"Good place to make your base for a few days..."Reviewed by Daniel W. of "Tampa, FL" on Apr 7, 2012
I only stayed here one night, but this would be a great place to bring a family, and stay for several days. The 2-bedroom condo was clean and comfortable, loved the gas fireplace, comfortable bed, and the kitchen was handy. Access to the units is a little inconvenient -- lots of steps to go up and down, especially if you're on the back side. But the location is great, just outside Banff, and just a 3 minute drive to Canmore.
"Comfortable and convenient"Reviewed by Ellen K of "British Columbia" on Mar 21, 2012
The room was spacious and comfortable with a sitting space in addition to the bed. The hotel is within easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants, etc. Only complaints: 1) Early wake up call not received as requested for first morning (good thing I was up already) 2) Very noisy kids running in the hallway the first night 3) Radio came on early on second morning (I did not set it) I would stay here again.
"Radisson Hotel, Canmore, AB."Reviewed by Randy M of "Red Deer, AB." on Feb 23, 2012
Our stay was very pleasant an comfortable, and all of the staff were amazing. We had the best time in the bar with our sever who we made cry as she was laughing soo hard!! The menue was exquisite and our server, Julia, treated us like royalty! Our favourite dessert was some frozen cheese cake balls, twice!!! "To die for" is all I can say about that. I would highly recommend staying there as you are only minutes from Banff.

We were impressed with the service here -- we only booked one night on hotels.com, but decided at the last minute to stay an extra night, and the hotel staff accommodated that request easily and with minimal hassle. The two nights were two separate bookings, due to the nature of an online booking, but our experience in adding the night (aside from missing […] out on the lower rate!) was painless. The hotel seemed like a very good deal for a nice weekend away -- the room had amenities like a down comforter, microwave and fridge, DVD player, heated tile floors, a jacuzzi tub, steam room shower, and in-room fireplace. I tend to be cold, so the extra warm touches were perfect for me. Next time, we might try upgrading from the executive suite to the larger one, with a separate living room, but the executive suite is still larger than an average hotel room, so there was no shortage of space. We'll probably stay here again the next time we're in Banff. It's a little ways off the main drag, but only about a 5-minute drive downtown. It was a bit too cold to walk when we were there, but in nicer weather, not a strenuous walk (although a lot of shopping could make it so -- coming back would be an uphill walk, and I'm not sure I'd want to do that with a lot of bags). I think that the only complaint we had about the room all weekend was that the parking outside was a bit tight, so getting out of the spot when the lot was full required some manoeuvring. Read more
"It's okay, but..."
The location is about a mile from downtown Banff so it was really quiet but I had to get back in the car to go where the action is. Location does provide a good jumping off point to ski resorts. Vents on stove didn't work so room always smelled like stale food. Not much charm but otherwise perfectly adequate. I'll look elsewhere next trip.
"Great Hotel"
This was a Great Hotel....The rooms were very nice! We loved it & would stay here again.

"The Tunnel Mountain Inn , Banff, Alberta, Canada"
The Inn was a short, plesant drive from downtown Banff set in the mountains. The local bus service stopped in front of the Inn if we didn't wish to drive downtown, only about 8 minutes away. The Inn was clean and quirt and the staff very helpful. I loved the whirlpool tub and steam shower in our room. Great for relaxing after a day of hiking the mountains. […] We would love to return from Banff and would stay there again! Read more
"Tunnel Mtn Resort"
Decent value, an older accommodation which is a bit dark and dated. The main problem was the loft bed which had a Queen mattress on a twin frame. Kitchen was minimally stocked.
"Tunnel Moutain Resort in Bannf, Canada"
This hotel was a great value for the money spent!
"Overall positive."
