The staff was super helpful and friend, room was clean, modern and chic. Was in a good location, close to restaurants etc. One night was a little loud with a party/music in the Daddy Cool bar but wasn't a show stopper. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks!

we were not expecting to be in a trailer. There was a drip in the bath the first two nights, finally fixed on the third. The trailer was novel for the first couple of days but we did find it cramped. Management moved us to a very nice room when space opened on our last night. The location was great right in the middle of activity.

While overall, the hotel was fine, and the service was good, I do not recommend it. We opted for a trailer, but were disappointed, despite quizzing the bellhop on the best feature of the hotel and hearing "the trailer park." The trailers look great in the photos, and we thought it would be fun, but in reality, we found the trailer decor to be worn: […] the curtains were too small for the windows and hard to close (necessary due to the city and the roof "trailer" park); there were no wall hooks to hang clothes on (necessary in such tight quarters); the toilet seat was uncomfortable; the windows did not closely properly (necessary to secure valuables, and we had to attempt to close them from outside the trailer, and the decor just seemed slightly dingy. This was actually a concern when we booked it (how do they clean the trailers????), but we had opted for adventure. We are used to roughing it, and spent a week on safari in a tent, but the trailers were less than we expected for the price and we moved to a regular room after one night; our room inside was satisfactory, but facing the back of the building, and hearing much music from above, and below, and from next door rooms at times, was certainly nothing special, and was definitely not worth the price. For example, there was no iron in the room, and when I called room service, one was delivered, but we had to go out, and when we returned, the iron had already been taken away. So house-keeping had one iron for the hotel?? Try the trailers if you're 21 and want something different, or if you book two trailers with friends, in good weather, and can sit out on the roof top deck. Otherwise, choose another hotel. Great hotel, great location. The street noise can be a little loud, however this was during the World Cup, so perhaps not a concern at other times. Very busy street, so felt safe even at night. Very clean hotel and great rooftop deck to lounge. The locals come to this hotel for drinks, so its a great place to be!

Well placed near downtown and easy to get to. Also, clean and comfortable with good service. However, Long Street didn't meet my expectations -- too grungy, not that many late night spots. Furthermore, I read a lot of reviews that Grand Daddy had a nice rooftop bar and another internal club/bar. The club was closed on a thursday night, and the rooftop […] bar was small, overwhelmed by the people staying in the Airstreams, and closed very early 9:30 -- so much for the promise of nightlife at the hotel. Had a wonderful stay here. Even extended our stay by one night we were so impressed! All the staff were very helpful, from the front desk to the porters. The great restaurant staff and delicious food meant we ate here several times during our stay. The turn down service complete with sweets on the pillow was an unexpected and lovely touch. The only […] slight problem was that the shower screen did not stop the bathroom floor from getting wet and we had to use an unnecessary amount of towels to keep it dry. Housekeeping always did a good job of returning the bathroom back to normal. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone. Read more

Had a very cozy stay in our jogn & Yoko Airstreamer on the roof top with the view, bar and Friday evening concert. Grand Daddy's staff were always very cheerful and helpful in every possible way and made us feel at home. Recommended! :D
