Stayed at dreams tulum for our honeymoon. Perfect relaxing romantic week. Excellent service and accommodations. Food and drinks great for an all inclusive. Very helpful concierge and staff! "Beautiful but not perfect"
Hotel had great amenities, great entertainment staff, beautiful grounds. Large grounds with awesome spa, gorg beach, bars, restaurants, etc. But the rooms smelled musty and damp and the room service took a long time to show up when called. There's a lot of staff but it wasn't enough for a large resort like this one. One masseuse at the spa was kinda […] rude. And the second night at the hotel there was a rat in our room. After arguing at the front desk for a while (they didn't believe us) they finally gave us one night free for the hassle of moving rooms due to the rat. Fantastic stay. Great staff, food, room. More spa like than hotel which was lovely. Highly recommend this place!Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice place, but I was disappointed about all the rocks and seaweed in the water. You have to walk 10-15 minutes south on the beach to get a really great clearing and beach, right in front of a residence.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice all inclusive if that is what you are into.."
I realized that the disney like atmosphere of an all inclusive is not my thing. That being said, I think it was a really nice all inclusive. The rooms were the highlight for us though. Air Conditioning, a deep tub with jets and very comfy and clean bed with 24 hour room service was awesome. The rest of the hotel was very nice (especially the well manicured […] gardens). The food was not bad, lots of different restaurant choices, but a little too busy for my liking. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Awesome honeymoon experience"
We loved the staff that was so helpful and kind. Always greeted with a smile. The seaside grill had the best food! La patio was great mexican food service there was a lil slow at times but theres no doubt they work very hard. They have sections just for kids and adults only restaurants which is good. I read reviews about the bathroom lighting not being […] well enough but we had no issue. It was a bit dim. The king suit w jacuzzi was clean, very comfortable. Maids work very early to 8-9the at night. Quitly until about 10am-12pm. Room service was fast and good. My only minor complaint would be the staff at the spa. Kind of came off as rude and like they are in there own world not the same as everywhere else on the resort. We were a late appt on a fri noght maybe they were just tired and ready too leave. Srill would def return. Night life and entertainment was excellent Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Suboptimal "Dreams" experience"
The customer service of this hotel plainly is not to the standard that expedia rates it at! From check in to the check out, the service was horrible. I've seen better service at a Motel 6 or a cheaper rate hotel. The facilities were alright, outdated, but ok. The beds are uncomfortable and the noise level is not conducive to a restful vacation. The […] food was good, but the wait staff looked annoyed to be there. The bartenders didn't even make an effort to make a pleasant experience. The "required attire" at the pool side restaurant (no wet or damp swimsuits) are absurd considering that the restaurant is poolside. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. The rooms are hot and the hotel apparently doesn't own fans. The one positive thing is the kids camp. It may not look like the pictures... but the camp counselors are very friendly and make the kids feel very comfortable. If it wouldn't have been for the kids camp I would say that the hotel/resort and spa are horrible. In my opinion, the customer service and the amenities are not what you would expect from a "Dreams Resorts". I have stayed at the one in Cancun...and it is far above better than this sad excuse for a resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice all inclusive hotel"
Beautiful hotel on well kept manicured lawns on the beach with many restaurant choices with a very friendly outgoing atmosphere ideal for people travelling with families and for those looking for a hotel that has both entertainment 24/7 for all generations and good food. If you want peace and quiet stay away from the beach and pool area and if you want […] to be within walking distance of all amenities, select room close to beach and pool area. "A little piece of heaven in the Riviera Maya"
I'm a single mom with a 9 year old son. This was our first vacation in 6 years and it was amazing. We spent 10 glorious days at the Dreams Tulum and didn't want to leave. For me, security is a primary concern. I never felt unsafe. I felt like we were in a protected little cocoon and it made for a relaxing vacation. The entertainment team was amazing. […] My son is a soccer fanatic and they allowed him to play beach soccer with the adults (he was the goalie). He LOVED it and was so happy. They felt more like family than strangers. I will admit that it is far from the airport and thought the drive would never end but, it was worth it. The food in the World Cafe could be better but, it was better than I expected. El Patio was very good. We are planning on going back next Summer but for 2 weeks. Mama needs a vacation from cooking and cleaning and this is the spot. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Pros: Good food and variety Great bar service and drinks Organized activities that were fun and entertaining Clean common areas Cons: Out dated and musty rooms that need maintenance Noisy hallways Pushy time-share sales at check-in Overall, this is an all-inclusive that should be enjoyed for it’s offerings outside of the rooms and not for the quality […] of the accommodations. This was the most amazing place. Aim still in mourning at having to leave. The staff was amazing..so nice and helpful. The resort is beautiful! There is so much to do in this area and at the resort. I expected the food to be mediocre but it was great. I had a filet mignon with white pepper sauce at the French restuarant that was one of the best steaks […] I have ever had! Fabulous grounds, pools, fountains, restaurants, and beach. Staff was amazing. The hotel staff was very nice plus the food was very good no complaints there the beach was very nice the only negative thing I could say was the bed it was very hard I even woke up with a lower back ache the next morning but other than that the hotel and location and service was great! "Beautiful all inclusive far from spring breakers!"
