"Zentrale Lage, ruhige Zimmer"

"Nedostatečné zajištění vstupu do rezidence"

"Perfect for my needs"
06/15/14 redsteph91 Bristol, United Kingdom
I have to say I was apprehensive about booking this property due to the review stating that the booking was cancelled 3 weeks before arrival - incidentally this is a friend of mine so I knew the story. I was also going to the Grand Prix so knew that to find an alternative would be a problem. However the booking was absolutely fine. I arrived at around 11am and was pleased that I could check-in straight away. My room was on the 4th floor and had bunk beds plus a sofa bed. More than adequate for me on my own. There was a small kitchen, a dining area, a separate bathroom plus a small balcony. Everything was clean and tidy. Contrary to other reviews I was only staying 6 nights but I still had towels provided and because the room was big enough for 4 there were plenty of towels. I would say though that if 4 people were staying there is not much room for storing clothes. 1 cupboard and one cabinet. For myself though it was fine. I had also been a little concerned at the location as I knew I would be returning every night after dark and do not like walking on my own but I felt very safe in the area and the entrance was well lit and easily accessible with a keypad and code. The location is excellent. Under a 10 minute walk to the bus and train station and a similar distance to the beach. There is a supermarket almost opposite plus an ATM. I would definitely use this property again. .

Let me start by confirming that if you are staying less than 7 nights, they do not provide towels...sheets yes but no towels. That said, they will rent you towels for 6€/week and you get a basic bath towel and a hand towel. I can't speak for anyone else but personally I do not travel with a set of towels any more than I travel with a set of sheets. This didn't impress me much. Just wanted others to be prepared. The location of this property is great, especially considering the price. It's a few blocks back from the water but I was fine with that! It's also an easy walk from the train station...less than 10 minutes. The rooms themselves were perfectly fine, again for the price. They were clean and well appointed. I had the studio with the street view. I was on the 1st level (2nd by North American rules) and I had very little issue with noise. The only thing that I heard that woke me was a garbage truck of some sort picking up empty bottles and when the container was emptied in to the truck, the sound of breaking/clanging glass was quite loud. This only happened once while I was there and other than that, the noise from the street was quite tolerable. I would definitely return (with towels).

Very well located just 5 minutes walk from Bus/Train stations. 3 local supermarkets. Reception friendly and helpful. Do check Reception opening times before you travel. Room/Kitchen basic and clean. Microwave, hob, fridge, crockery and utensils. Our room on the Rue Urbana side but it wasn't too noisy so able to eat on the balcony. Quiet at night. Bathroom clean. But only two small towels per person provided.. Not changed unless staying for 2 weeks. Laundry room at 6 euros a wash. Sofa bed comfortable. Sheets clean. Extra pillows available at no extra cost. Television only has French and Italian stations. You will have to pay a city tax which is separate to the booking price. We had a very pleasant stay. Menton beautiful. Would definitely stay there again. So convenient.

