The hotel is in a great location, clean rooms and helpful staff. One issue was, at checkout we were told we owed 20 Yuan for a small towell. There was makeup on it from when my wife cleaned her face. After we protested they dropped it, but do they not wash towels? Strange, and left us bewildered.

Any time I find myself in Shanghai, I will come back here. Both times we have stayed with the Bund Riverside, we have been upgraded and the rooms are beautiful and spacious. The service from the hotel staff is great, and the location is superb. Within 5 minutes of the nearest MRT and walking distance to the Bund. Love it!

The hotel was a decent hotel for the money. Set your expectations accordingly. The hotel is close to the Bund and the view from my window was good (14th floor). I could see the Pearl Tower and the Aurora Building and the other buildings on the Pudong side. However, the room carpet was very dirty and the bed was as hard as a rock. I had them put on another […] comforter below the sheets but that still did not help. If you like a super hard bed then this is the hotel for you. They did not clean the room very well every day. They just made the bed and put in fresh towels. Never vacuumed that I could tell and the room had a musty smell. The restaurant on the 3rd floor was pretty good. I was hesitant to eat there at first but when I finally did it was pretty good. But expect to pay hotel prices for the meal though. The doormen were very good and were always there to open the door for you..if that is important to you. There is an 85 Bakery on the corner near the hotel that has great deserts and bakery products and coffee if you are looking for a little desert after dinner. We enjoyed having breakfast in our room on the 17th floor window seat with a view of the skyline of the Pudong area - Pearl TV tower, etc. Its a short walk (10 mins) to the East Nanjing pedestrian road and MTR.

This hotel was great! It was a couple of blosck from Nanjing Rd. and was by the river. My room had the most awesome view of the Oriental Pearl tower. I was so happy. I had paid for a superior room, but was upgraded to the executive floor on the 16th floor. I would without a doubt stay there again.

Great location, walking distance to Bund and Nanjing shopping street. The best thing was the helpful staff, always ready to answer any questions. They helped us in organizing all travel to nearby places. It was such an ease to visit Shanghai. They arranged taxi wherever we wanted to go. I will stay again if i visit Shanghai.

Traveled with my wife and parents and found consistent experiences across two rooms. The bed was soft-firm, views were good, service was professional and helpful, towels were soft, sheets were clean. There are a few decent places to eat within walking distance but you'll need to taxi or subway out to local sites.

The location is excellent for enjoying the Bund and Pedestrian Street areas, and very close to the Metro system. The only negative about the hotel is that the carpeting in the room could use replacing. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful and some can communicate in English. This a good hotel for the price, and has Internet in the rooms (not wifi, but broadband if you bring a laptop). There isn't much right outside the door, but only 5-10 minutes away you're in a big shopping area, and about 10 minutes away you're at the riverside.

The Bund Riverside hotel is located next to the Suzou Creek which filters into the Huangpu river about 700 metres away. The hotel is on the busy Beijing Road West and this particular street seems like the main area for power tool shops and other hardwares. Nevertheless it is in a very convenient location just 4 or 5 minutes walk to the Nanjing Road […] pedestrian street with it great variety of shops, malls and eating places. Access to the Bund is best by walking along the canal side which leads directly to the People's Heroes monument and takes about 10 minutes. The nearest subway station is Nanjing Road East and has several exits all of which are only 3 or 4 minutes away from the hotel. The hotel room was quite spacious and very business like. The only negatives about it was the carpet which looked very old and worn and needed a good shampoo! The other concern was the fact that we paid extra for the 'superior city-view room' but found only one small window approximately 1m x1m which over-looked the creek and a big plot of land ready to be developed. I was sure that the hotel had made a mistake allocating this room but after checking they confirmed that this was indeed the city-view room! One thing worth noting is the charge for internet use in the hotel. This was 100 yuan per day so round about 10 quid..All in all though this hotel provided good value for money, was in a very convenient location and the staff were pleasant and helpful - even calling a taxi when you were ready to leave. Probably wouldn't return however but would recommend it to other travellers (except the city view rooms). Read more

We have stayed at other hotels in the Bund area that had a much better location. This was not convenient to the metro. The hotel was nice with a small lobby. The room was comfortable and the bed was better than average for China (not rock hard like some places).
