I was a bit disappointed in this hotel for the price. First off, I selected a KING size when booking and was given a Queen instead. We thought about checking with the front desk to see if we could move - but we had a long day of driving and had already been given the keys and told the wrong room number once so we were tired and decided to leave it as […] is. Plus we were only there for two nights. Then we noticed that the bed was the hardest bed I've ever felt in my life. I know that some people prefer firmer beds than others - and I know nothing is as good as our own bed at home, but this was ridiculous. I don't know if ALL of their beds are like the one we had, but I don't want to find out. We didn't get a good nights sleep while we were there due to this issue. The staff was great - don't get me wrong and maybe they would've been nice enought to move us had we asked, but I really don't think you should have to - especially after spending this amount of money. I had already had to go back downstairs once for the room key issue and had a long day of driving - the last thing I should have to do is ask to be moved to the proper size bed and one that is comfortable. "Not up to Hilton standards!"
This hotel is decent but nothing special. First, when we arrived we were told that parking was $27 a night! We must have missed this when we booked! Since we were staying 3 days we would've paid almost $90 just for our car to stay the weekend? Anyway, we found a garage down the rode a 3 minute walk from the hotel and it's $15 a night! Secondly, the […] air didn't work properly in our room. Thirdly, it's poorly lit, creeped me out a bit! Lastly, as I am a smoker I was shocked to see that besides the pool on the 18th floor there was no designated smoking area. Had to travel to ground floor and step out front to smoke when the pool was closed and there was no ashtray! I don't like to litter and I don't see why they would want cigarette butts in front of there hotel! I wasn't the only person doing this as there was a pile of butts! I also have to say that after staying at the nicest Comfort Suites I've ever stayed at,for 2 days before coming to New Orleans I would recommend you find somewhere else to stay! I seen excellent reviews for this hotel and I didn't see what they hype was about! If I could say one good thing it would be that the walk to Bourbon St. was short! The hotel was disappointing, not bad but certainly not Hilton caliber. It was very plan; the mattresses were hard; the beds were not plush; the room was no better than a much cheaper hotel, and it had a motel smell.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"If you want to sleep don't stay in this hotel"
Staff was nice and helpful! Rooms are outdated, didn't sleep for 4 nights, worst mattress I have ever slept in and we travel alot!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Located barely outside the French Quarter, makes for a nice break from all the action but close enough to enjoy when needed!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hilton Garden Inn"
The rooms a a bit old but the service is excellent. We were very happy to saty there and will go back again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The staff was very nice and knowledgable. The lobby was clean and classy, yet our room felt a bit dirty. We also had a non-smoking room, but had an overwhelming smoke scent. We were in town for 5 nights for a mini-vacation and wedding, and found ourselves wishing we had booked the hotels reccomended by the wedding party. When we return we will likely […] pay the little extra for the Westin or comparable. If you don't mind the unclean feeling, it was a good deal and in a great spot in the Quarter. "Great Fub. Great Value."
Brilliant Location, fantastic roof top pool and wonderful and friendly staff. Couldn't have hoped for more at this price point.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stay in New Orleans at the Hilton was a super place for a girls getaway. Making our stay the best possible was because of the knowledge and helpfulness of King and Tim. Sure hope they are appreciated by their bosses, since they are the best of the best. Location was great and enabled us to walk to so many of the sites. Outdoor pool on the 18th floor […] was a great place to "chill out" and enjoy the view. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We enjoyed a long weekend at this hotel and were very pleased with all aspects of our stay. We drove our car and valet parked. Staff was responsive and helpful with parking, loading and unloading the vehicle. Very comfortable, clean room. Enjoyed a great breakfast one morning. We stayed during Jazzfest, so the hotel - and ALL of New Orleans, for that […] matter - was quite busy. Convenient location - close, but not in the middle of the French Quarter. "Great location and value!"
