My stay at Courtyard Marriot was very good (first to stay at a Marriot), my only thing is that I asked for a room away from the elevator and I ended right next to it:(. Overall, I enjoyed the stay, will stay again

"Very disappointed"

Maybe the front check-in lady was having a bad day... She shouldn't be the one at the front. I went here to gamble and enjoy a day away from work. I don't think one of the long term dealers (I had seen him a year before) was also having a bad day... grumpy and somewhat un-aware at times. Don't intend to return to the casino. The place has not changed in ten years since the last time I stayed. No upgrades or updates. The casino is small and probablly the lowest quality of all casinos in Bossier. Have stayed here many times. You get what you pay for. When you compare it to something like the Horseshoe or the El Dorado across the street, sure, the service is worse, the hotel maintenance is poor, the rooms aren't new, and the other hotel guests are...how do you say.... budget appropriate? DJs casino is small and smokey with low ceilings, but they have all the games and machines we like to play. It is pretty easy to get drinks. The dinner seafood buffet was just fine for the money, not horrible, not great. The late night eats from the grill is best value for $. No room service menu in room, one TV broken, and bathtub was a bit dirty; but big deal! It was fun anyways. Staff were great! Room was large, clean and well-maintained. AC did not keep room cooled. Undercurrent of smoke smell in hotel - my purse and clothing smelled of smoke when I left after 3 days. The staff is great, but that was about all, rooms are pretty, but lights hardly worked, the Jacuzzi was broke, the toilet would not flush, had to open the lid and push the button inside the tank. The Internet WIFI, that is not free, you have to pay $10.00, was so slow, that I could not even use it, the 4g on my phone was faster. "Fire everyone!"
I'll make this brief... No! I was assisted in checking in by a manager. She doesn't speak. I get to a disappointing room and decide its only for one night, whatever. Then I go into the bathroom... I thought my college roommate was disgusting and would never go anywhere. Turns out he went to diamondbacks as a maid. Soap scum so thick that you could see […] the water marks as it ran into the drain. There were hairs everywhere. There were in unknown marks, scuffs, drops, and a various assortment of fluids. So... I went to check out just ten minutes after checking in. I saw the manager that helped me at check in. I told her I had just checked in and would not be staying. She took my key and spoke her first word... "Ok". That was it. She didn't ask why or if there was anything she could do. She just said "ok". So for those reasons, I would not recommend this dump. "Just ok this time around."
I love the place. However, I had some bad experiences lately. I made a reservation the week before and made a mistake and booked the wrong night. I called the hotel to fix the reservation and was spoken to like I was an idiot. They were rude and not helpful at all. She ended up hanging up on me! I never called her names or anything like that I never […] deserved to be hung up on. Then after I got this worked out I emailed the supervisor explaining what happened. Never got any response. Just an acknowledgement would have went a long way. However, upon check in I was pleasantly surprised with customer service. The casino is smaller than I remember and not many of the games are up to date. The ones that are are on the main floor of the casino along with all the table games. The wait staff seemed to be more plentiful than in previous visits. The rooms are a hot mess. I love the jacuzzi in the room. The curtains are from when the place was Isle of Capri. The rest of the decor was from Isle of Capri also. Its not bad it just had not be redone. The place needs some updating and new bedding. The room service was to die for. The wait is about normal for room service and priced about pretty normal too. I had the NY Strip and Clam Chowder. I am not kidding it was the best steak I have ever had!!! Check out was a breeze. The beds were really uncomfortable - but to make up for it the room was huge. The front desk staff was not so friendly but every other staff person we ran into (housekeeping, maintenance, restaurant staff, casino staff, security guards) was friendly and happy to have us there. The rooms were very dated..also the jets on the spa tub didn't work at all. A "suite" should have all the amenities, a refrigerator and a microwave at least and this room didn't have either. I was very disappointed that I would have to pay a charge for wifi, when I could get.it at the local retail store down the road for free! Loved the room...the only thing "out dated" was the TV. It was just a standard TV with cable, however the one in the bathroom made up for that. "THINK BEFORE YOU BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!"
Horrible staff. First off the clerk gave me key cards to thee wrong room. Had to go back downstairs because the key cards didn't work!!! Next, I asked the maid who was 4 doors down for more towels, she looked at me and walked into the room she was about to clean and closed the door. A porter coming down the hall took the 2 extra sets needed off of her […] cart. No room service was available at 7:30 pm when I called. They said they were short staffed and were not providing room service. This was one of the perks for selecting this hotel. They didn't have a microwave or fridge in the room. When we went to the buffet, the food was very disappointing. The baked chicken was over cooked. The fish and fried shrimp was extra greasy and very salty. The roast beef was tough. There was no lettuce on the salad bar. The ranch dressing was rank. The broccoli was over cooked and had a few good stalks mixed in. The Asian green beans had the same fate. "No airconditioner it was hot in both rooms we had"
It was dreadful, the beds were not comfortable, but the airconditioner was the worst, we walked in the room and it was so hot it took our breath away, we called maintence they came up and reset it, that helped for a few minutes we left the room came back and it was hot again, maintence came in stated they were having trouble with all the units, he reset […] it again, it worked for a few minutes, we had two rooms and both of them were hot, we could not sleep very well. The bathtub was great it was a large jacuzzi tub, we needed that so we could soak in cold water due to the heat of the room.
