This hotel was very close to South St. station for those visitors coming from bus or train. It was clean, respectable and reasonably priced.

Great stay...staff was very polite, professional and helpful. Also warm and friendly, as was the lobby and our room. We were also pleasantly surprised with the Continental breakfast, and the options it offered. Room was neat, clean and updated w flat-screen TV. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great value in the mid-price range!

"Cozy Boutique Hotel at a Convenient Location"
Nice boutique hotel. Location is great. Near nice restaurants in Back Bay, and about 5 to 10 minutes wall to T (subway). The only complaint is the low water pressure shower head. It was hard to take a shower. Besides that, it's all good.
"Back Bay Hotel"
I travel to Boston frequently to visit my daughter who attends college at NEU. The location is very convenient. The staff is fantastic. Concierges Heather and Justin were over the top with suggestions and spot on each time. Ana in housekeeping was very good at providing me the special details of my requests. And the front desk accommodated my for a […] very late check out on the last day, at no additional charge, even though at first they said there would be one. But I'm picky and like a really clean well kept hotel. My room room was a superior, and overlooked a very noisy alley. The furniture in sitting areas in the lobby were tattered and worn. The bar and restaurant left a lot to be desired. The bar (Tim the bartender was great) ambiance was pub like, not my style. The restaurant was tired and old. Overall, not sure i would stay there again as the overall feel of the hotel seemed old and tired. But the staff gets a Gold A-plus! Read more

We were 3 adults in a room for 2 and we paid the extra charge for the 3 person why? this way of doing is wrong
"GREAT EXPERIENCE"

"Back Bay Hotel Jan 2012"
A comfotable hotel in a great location. Spent four nights there, had to ask for a change a room after two, because of a electric generator parked on the corner of the next block opposite our room making it impossible to sleep. Front desk arranged this without a problem. Cuffs' Bar had a nice atmosphere and was a good place to relax with a drink.
"Back Bay Hotel in Boston"
Lovely hotel with great staff...very helpful and sincerely friendly; Very convenient for public transportation and restaurants and site-seeing (Boston Common). Was low level hum (sound) in room at night from hvac(?) that was disturbing in our first room on 3rd floor but quite ok in our 2nd room on the 10th floor.
We stayed 1 night for New Years. Was perfect for our needs and within walking distance to restaraunts and bars. The hotel bar was comfy and we enjoyed relaxing there before and after dinner

Great service, great location, very clean & well maintained rooms, nice little bar and good breakfast (for a hotel). The rooms are just a little bit dated now, and a little on the small side. Will certainly return when staying in this area again.
"Very Good"
Nice, comfortable, clean, great location, great service, priced fairly, great food in the on-site bar/restaurant ... what's not to like?
"Back Bay in Boston"
My husband, myself and a 12 year old son spent five days at this hotel. The room was very small and completely different from the photos that were presented in the web. The window faced a construction site with two cranes. When we arrived, the light in the foyer was not working. The hair dryer was also broken. When we used the bathroom, the glass shelf […] came out and could have caused an accident. This hotel is very expensive but is far from being a four star hotel. You can do better at a Marriott or even a Holiday Inn. On top, they charged 43.00 per night to park the car. Read more

"Great hotel"
I stayed six nights. The hotel is great and the room was very comfortable. Staff was friendly. Walking distance to the nearest T station. I would definitely stay again if the price is right on hotels.com :)
"The Back Bay Hotel in Boston"
Wonderful....location within walking distance of The Boston Commons, Newbury Street, and Symphony Hall where we went to see the Boston Pops...came back for drinks and dinner at CUFFS....terrific service, very amicable staff...would stay there again and again! A warm, inviting hotel with Irish hospitality.
"Back Bay Hotel"
The staff was very helpful and friendly, the room clean and the restaurant food was very good. The place was well located and attractive. We would stay there again if they fix their internet issues. The claim that free WiFI was available was totally inaccurate. We could not get any access in our room and barely in the lobbies. Even the wired access […] didn't really work. So don't come planning to do business here. We were told they are installing a new system. That may solve the problem Read more
"The back bay hotel in boston"
I was extremely dissapointed in our stay here. Me and my husband decided to stay in town for his birthday. After deciding we wanted to try a new hotel we thought we found the perfect one. We found out quickly how misleading this hotel is. One of the main reasons we choose this hotel was because of the great bar and sitting areas it has. we were never […] told however in booking, that both would be closed for private functions that night. We splurged for the deluxe king room and were greatly let down when not only were we on only the third floor but our room was tiny and outdated. I promise there was nothing "deluxe" about it. To finish the stay off we figured maybe we could at least get a decent breakfast out of it. We were excited to hear on the website that they had a breakfast room with pastries and a barista serving Starbucks coffee. Very far from the truth! The pastries were no where to be found and the "barista" was a simple coffee pump with the name starbucks on it. Read more