We found this hotel to be the perfect location for our New Orleans visit. It is quiet and away from the craziness, but only a three-block walk to Bourbon Street. It is the about a block away from a St Charles streetcar stop. We walked everywhere from this location. The room was exceptionally clean with a huge bathroom and a very comfy bed. They allowed […] us an early check-in and a late check-out. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will stay here every time I return to New Orleans... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Well when me and my wife got to the hotel they gave us the room and it was on the 18th floor,I said wow we have the penthouse suite.when we got to the room when in we open up the window shades we just seen walls all the way around no view of the city.for 160.00 a night you would think you will get a view.well anyway call the front desk they gave me […] a better room with a view still got charge for that inconvenient . "Very near French Quarter but quiet"
We were treated with great respect and friendliness by ALL staff members & would definitely recommend this property for anyone who enjoys the French Quarter scene but doesn't need the attendant late-night noise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a very nice hotel, very clean and the staff were very courteous and helpful. The in-house chef that prepares the meals was super nice and a great cook. I tried Boudin for the first time while here and I had to go back for more! Overall this hotel is great, the perfect location, awesome views, nice heated pool and a decent fitness room. The […] only downside is that the Valet is a little expensive you'd be better off parking somewhere else and walking as the valet was about $31 a day after taxes. Overall I'd stay here again, everything downtown is pretty much within walking distance. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice room; they were fully booked for rooms with 2 double beds when we checked in, which is what I reserved; so that was disappointing. But the desk clerk was accomodating with roll away beds for our kids. It worked out fine. Great location if you want to visit the French Quarter. Breakfast was expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location ! Near everything. Carpet needs to be changed out in the room (some spots) other wise no complaints. Fast elevators and friendly service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The otherside of Canal St"
This property is located in the top half of bank building (Lobby in on the 11th Floor). The rooftop view is of west New Orleans (Superdome). The location is a good one in my opinion as the cross street, Carondelet St., is on the "St. Charles" Trolley line (Garden District). So travel to that side of town is very easy. Caronedelet St 2 blocks in the […] opposite direction turns into Bourbon St. were you can find all the jazz, food and adult beverages you want within 5 minutes. If you come here by car know that it is valet parking only and it is pricey but the location makes up for it in the location not needing a car really. The hotel food is pretty standard for Hilton Garden Inn breakfast. The pool is not much of a pool (no laps) as it is not much more than a oversized hot tub with no jets. But it is warm. The was quite enough though I was near the elevator so late at night you can hear the whoosh of the cars going by. The neighborhood, even at night seems pretty safe as the property is on the other side of Canal St. All the floors except 11 require key card access. I would stay at this hotel again. We had a really nice stay. I got there early for check in and they made sure I got what I requested! They also were very friendly. The room was nice. Only one guy helping with your bags for the whole hotel so it took a long time for them to get to us to help. Overall had a nice time staying there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This Hilton Garden Inn was a standard hotel, but provided a great alternative to saying directly in the Quarter. 2-3 block walk to get to Bourbon, convenient to Streetcar stops. Would definitely recommend for short trips to NOLA.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Missed Maid Service"
After returning from a day out sight seeing and to prpare for a night out on Bourbon Street, we discovered that our room did not get maid service all day. I called the front desk and they were very rude. The desk attendant asked me if the "Do Not Disturb Sign" had been left on the door and I told her definitely not. We wanted service that day so I had […] made sure the sign was not left on the door. The desk attendant then said she would have to check the maids records for that day to see if the "Do Not Disturb Sign" was on the door. "I DO NOT APPRECIATE BEING CALLED A LIAR". At over $200 a night I expect better service from a Hotel. Also the air conditioner quit the first night and thge maintenance technician spent 2 hours in the middle of the night fixing it. He came to the room without proper tools and parts. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I arrived late to the hotel due to a delayed flight. I was given a room behind the elevator making it difficult to sleep. This was compounded that check out was at 11am...having not gotten much sleep I was late getting up. At exactly 11:01 the housekeeper was knocking on the the door. I told her I needed 30 more minutes. 20 minutes later she knocked […] again and entered before I even came to the door. Entirely unacceptable service. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they were hardly phased by the situation. I would not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place but needs follow-up."
