"Good family complex with plenty of activities."
Stayed in a townhouse with 2.5 bedrooms in the Bocage part of the development for a week in Aug 2013. Townhouse was a good size for a family of 4-6, with a decent kitchen, recently decorated and very clean. Plenty of facilities on site for families, and also lots of activities if you want organised things to do. A little like Centerparcs, but more relaxed. […] Nice area for sporting activities, with plenty of cycle paths and nice beaches. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Centre Parcs in the sun"
Resort is located in a beautiful area of France. We went by car so had the freedom to get about the area. There were various types of accommodation on site but we had booked two 4/5 person apartments. On arrival it appeared that they only had one apartment for us but this was sorted and we got keys for two apartments. Unfortunately we had requested […] at least on ground floor apartment but we didn't get this. On hindsight I should have contacted the hotel before we arrived to check on my special request. Our apartment was very clean when we arrived with bed linen waiting for us to make up beds. Bath and hand towels needed to be rented from reception upon arrival. There was only 2 adults and one child in our apartment and it was very adequate. Each apartment was kitted out for 5 people but it would have been very overcrowded if it contained 5 adults. There was a number of restaurants on site but with just a short walk to the port a number of other restaurants can be found. The main pool area is very clean and patrolled by a number of pool guards. Guests are issued with a wrist band on arrival by reception and when we were there these were only checked on busy days. It's worth noting that the colour of band changes weekly. If like us you are staying for longer than a week you need to go back to reception on a Saturday to get a new band for the next day. We were not told this and it caused a bit of an issue on our second Sunday morning when trying to get into the pool area.

Genuine Expedia guest review

Good place to stay. Internet very expensive and slooooooowww. Golf expensive, even bordering on extortionate. Check where you are staying on site as some parts are starting to look and feel drab. Staff good and friendly. Good beach within short ride.
"Cramped and Uncomfortable"

We rented a house for 6 people so that we could have 2 bedrooms. The house was tiny, with virtually no storage space to speak of - we resorted to having a series of carrier bags stacked in one corner of the room. There was an unpleasant smell in the house, as though an animal had crawled behind part of the kitchen and died. To top this off we couldn't even open our door to get some fresh air because we were close to a sewer and the smell of human excrement was overpowering. To top it all off, the beds were so hard that sleep was almost impossible - if you have slept on a thermarest camping mattress at any point you would consider this much more comfortable then our bed. When explaining to the reception staff about the problem we had the typical Gallic shrug! There were plenty of activities for everyone, particularly if you are happy putting your kids into kids clubs every day, but given how tired we were from lack of sleep it was impossible to take part in the activities we wanted. This was not a cheap holiday, and we have absolutely no intention of evere returning to Port Bourgenay.

This is a very good place to spend time in south of France, we had lots to do and the children were incredibly safe. The pools were good and the activiites were easily accessible. I would recommend to anyone.
"Fantastic family holiday"

After ready several negative and picky reviews of this complex I was worried I booked the wrong holiday but once we arrived I was over the moon and thoroughly relieved. Please ignore all bad reviews, we had the best time! Our 2 bed house was more than roomy enough, clean and in good condition. The site was outstanding and well maintained. Our kids, 8&6 had the best time and we got to sunbathe and relax, normally unheard of! We would def return and will also try out more p&v complexes after our fantastic experience.
"Good for sun-worshipping and for exploring."

We spent a week here. A couple of mornings by the pools, a couple of days at the beach in Chateau d'Olonne - about 20 mins up the coast - on the beach and rock pooling. And a day out visiting friends. We were self-catering and found plenty of places in the vicinity to eat out in the evenings, before coming home and playing games. Everyone respects the rules of going indoors and being quiet after 10pm, which is very welcome after years of holidaying in the UK, and there is generally peace until 8am. There's a good Super-U nearby and you get plenty of exercise walking to the activities and facilities within the village itself.
"Great resort (for families)(but you need good weather)"
08/27/13 Gert J Aarschot, Belgium
We rented a holiday house sleeping up to 6 persons, and found ourselves in a nice, cosy and clean cottage house, with 2 bedrooms (sleeping 4) and a couch in the living room, sleeping 2. 2 bathrooms (toilets) and 1 bathroom with shower/bath/toilet. A handy and clean kitchenette adjacent to living/TV-room with direct acces to your terrace/balcony overviewing the grass field next to the swimming pool. Easy for kids (3 boys, aged 9-11) to play in the evening whilst you enjoy a relax night on the terrace. Unfortunately we were quite unlucky with the weather, only 2 great Sunny/warm days ... But excellent resort when traveling with kids, plenty of accomodations, friendly staff in the resort, shops/supermarkets 5-10 mins drive away, but shops and restaurants in the resort village ! Great area.
"Good for families."
Stayed for a week mid Aug 2013 as a family of 4 in a 2.5 bedroom townhouse. Efficient and friendly staff. Townhouse not luxury, but a good size, clean, new and well equipped. Pool spacious and plenty of seatz , and lots of things to do for families in development including an 18 hole golf course, tennis, cycling and kids clubs. Think Centrparcs without the restricted car parking or check in days.
"Do Not Ever Go Here - unless you want to waste money"
08/22/13 SandraD20132013 Bracknell, United Kingdom
This place is a rip off and I would not recommend you have your holiday here. I paid more just for the accommodation then I did for an entire all inclusive two week trip to turkey and I ended up sleeping on a sofa bed all week. The staff were rude, unwelcoming and unhelpful at the best of times. Everything is extortionately expensive and is just not worth it. The area is lovely but would stay elsewhere.
"OUR WEEK IN PORT BOURGENAY VILLAGE - MANOIR AREA"
08/20/13 Mark A Guildford, United Kingdom
My family and I had a wonderful week last week in Port Bourgenay - we were very lucky with the weather. It was a perfect holiday stay for children - loads to do and our apartment was brilliant. We booked sleeps 5/6 apartment which was a good size for the 4 of us. We overlooked the lake plus the golf course which was stunning and entertaining too, watching the many golfers T-ing off! The balcony was a big size too and we ate our breakfast on it every morning. Our children (10 and 6) had bunk beds which they were very happy about but it was a very small room - just enough space to put their suitcases on the floor, and that's about it! The beach is probably about 15-20 mins away via the train 'free' service - too far to walk but we found the train times perfect and enough collection and drop off times too. I would highly recommend coming here and we will be back!

Beautiful place but no oven which is needed. Thought paying for kids club too expensive and prob a waste as when we checked it out it appeared to be all French kids, I had 2 kids aged 15 and one 12 yr old, all activities had to pay extra and felt we paid enough for apt. Maybe it was time we went, mid July, but v few English speaking. But pool area was great