"Great Hotel, Need Some Unscented Bath Product"
Everything was great, only complaint was that all the soaps and bathroom items were VERY scented. If you have sensitive skin bring your own soap/shampoo. That is just a minor complaint. The hotel, staff, location and everything else were amazing. I would highly recommend this hotel.
"Wonderful weekend stay in Boston"
The Back Bay Hotel offers a great location and the luxuries of a boutique hotel. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. A bit on the small side and the street noise was a bit much on a Saturday night. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel.
"Located near station"
We chose this hotel as it was near the Back Bay Station and reasonable walking distance to the Centre of Boston. We had a room with coffee making which was great.Would have been nice to have had a brwakfast included option but we got croissants froma nearby supermakrket and enjoyed breakfast in our room. Was a very nice hotel.
"Back Bay Hotel"
Hotel provided a great place to gather for family get together- good bar with very good bar food - nice accommodations and staff were very pleasant and helpful when we had special requests. Off the main avenue but close walk to everything - would stay there again.
This hotel was comfortable, clean, close to sights with a courteous staff. We would stay again
"Great HOTEL.... poor room service"
I always stay at this hotel... 2-3 times per year. I love it. It's clean, luxorious and is in a great location. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. However - the room service is poor quality... it's considered a 4/5 star hotel....and I ordered room service on 2 occasions and it was VERY SLOW. The first occasion was for a cup of limes (i was […] drinking in room and needed to mix liquor), I waited 30 minutes and nobody ever came, so I ended up leaving for the night to go out. It may have come after that? The following day I ordered some trash bags and that took 22 minutes to get there. Aside from food being ordered which may take time to cook, prepare..etc I think room service should be no more than 10 minute wait. It takes 2 minutes for staff to run up to your room and drop something off. 30 minutes is ridiculous. Read more
"Great Location!"
I picked this hotel based on location and other on-line reviews. Neither disappointed. The hotel is a short walk from the Back Bay Amtrak Station as well as a short walk to Newbury Street, the T, the South End, the Shops at Copley and Prudential and the Public Garden/Boston Common. The hotel staff is lovely and accommodating. I needed a sewing kit […] - someone brought one within 5 minutes. We accidentally left an iPhone charger in the room; by that evening it had been located and was ready to send to us. The things that prevent me from giving the hotel a perfect score are minimal: -- the hotel has Frette linens but still has an old school Panasonic cassette(!)/CD player in the room. -- the maid removed our bathmat and never replaced it -- the overall lighting in the room is extremely dim; the lamps could have taken 3-way bulbs but did not have them. Overall, it was a lovely stay and I would return! Read more
"The Back Bay Hotel--One of the Best Hotels"
My wife and I would rate the Back Bay Hotel as one of the best in which we've stayed--and we've stayed at some good ones. We won't consider staying anywhere else on our next trip to Boston.

"The Back Bay Hotel **right in the heart of Boston*"
Great hotel and great location. The Back Bay is located only a quick walk away from all the great parks and shopping. Many restaurants surround the area with delectable food. Highly recommended.
"The Back Bay Hotel in Boston"
We found a great deal online and stayed at the Back Bay for one night during Columbus Day weekend. Had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful building (inside and out), comfortable, luxurious room (with a bonus small chaise sofa that was perfect for my son to sleep on when he and his sister wouldn't stop bugging […] each other!). Valet parking is a bit pricey, but hey, it's Boston. Very conveniently located--an easy walk to the Public Garden and other attractions, as well as several restaurants. Read more

"loved it!!"
The staff was so friendly and the place was so clean. If I were to complain about anything is was the air conditioning in the room, it got very cold and was blowing on my head. I couldn't figure out how to adjust the temperature, to complicated. Other than that...I loved it and would stay again.
"The Back Bay Hotel -- in the center of things"
The staff was helpful, the bartender at Cuffs was great although the security guy was a little scary. Loved the location and the room. Funny decor in the elevator and a coffee maker in the room would have made it perfect.
"Back Bay Hotel Review 9/2011"
My recent stay at the Back Bay Hotel was enjoyable for the most part. The only real disappointment was the 7 am jackhammers across the street. There was no sleeping in, that's for sure. While it is a somewhat temporary situation (due to building reno), it is bothersome and would help if the noise didn't start quite sooo early. On the positive side, […] I ordered in room service for breakfast both mornings and it was deilicious! Very impressive especially, for a hotel breakfast. And the coffee was good too! Hotel could use a bit of a bightening up though. At least in the rooms, if not the lobby. The decor was a bit dark and heavy for my liking. Read more
"The Back Bay Hotel in Boston is excellent"
My family of four stayed at the Back Bay Hotel for three nights. We felt very welcome at the hotel. The staff at the restaurant where we ate breakfast each day were congenial and helpful. In addition the hotel made arrangements on short notice for a party of 16 people for lunch one day. I have no complaints!
"BACK BAY HOTEL ****"
This is just a lovely hotel in the middle of everything. The staff are warm and knowledgeable. The rooms are terrific as are the public spaces and the restaurants.
"Close to everything!!"
I went to Boston for a conference at the Hynes Convention Center. The Back Bay Hotel is close to everything. The Convention Center was within walking distance. A shopping center, a grocery store, and several places to eat were very near-by. Also, the subway system was a very short distance fromthe hotel. Highly recommended!

"Looking for "Hospitality" not just a hotel?"
The people at this hotel were fantastic, from the front door greeting, to check-in, to extra care delivered to the door, to helping at check-out! When my flight was cancelled last minute, the concierge had me rebooked on a new flight before I could call home and arrange childcare... The room was lovely, bed comfortable, and what better location is there […] to Boston overall? I ran a few blocks to the river, had dinner in the South End, and attended business meetings in Copley. I'll keep coming back here. Read more
so beautiful! friendly staff. lots of areas to be cozy on the property to sit and talk.
"Excellent!!"
Stayed here for an extended weekend and was very happy with the hotel. Two things that made things a little less enjoyable was that there was not a coffee maker in the room. Dunkin and Starbucks are right down the street. And no mini-bar. Other than that great hotel!

"Back Bay Hotel has great staff"
Excellent hotel with nice rooms, central location, and extremely efficient and polite staff. We had to move to a different room through no fault of the hotel itself and the staff could not have been more accommodating. Will stay here again on next trip to Boston.