This is for a "loft chalet" unit. These are 1-BR units, with an additional loft w/2 double beds. The loft chalet units are arranged in 4-plexes at the back of the property, overlooking the valley containing Banff Ave and the Trans Canada Hwy, and facing Cascade Mtn. Pros: kitchen, fair amount of space, decent view (somewhat obscured by trees), private, […] quiet. Gas BBQ's available outside. Small grocery/convenience store, and liquor store across the street. There's a spa/sauna(?), but I didn't use it. Staff was friendly. Cons: needs better Wifi (both signal and bandwidth - was barely usable at times). No dresser (for unpacking clothes) in loft. 10+ minute walk from town, up a moderate hill. Summary: I'd recommend this place for a small group or family, if you don't mind being a little away from the hustle/bustle of the center of town, or need a lot of amenites. Read more
"Tunnel Moutain Resort at St. Mary's Glacier Park"
Overall pretty nice place, was not overly impressed with the staff. The biggest drawback was that it was very over priced for what it was.
"Good location; friendly staff; overly soft beds"
The hotel is maintained well and located just a few kilometers from the heart of town nicely situated a little bit up in the mountains. The staff was very friendly (it's the first time I had the front desk call my room to ask if everything was okay). The air conditioner wasn't working, and they promptly sent someone to take a look. It required more […] major work, so they called someone else for repairs the while we were out the next morning. I wish the beds had been firmer, but other than that, everything was very nice in the room, and the microwave + refrigerator came in very handy. Read more
"Lovely situated at the hill side of Banff City"
With the forrest and the mountains in the bakc yard, and Banff city within a short walk or drive, this hotel has an absolutely perfect location. The room was great with a fine kitchen facility and indoor pool which expecially our children enjoyed. We fully recommend this Hotel and would definitely stay here again.
"Peace & Quiet"
Everything about this place was comfort. Out of the tourist hub-bub. Great bathroom. The price was right.
"Nice woodland location"
The woodland and mountain view are beautiful and the room we had had a balcony but it was slightly too cold to sit out there sadly. The room was lovely with a flat screen TV and fireplace. Sadly the internet signal was extremely poor, the worst we have had in two months travelling around America and Canada and for our trip we needed the wifi. So unless […] you get one of the rooms closer to the reception it will not work well. The hotel also did not offer breakfast which other hotels in the area do as included. Nice indoor pool but the water was too cold. The other seperate hot tub/saunas room was very nice. Read more
"Second stay, would stay again"
This was our second time staying at tunnel mountain. The loft cabins are spacious and contain a kitchen with everything that you would need to make a meal. The location is just far enough from downtown Banff so that you don't get so much of the tourist crowds, but is also just a short drive or walk to the city if you choose to do so. There are also […] hiking trails that start across the street if you wanted to get out in the woods. The staff was very friendly and responded quickly to any request that we had. The only complaint is that if you have noisy guests in the parking lot, you can hear everything that is going on outside and it makes it very difficult to sleep. Also, I wish that the hot water lasted longer when showering. Other than a couple of very noisy nights, which was due largely to a few very inconsiderate guests on their way to and from the bars, we were once again pleased with tunnel mountain and would stay again. "Like having your own cabin."
Loved Banff. Tunnel Mt. is off the main area but only 3 minutes to mid-town. Loved the loft; plenty of room with 2 bedrooms, living area with kitchen and a balcony. I read another review that said paper-thin walls. They weren't kidding, but it wasn't a problem because the place wasn't crowded. Parking was tight; I wouldn't want to have a big vehicle. […] Rotten shower head. Read more
"Very, very nice"
I went in May 2010 for work. My room was extremely spacious with a very comfortable king size bed. I had so much space, I didn't know what to do with it. The tile floor by the sink was heated which made those cool nights and mornings rather pleasant. Everything was clean, I had everything I needed. The shower could be used as a steam "room". Because […] my business was in the Banff Centre, the location was okay, not the best, not the worse. It's a 30-min walk (Do not walk along Tunnel Mountain Road, there is no sidewalk or shoulder, and the road is a bit narrow and winding, not really safe) or a 7-8$ cab ride. It's an easy 20-min walk to "downtown" Banff (or a 7-8$ cab ride, or the bus stops right in front of the hotel). My room was overlooking Tunnel Mountain Drive which still gave me some nice view of the mountains. It was quiet, too. There is a gym, sauna and a pool but I didn't try them. There was a power outage in the whole neighbourhood one night and a staff member distributed flashlights, which was appreciated. There is a couple of restaurants by the hotel (I didn't try them). There is also a convenience store across the street. Staff was helpful and courteous. Overall, excellent stay, very comfortable and I would definitely go back. Read more
"A Mountain Refuge"
The setting of thisd resort is nestled amongst the spruce and piune trees witha a healthy view of the surrounding montains. Deer browswed below our balcony as evening set in. The in room steam bath is our executive suite coupled with a fireplace made the stay that much nicer. Will always come back.