Rate, location and property were all great - but had issues that relate to processes which need improvement. Bathroom had no shampoo, creamers by in-room coffee maker had expired and were like sludge, and A/C unit was loud and disruptive to sleep on night #1 and died on day #2. Housekeeping staff needs to be a bit more alert to details, and preventative […] maintenance would have prevented the A/C issues, though they did send a tech immediately who swapped out the A/C unit and housekeeping brought shampoo and good creamers on day #2. Had these issues been addressed before we arrive rather then after we had to make several calls, I would have rated this hotel as excellent. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Location is the best part about this hotel. Two blocks from Bourbon Street. Rooms are very basic. Nothing fancy. Bed was hard and uncomfortable. "Great location, helpful staff"
Best thing, location.Right close to Canal and Bourbon. That's where you want to be. Especially at NOLA, we didn't want to take a chance with a shady location, knowing how anywhere in NOLA beyond the French Quarters is kinda dangerous. Also, you can walk back drunk from Bourbon street quite comfortably. :) Trust me, that is a big advantage. They probably […] didn't replace our sheets or the coffee etc. in the first day. We were sleeping late in the morning. So that might have been a reason. We were two bachelor guys, so we didn't care too much about this stuff. Other than that, the staff was friendly, arranged for our cab at 4 in the morning. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Service needs major improvement, rooms are good."
The rooms were not bad and the hotel was close to Canal and Burbon Street. The service was not minimally satisfying. I was misled by the staff multiple times and given conflicting information. I was really disappointed when the kitchen served me food that was not appetizing or as described on the menu. After spending the day sightseeing I decided to […] grab a bite to eat after the front desk suggested me to try their kitchen area. I ordered a barbcue shrimp wrap. The sandwich wasn't cheap and it was literally boiled baby shrimp, cole slaw, and a tortilla. There was no bbq to the whole sandwich. They would not accomodate me and replace the meal with another item, I just expected something that had bbq in the title to actually be bbq flavored. I was also billed for wine that I ordered after the woman at the front counter advised me to order the wine that I was trying to buy at the kitchen instead because they had an "open bar." It was not a true statement. The next morning I spent 10 minutes standing at the front desk to be checked out while the woman not even ten feet away from me told me someone will be with me soon. Eventually she finally went to get soemeone to help, but it took a while for her to take initiative. Staying at this hotel isn't bad, just don't expect great service. "One of our favorite hotels"
This was the third time we've stayed here, and all three have been first rate experiences. The hotel is close to almost everything, yet far enough away from the Quarter to be relatively quiet and to feel safe (especially as the property essentially begins on the eleventh floor). The service is excellent. Breakfast is perhaps a little high but impeccably […] fresh, and the free cookies in the afternoon more than compensate. I recommend it highly and without hesitation, unless you don't like floors 11 or higher. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location to stay in New Orleans.. 2 block walk to Bourbon St and all the other fun stuff in the French Quarter. The AC in the room did not work well - hotel its self was not very nice for a Hilton... it reminded me more of a Howard Johnson. Staff was friendly! Parking was expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great option in NOLA"
For the price, hotel was great. Biggest complaint was no real window in room. Furnishings worn but clean. Staff was AWESOME!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is in a great location for going to Canal and Bourbon. The staff and service were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean. However, the bed was a little uncomfortable. It was hard and not what I expected from a Hilton hotel. Parking for the hotel is valet only at $28 but non-guest can self park there for $16. So parking is a little […] overpriced and since anyone can park there I believe that you should have a choice to valet or not. However, all hotels downtown are going to overcharge to park. Overall it was a great stay. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not all bad, but definitely not all good..."
I recently stayed at this hotel while handling some family business in New Orleans. I've stayed in many hotels all around the country and I'm usually very pleased with the ones that conduct business under the Hilton name. However, I will rate the Garden Inn of New Orleans at about a 3, simply because of the foul smell throughout the hotel and the not-so-comfortable […] bed. The hotel is under renovation, which was no problem, but the entire building has an old, dank smell to it, like stale cigarette smoke. The room was very clean and well kept each day with fresh towels, etc. On another note, the bed (which had an adjustment knob ranging from soft to firm on the side of the mattress) did not work and had a slope at the head of the mattress that wouldn't level out. My husband and two children were with me on this trip and they complained of the same thing...a hard mattress. Also, be prepared to leave the hotel to eat (which is no problem since New Orleans has great food!) because they only offer room service from 5 pm - 10 pm during dinner hours. The hotel was okay, not all bad, but a much better hotel in the city is the Hilton Riverside. I've stayed there several times and its awesome! To each its own, but this one is at the bottom of my list. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
