"Very good hotel in good location"
Good price/service relationship. Clean, moderen and very good locationGenuine Expedia guest review
The Loews Boston Back Bay gets 5 stars from me for their excellent customer service. Everyone from check-in to the parking valets and the room steward was friendly and accomodating. The location was perfect for accessing Newbury St., Copley shopping and the theaters. Our room as spacious, comfortable, clean and quiet. "in definite need of a renovation!"
Disappointed! The room was tiny, worn and not as advertised. Furniture was broken, wallpaper ripped, no where to sit except next to the TV! Overpriced restaurants and uncomfortable lobby. The only bright spot was the staff. They were, without exception, friendly, polite and accommodating. THe location was good. Walking distance to many sights in to […] wn. "Spur of the moment"
Welcomed graciously by the staff. Check in was quick and efficient and check out was automatic. Great lounge where we enjoyed a cocktail before seeing a show which made its location near the theatre district a great benefitGenuine Expedia guest review
"Didn't live up to billing"
Although the description of the room indicated complimentary bottled water, the lone bottle in the room bore a $7 price tag. The furniture in the room was pretty beat up -- the desk had a broken leg and the dresser drawers wouldn't stay shut. Although there was a doorman on duty for most of our stay, they weren't overly interested in opening doors or […] helping with bags. I had stayed at this property previously when it was owned by Jurys and had expected a similar level of service. Overall, there are other hotels in the area that offer better hospitality for less. Not sure I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel that is comfortable and accommodating."
Have stayed here twice in 6 months, each at 9 or 10 days at a time. Very pretty and clean and neat. I was disappointed that it was not more guest suited in the rooms. I don't want to sound upset or spoiled, as I don't stay this long in a hotel normally, but I would have liked things (for the money - it was very expensive each night) like a chocolate […] left out, or the refrigerator in room stocked with beverages. Also, when I would get coffee and toast each morning, the toast was cold and never in a basket and never covered in any way....just slapped on a plate and cold and hard. All small things, since it is a lovely hotel, but for the money, it just didn't feel special at all. I feel badly to say that.....but there was not a comfortable reading chair either. "Why one goes back to Loews Boston Back Bay"
Comfort, cleanliness, polite and accommodating! Their complimentary coffee service in the lobby is their private roast and excellent. The doorman is charming and always had a greeting and a smile. The walls must be thick as never heard my neighbors or guests in the hallway. Location - close to 2 subways!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent Central Location"
The location could hardly be better. Excellent access to both the orange and green T lines (about 2 blocks), easy access to the red line (less than a mile's walk), and very close to many central Boston sites. Very attractive hotel, throughout. Our room always was very clean. The two double bed room was surprisingly roomy for 2 adults and 2 children […] (9 & 11 year-old boys). All staff were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. We were especially pleased that they paid attention to and fulfilled our requests for hypoallergenic pillows and to refrain from using air freshener (made through an on-line reservation). While the hotel bar is titled "Cuffs-An Irish Bar," about the only thing Irish about it is that it is in Boston, but it was a nice place to wind down at night. "Suited our needs perfectly"
We were in Boston for two purposes. One to visit an old friend who was in town, two for a meet and greet with a potential adopter of our foster pug. The hotel was easy to find, located right off of the highway. Our arrival went smoothly. Valet service was clutch. The room was clean, and comfortable. Not a view of the city as our confirmation had stated. […] But convenient for potty breaks. We left our cooler in the car, and called down to the desk. They brought it up right away. Not long there after, we received a lovely care package for the pugs. We ordered room service, the food was delicious, and reasonable. Just like going out for dinner in the city, but we were able to relax in the room, and have the dogs with us. They were only disappointed that we didn't order them anything from the special pet menu. The first evening, we were able to visit with our friends late, after the game out on the patio of the hotel. There was a park nearby, for walking the dogs. The staff was so accommodating, and encouraged us when we asked if we could have the visit with the adoptive family in the comfortable lobby area. They even asked on check out if it was a good match. It was, and our foster went home with her forever family that day. We will definitely return to Loews for the purpose of a meet and greet, and for leisure with our own crew. "Couldn't have been better"
