I stayed here last year during the marathon, and again this year. It's very close to AT&T Center, starting line, and everything else. Front desk was very helpfull, bed was comfortable, room was very clean and quiet, couldn't hear the highway traffic. But again, the pillows were horrible (Bring your own). For the money, this is the best deal in town.

This hotel was not quite as described in the description. I booked 2 "king suites" with sofabeds in each, which was needed to accommodate my whole party. I also needed to know if the hotel accepted pets, so I'd called the hotel prestay & was told that they did accept small dogs with a $10 per day rate. This was fine with me. But when I arrived, neither room had sofabeds, & was told they had none available, so I had to book a third room at rack rates. I was also told that they didnt accept pets, but when I told the desk clerk that I'd called ahead, he said that he'd make an exception in my case. Huh??? In my room, the coffee maker didn't work, but they very quickly replaced it, the bathroom door wouldn't shut. (They couldn't do anything about that with the room occupied, which was understandable.)And Oh my gosh.... bring your own pillows! They really need to replace the ones they have. How can a pillow be both flat & lumpy at the same time!? The 2nd & 3rd rooms were fine (except for the pillows!). I struck up a chat with a gentleman at the front desk, who turned out to be the owner of the hotel, who apologized for the confusion, but didn't offer to make any sort of adjustment for the unnecessary 3rd room. Bottom line? The entire building smelled musty (but is being renovated a little bit at a time) & the front desk staff could use some training. The cont. breakfast, while not elaborate, was certainly adequate. All in all, it wasn't a terrible stay, and I would certainly recommend it to those who are budget minded that need to be close to Brooks Medical center, or Ft. Sam Houston.

For the price we paid, we were given a very large room with a king size bed and a sitting room with a desk and couch. The room was clean despite the pitiful looking outside of the hotel. The staff were nice. I did not check out the breakfast, but the coffee smelled great! Our room was surrounded by other rooms that were being remodeled. Fortunately, the work crews were not very loud while we were there! A few negatives about this hotel are 1. No HBO and Starz despite advertising them in the amenities, 2. We stayed 2 nights and our room was not cleaned despite our request to have it cleaned and restocked. I had to request more towels for our second night, and only received two very small towels after being questioned about the reason for the towel request for a few minutes.

The room was great. Had the King Suite and it was totally worth the money. The staff was very nice and accomadating. The carpet was a little worn but nothing to gripe about. I would definately stay here again. Hard to find good service these days, but they went the extra mile to make us very comfortable.

This hotel has nice managers who pay attention to the needs of the guests. They smile and greet you as you come and go. We got a very large room with a king bed, couch, TV and microwave for a great price. You have to drive a few exits down to find restaurants but there is plenty nearby and the San Antonio attractions are close. We will definitely be staying there again.

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It was ok but like my title say "U get what U pay 4". The room was pretty clean but being a neat freak was not clean enough. The tissue box holder was broken, the tub was stained, and the pool very small. Make sure you bring your own iron it left black stuff on my son clothes and leaked water from the bottom. The location was great to for all the things we wanted to do, the longest ride was to Seaworld and that was a little less than 30 minutes, downtown was about 8 minutes so location was GREAT! The breakfast had no protein items, the frosted flakes was not frosted, after a certain number of free cups of coffee the rest of the guest had to pay for theirs, but I did see one time the worker give money to one person so they did not have to pay. The next morning my family and I found it better to just sleep in and go get breakfast on our own. The hotel workers were great and very helpful so I would stay here again but now I know what to expect when I come this time. "U get what U pay 4"

Overall it was a good hotel. We had a suite so my son felt like he had his own room. A couple of things I have to say is the fan was very noisy and kept us up the first night. The manager did say he was getting it fixed after we left. Another thing was our room didn't have a table in it so we had to eat on the bed. For the price we were very satisfied and I would definitely recommend it.

I was very impressed with the size of the room. I read the comments before I booked and decided to take a chance. The room was perfect for me and a buddy. The second bed was seperated by a large distance, so I couldn't hear him snore. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean and quiet. If there was one flaw it was the pillows, they were a little lumpy.

No problems with reservation or checkin, however; the sink was 90% clogged, there were cigarette burns in the sheets, the coffee pot was broken, the bed was poorly made (enough so that I had to practically re-make it in order not to sleep directly on the mattress), and there was significant mildew in the shower under the rubber no-slip mat. I have stayed at nicer hotels for similar cost.

It was way too expensive for the quality of the Travelodge that I stayed in. There was no toilet paper when I got there and the coffee pot and God knows what else hadn't been cleaned. The lights stopped working halfway through my stay. The only reason I stayed there was because it was a mile from my husband at Fort Sam Houston. Next time I will use a different hotel!

This hotel although used for sleeping was far from a great experience. I had numerous calls made to the front desk to get a remote control for the television and more importantly TOWELS. I eventually had to go to the front desk in the morning to complain about the remote and towels, but it didn't stop there. I also had an issue with the A/C smelling a bit musty when on. I wouldn't say the beds were bad but the pillows and service could've been better. Last but not least, my exchanged room had a window issue to which only one latch worked. By this time I had already given up on the front desk and the hotel but since it was already paid for I had to put up with it. Overall I would not recommend this room #142 nor the hotel for that matter to anyone looking to stay in San Antonio.
