"Lovely, unique lodging"
Quaint and lovely place to stay! Host was remarkable-full of information. The breakfast was the best we have ever had at a B&B. Close to restaurants and shopping. Quiet and peaceful location- we enjoyed not having a unit above us or a busy hallway of a regular hotel. Room was full of character.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The owners of this b&b provided awesome service, good recommendations about Taos, and wonderful breakfast. They were also very fun to interact with, while allowing you every bit of privacy you desire. Whether you are looking for an adventure or a relaxing getaway, this is a great place to call home on your trip. Will be returning here!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Charles met us as we arrived, he was very informative and was eager to show us the room and how to work all the gadgets. The room was very clean and with one night in the bed we were ready to load it up and take it with us. Breakfast was charming and plenty of it, my coffee, water and juice cups were alway's topped offed, the toasted flour tortillas […] with cinnamon were outstanding. The atmosphere at breakfast was great, with many of the guests sharing their Taos experiences, with Charles at hand to answer questions. I will go back --- Jim Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We enjoyed getting to know Charles and Leanne. They are so nice and are very gracious hosts. We stayed 3 nights, the breakfasts were delicious!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our 3rd Wedding Anniversary was spent here at the beautiful Taos Americana Artists gallery B&B, as our host provided everything we needed and the location was ideal for our getaway:). We are returning to this establishment in 2014 for another longer stay...5 STARS:)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The B & B was quaint & friendly quirky! The owners are really nice, the breakfast was awesome, & I loved the resident peacock & cats! We plan to go back for a longer stay as soon as possible.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great stay in a magical place"
This somewhat oddly named B&B is a great find. We spent a Friday night there on a hunch and were very pleased with everything. The peacock is way cool and his story is pretty interesting. Charles and LeAnn will tell you about that, as well as anything else you'd like to know about Taos and the area. Charles' restaurant recommendations were spot on. […] He also cooks a great breakfast! They were gracious, welcoming and informative hosts. The B&B isn't within close walking distance of the plaza and you'll need a car to explore the town, restaurants, bars, etc. But, the inn is in a very quiet location, down a lane off the main drag, and absolutely oozes what you think Taos should be. We highly recommend staying here for a very warm, personal New Mexico experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Inn keepers Charles & Leann were terrific! George the peacock adds to the atmosphere of the place. Breakfast was wonderful and would hold one until supper time. I highly recommend this establishment.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hot and stuffy"
This BB was not better than a Motel 8, but for double the price, and without AC. The room was stuffy when I got there, and the staff did not even botjer to open the windows, to cool down the room. The front screen door did not have a lock, it could be open from the outside, so I was unable to open it to get dome fresh sir. The bathroom window roller […] was broken, so the window did not open at all. With my windoes open, I was able to hear a loud phone conversayion, just outside my room. The room did not cool off until 2AM making it impossible to sleep. I would not recommend this BB to even my worst enemy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Turn into the dead end street"
The host was gracious, but overly chatty...nice peacock in the back kitchen (a real one)...we had to get on the road by 8 to get back to the airport, but breakfast wasn't served until 8 and that was for everyone. I prefer separate seatings. Car had to be parked on the street because the "3 car parking spot" was only if everyone squeezed together. (Everyone […] didn't)The room was quiet and clean, though and we had a good night's sleep. Great view of the Sange de Cristo mountains from the front of the place. "Downhome N.M. hospitality"
What makes this B&B special is its host. Charles goes out of his way to be hospitable, to serve gourmet breakfasts, and to regale guests with interesting stories and observations. His wife was away during our stay, but Charles was host enough for two people! We loved having a private front porch with a view of mountains, and we appreciated a sitting […] room to watch TV. We would gladly stay there again on a future trip to Taos. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a peaceful and restful spot with friendly, informative owners. The food was very nice and George, the peacock, was fun. Our room was clean and kept with local flavour. Towards the edge of the hub so not quite walking distanceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"First b&b for me, wont be the last"
Excellent breakfast, pleasant staff, quaint rooms! Wish we could stay longer. Be careful, the water is nuclear hot! High school stadium across the street, we were able to listen to the whole game. We'll be going backGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Inn, would have much prefered a better room."
Although our room was clean and offered a view we were placed in a high traffic area in a room adjacent to and connected with office, kitchen and dinning area. Everyone coming and going passed by our room resulting in a complete lack of privacy. Host was up early each day preparing breakfast in the kitchen with only a door separating us. Arriving and […] departing guests accessed office and dinning area through a door adjacent to our room. We were not offered alternative accommodations even though Inn was not fully booked. We found the Inn charming, clean, well managed but were very disappointed with room we were given. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The Nicest Hosts"

We stayed here in June 2014 for a couple nights. What we liked about this B&B: friendly, helpful hosts, off the road location (very quiet), close to attractions, filling and tasty breakfast, nicely decorated rooms (we stayed in the cottage). The place was clean and updated. We had off street parking right in front of our room. The best, for us, was having an outside entrance so we could come and go at all hours (we left early one morning, and came in after midnight one night) and not worry about disturbing anyone. When we travel to Taos next this would be our go-to B&B.
"Wow! What a GREAT place!"