Wonderful staff, great location, great value. They had a long weekend rate so by staying until Tuesday the room was very cheap for what you get. I often stay at the boston park plaza right up the street but never again. Lots of great little things like robes in the room, a very nice shower, and the shampoo/conditioner bottles were a good size instead […] of those tiny things u cant even wash your hair with. "Good, except for the AC"
The Loews Hotel in Boston is close to everything and is a beautiful building. Unfortunately, the A/C in our room didn't get cold enough--an unfortunate happening during the hottest week of the year.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stay at Loews"
Staff are great. All helpful and professional. However, the desk chair was torn and broken. The other furniture is extremely worn and outdated, as is the carpeting. There are permanent rust marks around the metal in the bathroom sink - very unsightly. Bottom line - senior executives must do room by room inspections of some of the rooms and bring these […] facilities up to Loews standards. Thank you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Customer Service Makes Up for Many Things"
I chose this hotel based on price and location. Everything in the area was either inferior, or over my budget. A late night check-in went very smoothly. The next day is when our adventure started. Upon returning to our room at 11PM, we noticed that the maid service was never done. Obviously too late to have housekeeping come in, the late night front […] desk manager volunterred to change the sheets himself (we declined the offer). But, he gave us 'comped breakfast' for the rest of our stay). Then, the head of security dropped off clean towels & bathroom supplies. In addition, he gave us 2 of those bottles of water that they charge exhorbitant prices for (for free). That made me decide that I will always choose Loews hotels over other ones. I am a 'customer for life'. The breakfast is not that good - and is overpriced. But for us, it was free. Free wi-fi is unlimited - meaning no limit on the number of devices. Some high-end hotels limit the number of devices (even for paid wi-fi). I will definitely back to this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, decent hotel"
Great location, but the rooms could use some upgrades. They were clean and nice, just overpriced for a run-of-the-mill hotel room. No iPod docks, the showers/bath should be changed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Swanky and comfortable with friendly staff"
Previously Boston police headquarters, the hotel now houses the aptly named Cuffs Bar and Grill. Up the steps and into the lobby, there’s a vibe of contemporary blended with Art Deco; it’s warm and inviting but cool enough to feel anonymous. At the counter, we’re greeted by a friendly desk clerk who kindly tells us our room is available, but if we wouldn’t […] mind waiting 20 minutes, she could arrange for a better corner room. I open the door to a spacious, well appointed corner room with plenty of natural light and contemporary, elegant furnishings. It’s quiet as well - nice considering traffic in Boston can be unexpectedly noisy. We're quite close to the Boston Back Bay main shopping area, and at the price we paid, we felt it was a good value. Only complaint would be the defective dresser where the drawers kept sliding open, and the CD player with no iPod/iPad docking station (it *is* 2013...). I'd recommend it though - nice place. "Convenient location, not thoroughly impressed"
Paid $506.04 for two nights for a deluxe king room. Walking in we first noticed the carpet looked dirty/stained. The TV countertop also looked very dirty but was actually damaged. Just looked bad when walking into the room. Room was large enough for the king bed but not much more. The bathroom garbage can foot control opener did not work, so we had […] to open with our hands. After walking all day we came back to the room and discovered that the room temperature was very, very warm (actually hot). We couldn't turn the heat down or off! We waited in the hallway until the problem was corrected by the hotel maintenance person. The problem was handled efficiently. On the positive side the staff was very friendly. The doormen were always smiling and cordial. Starbucks coffee offered in the main lobby area in the morning, however there wasn't a coffee maker in the room. The location is very convenient to the subway or within walking distance to many sites. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we didn't have any problems with noise from the hallway or adjacent rooms. Our room certainly needs some updates to improve it's appearance. Not sure I would pay this much for the same type of room again. Definitely not a luxury hotel room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A very good hotel for business travelers."
