"Relaxing resort with phenomenal staff and great ocean views"
Reviewed by H of New York, NY on Sep 7, 2009
I stayed at the Katathani in late August 2009 with two friends. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with towels to cool ourselves down and drinks----the service was only uphill from there. We had no problems getting a room with three beds here (most other hotels we looked at charged extra). The staff is very friendly and honest and the rooms are clean, classy and have great views of the pool and the beach and ocean beyond it. All in all, this was a very peaceful and relaxing resort. We went during the off-season, so the hotel was quieter but I got the sense the staff would be equally attentive during the busy season. The hotel is within walking distance of Kata town and a very quick cab/tuk tuk ride from Phuket town. Be warned that everyone will try to overcharge for cabs to Phuket - the price is always negotiable! If you're looking for a honeymoon resort or just a fun place to stay, away from the frat boys, backpackers and sleazy old sex tourists, this is it.

out of value="5""Beautiful hotel with private beach"
Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Dec 6, 2008
We stayed at the Katathani in November 2008. Lovely decor, nice staff and a great stretch of private beach. It's at the far end of Kata Noi beach, so it's quiet and less crowded. There are lots of pools and plenty of pool and beach chairs. It's a rather large resort and we found out there are actually two sections, Thani and Bhuri, that have their own lobbies, shops, bars, restaurants, etc. You can visit either side though. The rooms were clean though of course there were some small bugs (hard to get away from these in a tropical locale). Overall a very relaxing experience in a beautiful place.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Oct 1, 2008
Great suite with the sitting area and sleeper sofa and two tvs but it seems the sleeping area and the sitting area should be reversed. It was easy to pick up hallway conversations as we were sleeping. Also, the light switch to the bedroom should be inside the bathroom not outside it. Otherwise, a great set-up and stay.

Service er meget god. God mat og meget hyggelig og vennlig betjening. Flott beliggenhet, mange valg i svømmebassenger og superb tilgang til Kata's beste og reneste strand.