I can't review this hotel as I will not get the opportunity to stay there. We are going to the Monaco Grand Prix in just under 2 weeks. We booked this hotel well in advance - in November 2012, in fact. We received the confirmation email at time of booking. The hotel then contacted us all of 3 days ago to say they had overbooked and we no longer had a room. We are now attempting to find alternative accommodation at this extremely late stage, and understandably most hotels and apartments are fully booked already. We are absolutely angry and disgusted, and will never book any of these residences ever again. Overbooking for such a busy time is beyond stupid; nothing like this has ever happened with a hotel booking of mine before and I am looking into making a complaint against this poor excuse of a hotel.
"VERY GOOD LOCATION"
04/02/13 ZAMY73 Milan, Italy
Bright and clean residence, in a great location, close to shops, city center, beaches, old town and train station. Lovely view from the balcony in their "garden view" option. Studios are very small as per balconies, but here you can find wathever you need for a confortable stay, 'cause it's very well equipped. Staff is very nice, multilingual and helpful but, unfortunately, reception opening hours are very limited, so if you need ( as we do ) take a train from midday ( check out time for short stay ) or 10 a.m. ( check outitme for weekly stay ) to 5 p.m., you can't leave your bags in their lugguage room because they're closed !!!!
"A great week in Menton"
06/02/12 DolBrayIreland Bray Ireland
We have just spent a week in an apartment in Residence les Citronniers. Although we expected it to be compact we were a bit disappointed on arrival to see it. However, this was probably due to tiredness from the long journey. Because on close inspection the apartment had everything we needed. We did not do much cooking there - beyond eggs for breakfast and a couple of microwave meals, having had a big lunch out. The only crib we have and its one we have in Spain and more or less everywherwe else - there is not one t.v. station with a word of english - not even the dreaded sky news. The location of the apartment is brilliant. Its 5 minutes walk from the train and bus station - so the whole of the Cote D`Azure is available for you to visit for a few euro. If you are making your own way to Menton from Nice, do not take the bus from outside the airport. It cost us €19 each ! We discovered while there that the train is much cheaper. €4 from Menton to Nice and €1 bus connection to the airport. Its also much quicker by train.
"Slightly overpriced for Grand Prix weekend"
05/30/12 mcnsmith lothian
We travelled to Menton for easy access to the Monaco Grand Prix whilst not paying the Monaco prices. For 4 nights in the residence we paid 670 euros which is a lot given that there are weekly rates starting from 264 euros off peak, but we accepted that it was a peak time and that prices would be increased accordingly. The accommodation is in a great location, well placed for a short walk to both the train and bus stations, and the bus from the airport drops you off at the end of the street. It is right in the heart of the shopping/eating area and the beach is a short walk away. We ate out most days and found the local restaurants to offer a wide selection of reasonably priced, delicious food. It seemed the best time to eat was about 8.30/9pm. Back at the apartment the reception staff were efficient and spoke english. There are no staff on at night but you are given a code to access the main door. Our room was on the 3rd floor. The hall lights are on timers so the hallways can initially be quite dark until you become familiar with where the switches are. Our room was pretty basic comprising of a sofa bed (pretty comfy), TV and unit (no satellite channels) table and chairs, a 2 ring electric hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and sink. Plenty of cutlery, crockery and utensils were provided - even scissors and a bottle opener. There was a coffee maker, but no kettle, only a pot. It would be advisable to bring your own coffee filters and a small supply of dishwasher tablets to avoid having to buy more than needed whilst on holiday. There is a small wardrobe/cleaning supply area (not sure about hanging up clothes next to the brushes!) with the safe and a full length mirror. There is a small bathroom with plenty of storage space. There is a shower and 3/4 sized bath. There was a great supply of hot water and the water pressure was great. Towels are supplied. You need to take your own hairdryer. The room had air conditioning and there is a small balcony with table and chairs. Overall we found the room fit for purpose and very handy - if overpriced. However, it wasn't as clean as it could be - there were lots of cobwebs especially around the lights, curtains and ceiling. Some spills and stains on furniture had not been wiped down and the decor was very dated. We slept with the balcony door open and awoke most mornings to the smell of cigarette smoke coming into the room. On further investigation it transpired that there was a window on the floor below where there was an ashtray overflowing with fag butts. This looked as if it was the place for the cleaners to have a break and would smoke out the window which carried into our room. On the whole we had a good stay but felt it could do with a clean, some decorating and we felt it was a bit expensive for the standard of accommodation.
"excellent for this type of establishment"

I don't need to repeat the positive detailed comments already made about Les Citronniers. I would like to emphasize that the location is ideal, central to everything of interest and necessity. I'd like to add also that I arrived early and left my luggage and then was allowed to check-in a little later before reception was closed for lunch because the room was vacant and already cleaned. There are laundry facilities in the building but many items can be washed by hand and placed on the folding dryers on the balcony. You need to pay extra for WiFi and use your computer in the salon but the price is considerably less than most internet cafes. I have a very comfortable bed at home and rarely find the same in France except in 4 star hotels. The bed was similar to what I have experienced in 2 and 3 star hotels. For what you pay it is a very good value.
"Bring your own bed."

After having visited Menton on a few occasions staying at different hotels we decided to try an apartment this time. We arrived after the reception was closed but a telephone call enabled us to arrive late without any problems. The apartment and the residence were clean and fresh and the little contact we had with the reception was good. The residence is central and walking distance to whatever your interest is. The street below, though at times very busy, did not disturb us at night or day. BUT the apartment was said to be for four people, we were lucky as we were only two. If we had been two more it would have felt a little like standing room only. Four would definitely not have been able to be on the balcony at the same time. Having spent my entire working life in the hotel industry I know the importance of a good bed. This was a total disaster. If there had been more room in the apartment it would have been more comfortable to have slept on the floor.

My wife and I have stayed at Les Citronniers twice, both times for several weeks. The manager spoke excellent English, the most junior desk clerk none, and, the other desk clerk somewhere in between. It was almost almost perfect in the ways that matter to us. - A 40% discount for a lengthy (8 weeks or more) stay. - A stove, refrigerator, utensils and microwave adequate for four people. - A comfortable, cheerful apartment pleasant, for a couple to live in for months. - An easy walk to the covered market, two supermarkets, 12! bakeries and the train station (we did not rent a car). Also, to the Medieval part of town. - About 100 yards from the sea. - A balcony large enough for lunch. - A good modern building; tidy, well managed, and properly heated. However, to get proper value you must be prepared to change your sheets, and clean your own apartment.
