"Met all expectations for a Paris hotel"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Traveling with two little kids (5 & 1), we had the junior suite. It was very clean and spacious (paris hotels are notorious for small rooms). Staff were very accomodating, friendly and helpful. Location is great with the RER and metro right outside doorsteps. Starbucks just outside, two malls within blocks and a good shopping area while most major sites are within 30 minute walking. Reccomend.

"Good deal for the price"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The room was a little small but had twin beds, desk, chair, closet, and luggage stand. The windows opened and there was a fan available in the room if needed. Good cafes in the neighborhood. Metro station very close. We would use this hotel again.
"Five star experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
This was our second stay at Hotel de Vendome and it topped the excellent experience that we enjoyed in November 2010. We were upgraded to a corner deluxe suite for an anniversary trip and welcomed with red rose petals in the room. Every detail of the hotel is first class with a very warm and friendly staff. Breakfast in the room every morning was a luxury followed by a walk in the Tuileries just a block from the hotel. If you're looking for the ultimate elegant boutique Parisian hotel, then you'll find it here. We'll be coming back to this one again. Bon voyage.

Good service and a decent area, very convinent location with a market of all food and goods! 2 mins walk from metro! Just a little far from center paris! Good service and polite reception!

Great location, great rooms. However, my car was vandalized and the hotel desk would not tell me how to call the police. They gave me an incident report and a map to the local police station who would not do a police report without an interpreter and would not tell me when to come back or how to get one. Frustrated!
"The Hotel for Dineyland Paris"
Travelling with a family of 6 wasn't easy but staying at Thomas Cook Explorer Hotel made it easy for us. Conviniently located to Disneyland, very good room for large family, reasonably priced, frequent shuttle bus service to and from Disneyland, very impresive indoor swimming pool and activities. Hard to find a fault at this hotel. We loved it.
"Much better hotel than I expected"
The hotel is very much like a Great Wolf Lodge without being over the top. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable and the bus service to the Disney parks and the train station was fantastic. The biggest drawback was that the Disney parks were little more than a glorified Six Flags filled with lots of smokers. That said, if you are traveling to Disneyland […] Paris I recommend this hotel. "Explorers Hotel at Disneyland Paris"
The hotel is fun for kids and right next to Disneyland Paris, but the beds were horrible. They have thin mattresses that squeaked every time you moved. The pool is fun and has 2 great water slides, and there is also a kid play area that is fun. We ate at the buffet and it was good - the desserts were particularly good.
"only for kids"
I was somewhat disappointed with the hotel. It was totally geared for kids--something not clear in its advertisements. For a family, it would be better. The rooms felt like dormrooms, the bathtub had black mold, and the carpets looked like they were never vacuumed. I was there a week, and I know they were not vacuumed in that time. There were no top […] sheets, so the comforter was directly on the person and that certainly wasn't washed. The breakfast was ok, but the dinner was only buffet--no a la carte option. Read more
"Good price, ok location, run-down property"
We got a good price for our room at this hotel. The location is close enough to the Disney park and train station. Our room was spacious enough, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was disgusting. Mold, mildew and dirt were present... not just from a missed housekeeping, but ongoing neglect. Light bulbs were burnt out and not replaced. Luckily, […] we were not there to remain in the room all day. It served its purpose, and we did sleep very well. But the state of the place is fairly run-down. It's a fine place if you get a deal, but I wouldn't pay full-price. Read more
"Nice place to stay with kids"
We arrived for a 3 day weekend with our older children. We intended to go to Disney on one day and spend the other two in Paris. The room was big enough for all 4 of us, the beds were comfortable, and the room was cleaned everyday. The staff was helpful and friendly. Transportation to Paris was simple and inexpensive. The only complaint I have is that […] in the fantastic pool area, there are no chairs for the adults who do not want to swim to sit on. We would definitely stay there again if we were goin to Disney. "Explorers Hotel in France"
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was small but comfortable. The mattress was well decent not the softest I have had but not horrible. It was wierd that the toilet was in one room and the shower and sink to wash your hands in were in another ( not very good for hygiene but do able.) My kids loved the pool. The breakfast was unremarkable, could […] of had a better selection in my opinion. The location was excellent! Close to Disney and the train station if you want to go into Paris. We had a bit of a issue with the fact that I paid for a 6 person room but only got a 4 person room. There was only 4 of us but the kids would of prefered to sleep in a different room. I would definately stay here again. Read more
Great hotel. The concierge from Manchester was wonderful. The rest of the staff was ok
"THe hotel is what it is..."
The hotel is conveniantly located by shuttle to Disneyland Paris, but I think next time I would like to stay closer to the park, as the bus still is not the best one as you have to wait sometime and its not good if you take the bus from the airport with alot of suitcases.
I had called the hotel and Hotels.com prior to arrival coz I knew half the european hotels had no air condition and was assured that they did. My room only had a ceiling fan and it was really hot. I spoke to the front desk and they promised to move my room to one of the four air conditioned rooms. My new room had air condition boxes that did not work […] and it was very uncomfortable. I ordered a movie which was supposed to be about 7 euros and they charged me 50 euros coz they said we had picked unlimited movie option which we did not for 25 eauros and they charged it twice coz we had a suite and two tvs even though we used only only one. that's about $100 for a lousy movie. The icing on the cake wa the internet service which though my husband paid for it on the spot cash, they insited we did not. After several minutes argueing, they took the internet charges off and stuck with one 25 euros for a movie. Not a good experience and I would not recoomend it. The pool was okay and the kids enjoyed that and the evening buffet is good too and a good value for the money. Read more