This was our first trip to Mexico and our first all inclusive. The hotel is about an hour and a half from the airport, which is a negative. We booked a roundtrip shuttle with Best Day Travel which worked out really well. The staff of the hotel greeted us with champagne and was very polite. Everyone spoke english and everyone was more than happy to help […] us with our spanish. The food was about what I expected - the buffet got stale after awhile, but was good. The restaurants were great. No reservations needed, and we never waited to be seated longer than ten minutes. Room service was prompt and tasty. One issue came up with our first room. The staff tried to resolve it, and we were satisfied, but were surprised to have our room upgraded the next day. The bartenders were friendly. The entertainment team was very entertaining. The staff was just great all around. We both did get a little sick while we were there, which google taught me was pretty common with travelers. Drink bottled water. The beach was really nice, but it was a bit rocky once you went in the water. We went sunning by the beach and swimming in the really nice pools, which were right by the beach. The place was family friendly, but not overrun with kids. My wife and I have a 1 year old who stayed with Gramma. We will certainly be referring friends to this resort! The activities […] pool is tons of fun with music, water sports and funny entertainment. There are plenty of beach lounge chairs at pools and on sand. "Terrible Hotel and a disappointing beach."
I had a very disappointing experience at this Resort, The rooms needed to be renovated and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The refrigerator was rusted and the room was very dark. It was very difficult to find the way to and from the room. The customer service was not great and nobody seemed to know where anything was. The floor did not look clean. The […] food was not good at most of the restaurants. The Mexican restaurant was terrible . The French and Italian restaurants were good. The Asian restaurant was closed the night we wanted to go. I stayed at The Dreams Hotel in Puerto Morelos, Mexico almost two years ago and it exceeded my expectations and put this one to shame. I was very embarrassed as I had raved about Dreams, Puerto Morelos to my friend travelling with me and thought this hotel would be just as good. Was I wrong about that! The pictures in the Expedia website are very deceptive. The rooms look nothing like the pictures at all. This resort is tired and needs to be updated. I paid more for this Dreams Hotel in Tulum than the one in Puerto Morelos and stayed in a similar type room. There was no comparison and this hotel should not be rated four stars. I've been to the riviera Maya area many times and all over Mexico and have never had such a disappointing experience like this one. The pools were disappointing as well. "Great hotel with great activities."
The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very accommodating. Was a little hard sometimes getting in and out of the gate when the staff at the gate didn't know room numbers in English. All the restaurants decent food. The Italian restaurant was outstanding food but the staff were rude. We needed a table for twelve and they only had one that was empty. […] When asked if we could sit there they said it was reserved. Which was weird. Cuz they don't take reservations. Which we asked them about and they just said it was taken already. I assume meaning if you slip them some money they will take a reservation. The pools and beaches are beautiful. The entertainment staff are friendly. There were tons of nightly activities. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place for family vacation"
This was our first time to try an all-inclusive resort and we were satisfied on every level with Dreams Tulum and would probably return. The staff was excellent--friendly, attentive and did their absolute best to take care of our every need. The food was very good and there is a broad variety of options. The rooms were clean, nice and comfortable. One […] of the best features for us and for other families is the Explorers Club, which is organized childcare with activities and which is open from morning til 10pm. Our 4-year old daughter loved it there and wanted to go back again and again, which was great for the parents having time together. For the price Dreams is a great value. If you go out of the resort to explore, you will discover that taxis will cost at least $20-$25 per trip and restaurants were pretty expensive too (we spent >$50 on every meal for a couple). The only negative about Dreams is that the beach has lots of rocks and coral under the water. We loved Dreams Tulum! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Resort, for the most part"
I found the grounds and amenities to be very nice, and for the most part the staff was always helpful, there are a couple of staff members that seemed to need some customer training, but perhaps has more to due to their comprehension of English, then the willingness to help. The beach area is very clean and well groomed, and the large sand bank area […] allows you too snorkel around the reef areas and enjoy the fish and sting rays, without worry of getting out of your depth. I did use the spa facility, prices comparable to what you'd pay in United States, which I thought was a little odd considering the average wage, but the Swedish massage was great! They do rope you into listening to their club membership pitch, but if you got an hour and half to kill it might well be worth it for the coupons they give you for the spa and beachside romantic dinner. Think timeshare pitch without the ownership. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Relaxing all inclusive with great food"