I stayed four nights at this lovely little B&B nestled off of the main highway. The first two nights, I stayed in the Garden Gallery....off by itself in a corner of the property. It's a tiny little space, but absolutely cosy. I loved it. The last two nights, I stayed in a room just off of the kitchen (can't recall the name). It, too, had a fireplace. It also had a refrigerator, telephone (who wants to make calls when they are enjoying some time away?), and television (another item that I did not need!). Lovely king size bed and very comfortable. Be aware that George, the peacock, presides over the garden and loves to entertain the guests with his lovely displays. Charles is an exceptional host. He cooks incredibly delicious breakfasts and makes sure that it meets any necessary dietary needs. I enjoyed his blue corn pancakes and his stuffed french toast. Mouthwatering and it's hard to leave anything behind on the plate! Coffee is quite addictive and I could easily drink a full carafe! Thank you to the proprietors for making my stay memorable and special!

We enjoyed American Artists Gallery B&B. Comfortable rooms and a pleasant outdoor courtyard to enjoy, including views of nearby mountains. The innkeeper is lots of fun, and the breakfast was great. Good location for trips to/around Taos.

We had a great stay at the American Artists B and B. We were unsure of what to expect, but Charles checked us in and gave us good food and activity recommendations based on our interests. The room was fabulous, with a fireplace and an extremely comfortable bed where we recharged from our day hiking! Breakfast was delectable, fresh berry smoothies, good coffee, stuffed french toast, blueberry blue corn waffles. LeAn and Charles sent us on our way with leftovers for the road and the trail! We will be back!

The innkeepers are very friendly, the room was perfect and the breakfast was excellent. We only stayed one night but it was wonderful. We highly recommend staying here when in Taos, New Mexico. George the peacock is awesome and a ham to boot.
"Tasteful, wonderful setting"

We loved our stay here - if we could have afforded it, we would have stayed here every night were were in Taos. Our room was incredible - well-decorated and charming. The owner was extremely chatty and gave a very thorough introduction to the place. We enjoyed sitting on the porch sipping free lemonade and tea, eating cookies and watching the hummingbirds. I found George the peacock to be a bit aggressive and intimidating and he followed me all the way to our room at one point. Charles (owner) encouraged me to squirt him with a spray bottle but I didn't have one handy. He is harmless but if you are afraid of birds this might be a problem for you. A word of advice - this place is a little bit hard to find and google maps really misled us on this one. Be sure you have driving directions from the website or call for directions -
"A magical stay"

We booked a one-night stay at American Artists Gallery B&B. As soon as we settled into our accommodations, we knew this would be a wonderful retreat from all the sightseeing we had planned. We were pampered! The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom had custom made soaps and lotions, the décor was welcoming and we loved the touch of original artwork on the walls. We sat out on the patio in the evening enjoying the view of the mountains and the resident peacock. Charles checked with us in regards to our likes for breakfast and made us a delicious, varied meal. He and wife LeAnn joined us at breakfast for conversation and gave us many tips and maps of Taos. We will definitely return here for our next visit to Taos! This B&B, located on a quiet street is a gem!

George the peacock rocks! Fun to watch him. The accodations were extremely satisfactory. The breakfasts were amazing. Charles went out of his way to have food that caters to all dietary issues. He also had many recommendations that were excellent. We'll be back!
"Dirty, dusty, disappointing"
10/13/12 Traveler2Q Chicagoland, Illinois
I wish I felt the same enthusiasm for this inn as many of the others who have commented on this site. Breakfasts were well presented and tasty, but I was cautious as cats were free to roam the kitchen while food was being prepared. I enjoyed meeting and talking with fellow travelers over breakfast, however, LeAn has such a loud conversational voice I had to struggle to hear the person across the table from me....and LeAn was in the next room! My room was cozy and in dire need of a thorough cleaning if not a complete update. Were I to return to Taos I believe I would seek different accommodations.
"Eclectic Touches & Awesome Breakfast!!"

We were looking for a lower priced B&B and stumbled upon this one. We had been traveling about 20 days or so, so high priced hotel stays were out of the question except for a few splurges here and there. Everything in Taos is old or looks old. We stayed in the room called "Rose", which was the suite, had a King bed, a separate sitting area and a very small bathroom. The decor was okay - it was actually a small cottage type place. They have other rooms in the main building as well. The water in the bathroom SUPER HOT...be careful. they have a pet peacock named Pete and he's blind. If you call his name, he actually looks at you and seems to know his name. Cute thing that will follow you around. They have a hot tub but the jets don't really work very well. They have internet access as well as wi-fi. The owner was quite a character and turned out to be a very nice person that went out of his way when I lost my IPad. He offered to take me back to the restaurant. He came around later to see if I found it...The best thing about this place was the breakfast. We have been traveling for a while and this was the BEST braekfast that we had. He served us wonderful assorted fresh fruit topped with a yogurt dressing, Scrambled eggs with jalapeno peppers, blue corn blueberry pancakes and bacon, toast...and the other usual fixings. There is a refrigerator on the premises that stores some of the best oatmeal, chocolate chip cooks you'll ever have. It was an interesting and fun place to stay.