This is a comfortable hotel with excellent service. The location is excellent in terms of being close to shopping at Copley and Prudential as well as Newbury Street. It's a short 3 block walk to the Back Bay subway station so you can get to other locations in Boston if you don't mind navigating the system. There's a great bakery, two drug stores, and […] some very good restaurants close by, so it has the services any vacationer or business person could want. The exercise room is a little small and it has relatively limited equipment, but it's enough to get in a full workout if you know how to use the machines and free weights. The elevators are a tad small, in part because this is an older building that was renovated to be a hotel. Other than that, I thought this was a great place to stay. It's obviously priced comparable to other 4+ star hotels, but keep an eye out for specials. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"I give it a 5 Start Rating"
So glad I did not let a low review stop me from staying here. I had made reservations some time ago and then the week before our trip I read a pretty bad review and started looking for another hotel but decided to stick it out..... WOW, this has been one of the best of the several hotel we have stayed at in the last year. We arrived early and were able […] to get checked into our room. It was a King Suite on the 3rd floor rm 320. It was spacious, with a very very comfy bed and pillows. the bathroom was large and even had a towel warmer(nice touch) the robes were very soft. It is a great location, we walked to the hotel from the Back Bay train station, we were close to Fenway, the trolley and shopping. We were easily granted a late check out when asked, every associate of the hotel we encountered was very very nice and helpful. I give it a 5 star rating Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful Anniversary Getaway"
My husband and I got a room here for 3 nights over the weekend of our anniversary. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a friendly front desk receptionist who kept us chatting for the few minutes it took for the room to get its final inspection. When we got to the room, everything was very clean, the bathroom was beautiful and the bed incredibly comfortable. […] On the 7th floor, you hear little to no noise at all. However, if you are looking for a spectacular view, which we were not, this is not the hotel for you. My husband and I were also pleased to find that just about anything you want to do is easily within walking distance and/or various T stops. Compared to other hotels in the area, it was a great deal and I have nothing negative to say about it. We would absolutely come back here in the future for any special occasion. "Simple and Perfect for a stay in Boston"
The hotel itself is kind of bordering the craziness of Boyleston. So it's perfect! It is a 3 block from Newbury Street, which was great for me. The Hotel has a great lobby and just very simple and chic. No frills here. The room is very spacious and cozy. "reasonably priced 4 star hotel"
This hotel is located in very good location in Boston. I used the valet service to valet my auto and found it to be very easy and reasonably priced compared to near by parking decks. The hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly. My room was modern and very clean. The hotel should update their website a bit. I did not receive a complimentary […] bottle of water in my room, instead I found a large bottle of Fiji water with a price tag of $7.00 on the dresser. The valet parking fee was incorrect on the website, listing it at $42.00 but actual fee was $46.00. I did not concern myself with the very small additional fees, I felt this hotel was worth what I spent and I would consider staying at this hotel again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We had stayed at two different hotels in the 4 yrs that our granddaughter went to Conservatory of Arts bc those hotels were closer to her school. "Lowes Back Bay"
If you are staying here with the intentions of it "looking" like a Lowes property-beware. Lowes just purchased the existing hotel (I believe the Back Bay Hotel) in February. The entire hotel -lobby, restaurant & rooms are in dire need of makeover/renovations. Which I was told were going to be happening in Nov. of this year. Until then, though, you […] are paying Lowes prices for a room in a hotel that is not of Lowes standards. It was clean but the carpet was run down, the furniture old & chipped. "Good location and nice for a short trip"
I had a good experience at the Loew's. The location is great and staff was very friendly. My room was clean and comfortable. I stayed for three nights and was not bothered by noise, as with many other hotels I've stayed. There are several amenities that would have been nice, such as coffee all day (it's only available from 6 to 11am) or filtered water […] that is readily available. It would have been great to have a coffee maker in the room. The shower temperature doesn't get very hot and the hair dryer is hidden in a bag in the closet. The provided toiletries are nice. I did not visit the restaurants. I had no issues with the wifi and would consider staying again, as the hotel met my needs and was pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Design Dream"
Enjoyed the very attractive design elements, especially in the public rooms. Great breakfast (feta and spinach omelette, bacon and a pot of coffe), but shockingly expensive at $55, all-in. "A Great Hotel"
I am a bit of a hotel snob so I am usually pretty brutal in my reviews. However, I loved this hotel! The service was just outstanding. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Deepak, the porter, took time out to show us some of the hotel's history and gave my 6-year old a coloring book and a few chocolates to boot. The rooms are clean and stylish, […] coffee was hot and good in the morning, and the basement bar was a great place to hang out. We choose to stay at Loew's Back Bay Hotel because it is about a 10 minute walk to our daughter's home. "Too expensive for what you get"
This hotel, albeit centrally located and convenient, has very poor amenities. No coffee in the room; no fridge; although they touted "free coffee" in the lobby, both large urns were empty - didn't stay for them to be filled; no breakfast included; no "free internet" if you exceed 15 minutes.