Beautiful hotel on a gorgeous beach. The food was amazing and the staff was very attentive. Not a lot of solo travelers here so if you go alone you need to either need to actively reach out or be comfortable on your own. Luckily I made great friends from around the world there that I will keep in touch with for a very long time. I mentioned at one […] meal that I was gluten free. The waiter immediately brought back the menu and showed me what meals I could eat if I chose to come back to the restaurant again. 10 minutes later another lady came to the table and said that she heard I was allergic to gluten. She told me that she notified the buffet and that they would make gluten free pancakes or provide gluten free toast... They found me each day and asked if I would like anything special. It was very nice. Over all - a great experience Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Food was mediocre at best. I had one good sandwich and one good appetizer during my 5 day stay. Property is beautiful and kept up well but it is a long walk to rooms. Dreams Tulum is great hotel for families. We traveled with 2 year old and it was accommodating in many ways. All the restaurants had high chairs and as soon as we entered they would offer it to us. "Fairy tale wedding of a lifetime family trip"
We stayed at Dreams Tulum from 3/24/12-4/6/13. We had approx. 25 family members/friends traveling along with us to Dreams Tulum also. My husband and I had our wedding ceremony on the beach on 3/30/12 and it was the ultimate dream wedding, everything I could ever wish for. Our overall stay was above average and the customer service, friendliness and […] smiles on the staffs' faces were outstanding. We were upgraded to a nice room with a beautiful view as the wedding couple and though the room was gorgeous and fairly clean, it did not come with the amenities promised on the website. Our TV was very old school and our DVD player broke down (other rooms had nice flat screen TVs). We had no blow dryer, no MP3 player and a bunch of small things that didn't matter very much at first...but having been there for 2 weeks, they would have come in more handy. Room service food was pretty awful, especially for breakfast...but the service was quick and they always worked hard to fulfill our requests. The hotel was very overbooked during this spring break time, so I should also mention that at times it was quite difficult to get a hold of staff (room service, concierge, etc). It took us like 5 days to get an ashtray and 2 days to have someone come look at our DVD player. So definitely some small things...but pretty big when you are there for so long and with a toddler...but would I do it again? Absolutely! In a minute! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel for family"
Staff was very service minded and helpful, cleaning of the rooms was twice a day, the restaurants did not have any wait and no reservations required. The food was a little bland, but that is probably because most people from us and canada don't like much spice in the food, so they probably catered to that. The beach was somewhat of a disappointment, […] there were a lot if sharp rocks under water and while we were there it was windy and waves which made for bad snorkeling. This was my first all inclusive experience, and it was favorable, I did enjoy the hotel, the staff and their nightly shows. My kid loved the explorers club. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The food was truly extraordinary every restaurant we ate at including the buffet had high quality menu items. The air conditioner in our room was very noisy and did not seem to work well. "Not so sure..."
Our vacation started off on a bad note. We got there to find out our room wasn't available and that they had 'upgraded' us to a different suite. After seeing the 'upgraded' room, we could not figure out how this was an upgrade. The room was dismal and the bathroom was in need of repair (see the attached pics). The 'upgraded' room was also over a bar […] that was playing football (lots of yelling late into the evening) and every time you left the room you were in front of everyone-the bellhop who moved our luggage even commented on the noise level. On day 2 (after much complaining) we got put into the room that was booked and things picked up! The new room looked as we had expected and had the oceanfront view that was paid for. The food was good and the staff was great! The grounds were really pretty. It was really rocky getting into the ocean so water shoes or great caution are recommended. Couple of tips: *Call/email to verify your room prior to arrival. They tried to tell us that they don't guaranteed bed sizes etc. despite it being booked and on the confirmation. Would just double check if specific bed(s) are needed. *Get up early to reserve a chair. There were times that all the chairs at the pool were taken by 6:45 a.m. We probably wouldn't go back there. The initial stress we went through really left a bad taste. Overall, an o.k. resort though. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