"Has a full kitchen...."
.....but nothing to cook with. I could only boil water in the tea kettle.
"Great location!"
The rooms are large with plenty of space. A big whirlpool tub and a private balcony. This is the second time we stayed at this hotel. They also have a barbecue area for cooking as well. The rooms have a small refrigerator.
"For those who like peace and quiet with great surroundings"
Tunnel Mountain Lodge is located maybe a mile up the hill from Banff. But that mile buys you some great scenery and a lot of peace and quiet. The hotel's exterior looks a little dated at times. But the interior is in great condition and has very modern, well cared for rooms with marble counter tops and a jacuzzi tub, not to mention a fireplace and a […] small deck that looked out on some great scenery. My stay at Tunnel Mountain Lodge was very quiet. They've got everything you might need like a laundry, a fitness room, and a pool. I would stay there again in a minute. The hotels in Banff itself are a lot more crowded and don't save you all that much money. The only thing to watch out for during the summer is that they increase room prices quite a lot on weekends, charging as much as triple the room price during the week. But Banff is a very popular destination due to its immense beauty. So maybe its worth it. Read more
"Great room for the money"
Very nice and good location. We liked it.
"no frills but clean and good price"
Clean, good location. The kitchen in the unit was convenient. A minor issue with the windows and the blinds. For some reason, they were "stingy" with the blinds which did not cover the windows completely. The windows cannot be opened, which left the room a little stuffy. We booked early, got a very good rate, and stayed only 2 nights, which made it […] acceptable. Still, for $20 more, we found the Charlton's Court much more pleasant. Read more

"one of the best rooms i have ever stayed in during canada trip"
this resort is probably one of the best values for money in all of canada. the rooms are extremely nice - high ceilings, flatscreen, outdoor terrace (with breathtaking mountain views - although this may not be in every room), luxurious bathroom (with jacuzzi tub and separate shower/sauna), dual sinks, refrigerator, and even a fireplace!! only caveat […] is that the location, although peaceful and quiet, is slightly away from downtown banff (ie, about a 5 min car drive). other than this, this place comes highly recommended Read more
"Nothing Worked"
We really got to know the maintenance staff. Nothing in the room worked - from the TV to the hair dryer. The thing that really was a problem was the Internet access. It was impossible to remain connected and the staff was no help. The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but when the extended family (15 members) moved in to the room next to us quality […] went down hill. The walls transmitted sound. We were very glad we only had one more day at that point. Read more
"Not a good stay"
This hotel is located on a hill side. The one bedroom suite we stayed actually is a half basement. There is no window in the bedroom. The blinder in the living room is missing a few panels. So the people walking by can see our room directly.
"Outstanding"
The resort was a short distance out of town, which made it very quiet. We were able to walk downhill into town to pick up our rental car. Facilities were lovely. Large room, jacuzzi and heated floor tiles (which would have been useful in the winter). In another building, there was a steam room, sauna and large hot tub. There is also an indoor pool and […] smaller hot tub in the building with the office. Very comfortable. Read more
"Very Nice"
I liked everything about this resort expect the fitness room hours of 8 to 10. I like to workout in the morning and 8 AM is to late to open an exercise room.

