This was a last minute choice and the only choice available within reason to Mystic. It is about 10 minutes away so that's not bad, but the rooms were. First off I can see how they are attempting to improve, but it isn't working yet. Bed's were clean, but everything else was not. It was fine. Nothing spectacular. My only complaints were that the room was cold when I arrived and smelled a little "old" if you will. The people at the front desk were nice. We didn't stay long. We dropped our bags went to a concert, came back and slept for several hours. It served it's purpose, a simple room. If I needed to I would do it again.

the room was cold when we walked in. had to turn the heat on. Bathroom was small. the shower was so small you couldn't even turn around in it and the water went cold after 1 shower so the second person took a cold shower. would never stay here again.

The worst hotel I've stayed in the last 25 years. Manager told me to use towel with lipstick on it. He couldn't get it out in the laundry. Phones were out of order and TV was inoperable You must wear shoes when walking Floor was full of dust and dirt

Tiniest bars of soap I've ever seen, towels even tinier. Single stream of luke warm water in the shower. No ice machine. On the plus side, comfortable beds, clean room, decent TV, pretty friendly service. All in all a mixes bag but I won't return.

We had a very nice room with a good size King bed. But the AC didn't work well at all & hot most of the night. Did not sleep well at all. We looked up in the early morning 4 a.m. and saw a HUGE cob web hanging over our bed. As we looked further many more along the ceiling. It was disgusting... the room and hallway smelled, the air conditioner was frozen over... the carpet felt slimy... the vending machine ate my money... the staff did not speak a word of English... I checked out within five minutes of getting there and found a different place to stay.

The room given to us smelled so strongly of orange deoderant I had difficulty sleeping. I suspect it had been used to mask the residual smell of vomit from a prior guest. The room had been all closed up, but should have been left open to air out.

This hotel should not even be listed on hotels.com! I use this site for business trips, and have been quite pleased in the past. This place, not even fit for an animal! The door had no lock, smelled of smoke & was supposed to be a two-room sweet, which it wasn't. I didn't even stay. Just gave back the key & went to LaQuinta down the road.

I have a daughter who plays travel ice hockey and this is was the WORST place I have ever stayed ..The room smelt horrible .. It was dirty .. I and my 12 year old son felt as though we had bugs crawling all over us ... We left after an hour.. Ate the nights fee it was that terrible !!!!!!

The hotel was in a convenient location, however the room furnishings were very worn out and in need of updating. Such as the carpet and paint. Electrical power strip for microwave anf fridge did not work so I had to move the microwave to another outlet that was convenient. The hotel staff would assemble their sheets, towels and cleaning supplies directly […] outside my hotel room (#11) every morning and would be rather loud which was not proper etiquette for people and kids who want to sleep in to at least 8:00 am or 9:00am. I was also asked by hotel staff to clean the room at mid morning and requested they come back in an hour after my 2 kides and I had left for the beach. When we came back that evening around 9:00 pm, nothing had been done to the room. Also the bedding shets frequently came off the mattress and in my opinion were too small to stay snugly fit. Definitely an older building but is kept up pretty well. Its no five star but beds were comfortable, clean, quiet and the staff were very nice at front desk. Out of the way but still nice and close enough to the sites we were in town to see.

The Americas Best Value Inn in Stonington, CT is bad. I have been traveling in business for over 20 years and this is at thebottom of my list of hotels. First of all the directions that the website gave were not specific at all and when I did mapquest I was 15 miles out of my way. Upon arrival I could not understand the person at the counter, she just […] gave me a key and pointed to the direction of the room. The room was so small that I could barely walk between the bed and the desk, I am five feet ten and 180 lbs so I am a small person. The TV had 6 channels at best and not very clear. The shower was small with not much hot water pressure. The water from the sink was a brownish color coming out until I let it run awhile. WE CHECKED INTO OUR ROOM TO FIND A VERY MUSTY SMELL. I OPENED THE WINDOWS THAT WEREN'T PAINTED SHUT WHICH DIDN'T HELP MUCH. SINCE THE WINDOWS WERE OPEN WE AWOKE TO A WOMAN SCREAMING COMMANDS AT HER EXERCISE STUDIO NEXT DOOR. I CAN SAY I WOULD EVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!

this was the worst motel I have ever stayed at, it smelled like mold and mildew, there were spider webs all over the place. I would never recommed it! The only reason we stayed was because it was very late and we couldn't drive anymore and we were in the middle of nowhere. We slep for a few hours and left and finally stopped itchying!

Everything was alright except the overwhelming smell of mildew in the room. We could not escape it even when we turned on the air conditioner. I could still smell the mildew in my pajamas when I got home! If it had not been for this unfortunate fact the place would have been about a C+.

This motel has the potential to be great - great location, pleasant exterior, well-lit. However, when we opened the door, the overpowering smell of Mold and mildew hit us like a brick, even with the windows open it didn't help. I will say, however the beds were clean and comfortable when we got to a room without the overpowering mold odor.

This place isn't as scarey as other reviewers make it out to be. Yes, it needs updating and outdoor maintenance, but the rooms, bathroom and sheets were clean which is very important to me. Also, the beds in our two-bedroom suite were extremely comfortable. Good for an overnight stay or long weekend.

We were quite disappointed in the service of this hotel. We arrived late Sunday afternoon and did not receive clean towels or have the dirty ones removed till Tuesday. Even the trash cans were not emptied a couple times during our stay. There was no ice machine available to us. based on the previous reviews I hesitated to stay here, but the price was right. Turns out my bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the tv, the remote, the AC and the fridge worked. That's pretty much all I ask. It's not the Taj Mahal but it wasnt all that bad either.

We were very disappointed with the maintenance of the rooms. Our room had an awful moldy, stuffy, unclean odor. My husband had some difficulty with his breathing and we had to airate the room for a few hours before closing the doors. The bathroom was very small.Blankets on beds were extremely cheap and rough. For the price of a night this place should be kept clean and not smelling moldy and unkempt. There is no service. Our room was on the parking lot level and felt very unsafe.
