facelift of the entire hotel will impress you upon your return.

"A fine hotel, a little out of the way"
Be careful about booking the correct room. The website knew that three of us were going to stay in the room, but it still gave us a room with 2 single beds. To be fair, the fine-print indicated this, so I should have known and been able to correct ahead of time. Otherwise, this is a fine hotel. It is being renovated, which update the small rooms but […] don't give them any more space. The hotel is located a fair walk from the MTR and major shopping areas. "Hotel located by cemetery."
Hotel is located by a cemetery. For rooms faced cemetary the windows are sealed. Standard rooms are small. If you want bigger room or room with unsealed windows you need to upgrade. "Worst hotel experience ever"
This hotel hands down is the new low of hotel stay that i have seen. All aspects of this hotel were terrible. I booked this hotel based on the reviews i read here. Apparently not using hotel site was a mistake as they gave me possibly the smallest and worthless room in the hotel and when i probed bit further they said this is the room they are assigning […] for other site reservations. The room faced a cemetery, although while booking i asked for non cemetery room. I forgot to bring this up while checking in. After i got into the room, voila it was cemetery facing (how could it not be). So i called front desk and explained to them that i don't want a cemetery facing room and any other room is fine (don't need a pretty view, just not cemetery facing). Here is the interesting part, they gave me the SAME room, 4 floors down. So i called again and they said "all other rooms were executive except this one" and any other room would increase the rate by $500 HKD. I didn't cave in so took the room. About the room itself, its the smallest possible room ever (believe me i am not being dramatic, just stating facts). Staff and concierge were clueless about anything I asked. Couldn't help with any question about restaurant or sightseeing. Front desk staff was extremely rude. Good things, Hotel was fairly clean, good location and free shuttles all day to main points of interest. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rates high in guest support"
The best part of the stay was the Mobile phone provided in every room. It gives you unlimited internet sevice, unlimited local calls, free calls to 7 countries. You can tale the phone anywhere you go to. It can even provide a Hotspot signal so your own mobile can get Internet access anywhere in HK. Great feature! This service was a first time for me. […] This is not even available in higher category hotels. The hotel staff provides excellent guest services. From the front desk staff. To the concierge. To the staff at the lobby and transportation areas. Everyone was so customer-oreinted - always getting a Yes and never a No. The free hotel shuttle service to all the important areas was both reliable and efficient, and more than makes up for the hotel's location. Rooms are relatively small bit well designed - no inconveniences and discomforts here. Downsides: The nearest convenience store is a 15 minute walk away and involves crossing a pedestrian subway. And the coffee from the lobby bar was very pricey. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The location of the hotel is great"
The location of this hotel is great as it is a short walk to Times Square. We started our trip in the regular room, but my wife found it to be too small so we upgraded to the deluxe room which was still small, but better. It also had a decent view. Wireless in the room is needlessly locked to one device per day, but they have this really cool smartphone […] that you can use in the room. With this smartphone you can tether and get free internet as well as call to many countries free. If you like you can take the phone out and use it in HK. What a great add on! Travelling to Hong Kong usually means paying more for a hotel room and getting less, this hotel was a welcomed surprise. The room was absolutely lovely. Great value. Fantastic shower with hot hot water and a high flow rate. The minibar is reasonably priced. It's not in the middle of everything, but it is right next to bus lines and the hotel offers a lot of free shuttles to different areas, including Central Station. There are also frequent taxis. But the kicker is that you are provided a free Android […] smart phone to use which you can tether to your own devices for free wifi anywhere you go. Calls to the US, HK, and a few other local countries are free as well. It has a lot advertising on the home screen, but that doesn't compromise it's Google Maps or hotspot abilities. A patchy check in kept me sitting in the lobby from 7am until 1pm. After a 15 hour flight followed by Airbus & Cab transfer from HK airport, I was disappointed the hotel could not offer an earlier check-in. "The hotel is very busy, sorry" was the best on offer. Perhaps 12.00pm, staff told me. I was offered a room at 1pm. Sitting in full sight of the […] staff, no-one approached me, to let me know. The room, probably, was available earlier. The hotel is located opposite HK Jockey club, the neighorhood clean and safe. There is a lot of heavy traffic in this area, but that's Hong Kong, I guess. M Once in the room, all is well. Small-ish, but clean, modern and well equipped. Service is efficient, polite and prompt. I asked for an iron, this arrived within 5-10 minutes. I asked for food, this arrived promptly also. The 'Handy" courtesy phone is fabulous and can handshake with your laptop and cellphone. Walking and exploring with the "Handy" and GPS makes life all the easier. Locals tell me the GPS around HK is notoriously temperamental, but for sight seeing and general navigation I found it useful. You can also make free international calls. The single biggest gripe is the $150 fee for the shuttle. for my return trip to HK International airport. Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought this was a complimentary service. The shuttle itself is air conditioned and very comfortable. The ride seemed to take a long time compared to Air Train and cab, which took me to the hotel on arrival. Second time stayed in this hotel, the location is great, only 8-10 mins walk to time square. The shuttle bus provided by the hotel was so so, the seats are small, is not necessary on time( we waited 25 min for the bus to leave to wan chai, on the return we waited 45 min) and the driver is kind of rude, but it does get to the places we wanted to go. […] Taxi is bit difficult to get as due to the 'occupied central'/ 'unberlla movement'. Overall, most of the hotel staff are very polite and helpful, so it is still a great place for a short stay.