"Tunnel Mountain Resort"
The hotel was comfortable, but the parking not so much. If you have a large vehicle, it's not easy to maneuver around. Other than that, it was a nice stay.
"tunnel mountian resort"
Our stay was great . We were up grade too a larger room for free. Resort is a little dated but great deal for the money.

"Tunnel Mountain Resort Banff- Beautiful location"
Beautiful location with a view of the mountains right outside the patio doors. Room was not the one bedroom suite shown on website, it was small with a little kitchenette. Could prepare eggs and toast, but not much else, not enough dishes (4 of everything), one small frying pan and a pot; coffee and tea were provided. Hide-a bed was fine for kids, but […] not adults. Pool was too small to bother swimming in. Simple accomodations, but better than a single hotel room with two beds. Would recommend for a family of 4, not 4 adults. Location is worth overcoming shortcomings. Deer came right up to patio doors as we were eating! Read more
"Very comfy, nice area in Banff"
I really enjoyed this hotel. We stayed in the executive suite and the bed was very comfy. There was also a steam room which was really nice. The only complaint I have is that there was no wood burning fireplace. Most of the hotels on tunnel mountain have a wood burnin fire place and it's so nice to have that at night.
"Tunnel Mountain Resort in Banff,Alberta"
The hotel is in need of renovation inside and out. The bed was uncomfortable, the kitchen needed more glasses and pans. The fridge needs to be replaced and the tv in the bedroom had a poor picture and volume issues. The hot tub by the pool was the smallest we had ever seen. The location was nice and we had deer come up to the deck. The clerk when we […] checked out did not ask if we enjoyed our stay or how the room was. That was a first for us. If they are going to charge what they do they need to look at the qualitity of what they are providing for their guests. Read more
Location is a little ways out of downtown Banff, but if you have a car is fine (more than 20 mins walking I'd guess). The room was great. I went with my boyfriend for a weekend away and we loved the king size bed, fireplace, and balcony. Microwave and mini-fridge were also nice to have. Reception was friendly... however didn't seem to give any extra […] information about anything (we had to ask a lot of questions i.e. What's the wifi password, how do you work the fireplace, can we get more coffee for the room, etc). "This Place was Great"
I just stayed there with my wife and we had a great suite. The room was great clean the shower(we even had a steam shower and tub) and bed room was excellent. The pool is smaller and the excersies room was limited to few peaces of eqipment. I would stay there again in a heart beat, I dont like spending alot of money but I got my moneys worth there.
"tunnel mountain resort"
Hot tub cold! The room was okay, just a room. Needs some updating. Couldn't control the temperature in the room and it was so very hot! Price was cheap enough, but definitely got what we paid for!
"Tunnel Mountain Resort"
We really enjoyed our room. Check-in took way too long! 25 minutes in line with only one person working at the front desk during one of the busiest weekends of the season (Family Day). We were able to enjoy the pool and hot tub on our first day, but after that the hot tub was out of order-very disappointing as we had been spending our days outdoors […] and really looked forward to a soak in the hot water. Otherwise the location was great-our chalet backed onto the trees and there were deer our back for the kids to observe. The suite had everything we needed for our stay and our family of 6 was very comfortable. Read more
"Fully Renovated!! - Very happy!"
We were surprised to see our room fully renovated (probably in the last year or two) -Granite counter top -In floor tile heating -nice shower with steam option -fireplace -new tv and dvd player etc. It was awesome to find a room in such good condition! The only thing that was outdated was the mattress :( It wasn't too bad, but we could feel indents […] where people have slept before.. It sort of created a spot where you would just sink to. If they replaced the mattress the room would have been perfect! Read more
"careful what you book"
We booked on hotels.com - when we got there - the suite they were giving us was very old and in the basement - nothing like the pictures - we had to argue with managers to get the room swaped and then they wanted FULL price to get downgraded - no credit or consideration becasue we booked on hotels.com - we were like hows that fair - so careful what […] u book - the pics are not what they actually give you as a room - very much let down.