"Great for Kids"
Our family really enjoyed staying here. Our boys (5 yr old & 10yr old) loved the play area and especially the fantastic pool. They boys had a hard time leaving and hope to return soon. We live in California so it's a bit far to travel back any time soon. But we hope to return to Paris someday & staying at the hotel will definately be part of the plan. […] I highly recommend it to families with young kids. The shuttle to the Disney parks was great and on time. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, but founf dinner a little too expensive, but you can order pizza for pick-up in the hotel or take the short shuttle ride to the Disney Village for other meal options. Can't wait to return. Read more

"Fantastic Water Slide"
This was a return visit as my daughter loves the enormous water slide. The electronic keylock for my door stopped working so I had to move rooms but staff helped with move. Very clean. No complaints. Free safe in your room.
we stayed for three night , very nice , 5 min from disneyland , should be 5 star

"Bad Choice, unless you don't care where you stay"
Looked good on the internet-not so in reality. This hotel is the 2nd from the bottom of the hotels near Disneyland. You find this out once you are there and ask around.. The only redeeming thing is it has a great pool for kids, but you have to rent towels! Breakfast is sub-standard, big pile of cold ham cubes (one type), big pile of cheese cubes (one […] type), 4 kinds of bread, some random fruit (2 types) and cereal and yogurt. NO HOT FOOD. The bus to the parks is not recommended. Yes, it's free but with your hotel stay you get to park at Disneyland for free and it is a 5 minute drive. The bus, which they don't tell you, services 4 other hotels as well so it is always packed full in morning and packed full in the evening, the first night we waited 2 hours behind a crowd to get back to the hotel. Hotel staff are somewhat helpful, but quite a few hate their jobs and themselves and it shows. Ask three different employees and you will get three different answers to your questions. The rooms need a serious makeover (they are not like the photos on the web) We had a small 6 person room and it does sleep 6 but the furniture was loose and sloppy, no refrigerator, no microwave, no iron or ironing board, no laundry bag or service slip, etc etc. Spartan would be the word of the day. Lots of mold on the shower walls in the grout, nasty. It does have the nuatical theme though , but just looks old and tattered. I could go on and on but the bottm line is this: 1. If you want a fairly inexpensive place to stay near Disneyland and you have small kids and you don't mind all I said above, then it is a good choice. Like I said, the pool is great! and has a nice play area next to it (ball room etc). Also, Adults can monitor their kids from the food court-ish area while they are in the pool or playroom. Small kids don't care about all the issues I spoke of, only adults and teens would. If you are older and looking for a three star hotel or better, go down the street. We went into some of th Read more
Although the main reception looked good, we were staying on the north wing and the corridor of that wing was very dirty. The rooms were not that great either, looked like a budget hotel. But the brighter side was the proximity to Disneyland and the shuttle service from the hotel to disneyland was great.

"Explorers Hotel Disneyland Paris"
The hotel accommodates for children, great swimming pool, the pirate ship to climb on to and the soft play area to mess about in. The shuttle bus ride to the Disneyland is great, very frequent. Overall we did enjoy our stay and would return again someday in the near future.
"Great Swimming pool for family"
Very nice staffs, helpful & warm welcoming. My little one loves the swimming pool & we jump into it at least 2 times a day!! Close to all must see sights.

Good location, easy shuttle service to disney, great pool and indoor play area for kids - making it a good choice for families visiting disney
"Explorers Disney paris"
The jungle room was amazing, my boys are still talking about it. Customer service, facilities were excellent. The food was delicious and there was plenty of choices at the buffet
"Great for kids!"
We had a 1 night stay before we went to disneyland and it was great! My son LOVED the pool and the hotel itself was full of things for him to explore. It's location is great for Disney!! "Disneyland"
The Explorer hotel, Disneyland, lived up to ALL expectations. As a matter of fact my children and grandchildren enjoyed the hotel as much as they enjoyed Disneyland itself !
"Explorers hotel at disneyland paris"
Good Hotel, Had a long wait for our pizza's, but the wait was worth it. The bar was seriously under staffed. Breakfast, don't wait long for your time slot, th queue's build up quickly, but there is not a shortage of supplies.
"A convenient, fun, three star hotel"
Kids loved the pool, food was good, and the location proved convenient to both paris and disney. It is not a four star hotel, but if you manage your expectations you will enjoy your stay for a decent price.
"Explorers Hotel Disneyland Paris"
Good value for money, staff are very friendly, and helpful.
"Disney's Explorer - Great for Kids 6 to 12"
Hotel itself is fairly non-descript but is clean and well staffed. We stayed when the occupancy rate was only 40% and that made a big difference. Biggest draw is the swimming pool heated to 85F with a pirate ship, large water slides and a mechanical giant water splash bucket.
"Explorers Hotel Eurodisney"
We stayed here in November for two nights. We found the staff helpful and welcoming and the rooms clean and comfortable. There was plenty to keep both young and older children amused in the evenings. The buffet breakfast worked out well and there was variety of choice. It was a good basic hotel from which to either explore Paris or visit the parks in […] Disney. The shuttle was regular and it was the first stop on the way out of the parks. Read more
"Average"

Great Hotel for the kids. This is the 4th different hotel Ive stayed in at DP and considering the choice was detemined by the fact it could acco, odate myself and 4 children in one room it was by far the best hotel. When I arrived at 11pm tired it took 10minutes before any member of staff appeared at the desk to check anyone in. There was an entire coach party behind me but we were all totally ignored. At last someone began trying to check people in. it was painfully slow. I was then told they could not find my reservation. I got hotel.com on the phone but they […] refused to take the call and told me to wait while they check the coach party in. I was shocked. I told them i booked with hotels.com but they had no booking. They later found it under expedia and so it was my fault that they took 45 minutes to check me in. I spend at least 6 weeks each year in hotels and this was my worst checking in experience ever. I even began to video the disinterested staff. When I got to my room I felt quite depressed after the way I had been treated checking in. The room was like a kids dorm room. The beds were hard. The room was tired. If I had been with a child I may have been more accepting of my choice of hotel as the breakfast was decent quality and I did sleep OK despite the noise of kids in all the surrounding rooms and corridor from the crack of dawn. Fourth visit here in last 6 years , done the neighbouring ones as well , and this one still the best for the kids outside of park hours . Good regular transport to the parks .Rooms good , but a small fridge would be handy !!! "excellent hotel for families"
we stayed in september with two kids aged 5 and 13 and they both loved the facilities offered by the hotel. The pool was great for both while the little one loved the various playing areas.
"You get what you pay for - Did the job nicely"
Firstly this hotel is rated a 3 star so any one booking needs to be realistic about what they are going to get. i have stayed in many 3 star hotels and this is one of the nicest. Iv stayed at one other hotel on this road before, the magic castle and i would say that this hotel is better. iv been to disney many times and this hotel is the best and easiest […] one that iv stayed at. its about 1mile fromt he park entrance and a bus picks you up every 15 minutes and drops you right by the gates. you are the first hotel on the bus route both on and off so getting a seat is no problem. this year we drove from guildford and including the euro tunnel and a stop we did it door to door in 6 hours on one tank there and back in a 116d BMW. note that the route we took cost 20euros each way tolls. the hotelis on the main ring road around the park and in 5 mins you can take a drive around to a great shopping centre with designer outlet. The parks are what they are , but note they are expensive. take drinks and snacks with you to save some cash . the hotel is nice and has a soft play area and great pool for kids, we note that these were not cleanest when we travelled. breakfast is not great but a chance to grab some rolls if you want to make some lunch . all food is cold and you have to pay for a cooked breakfast. Rooms are ok they do the job a bit like a holiday inn standard at home . matresses are very hard and bring your own pillow to be comfortable. clean with a bath and shower. for food in the hotel grab a pizza takeaway in the hotel , we paid 14euros for a pizza and chips that was good for 2 people. all in all i would say this place is worth the money and a good idea to save some money if travelling by train you simply get out the station and hop on the same 54 bus you would normanly get. id say its a good 3 star but remember its a 3 star, pay £500 a night if you want the full expeiance at the dinsey hotel Read more
"Explorers Hotel at Disneyland Paris"
We were disappointed with the hotel room. All I can say is there were beds and bath towels just enough for each of us and of course, a coffee maker, nothing else. No box of klenex, no other amenities. The room was hot every night since we only had a ceiling fan at one speed to cool the room. The only reason why I would recommend the hotel would be because […] it is the first bus stop for pick up and drop off from Euro Disney and the personelle were nice. Read more
"explorers hotel at disney - great hotel"
We stayed for 3 nights and were very pleased with hotel location (only 10 mins from parks and very regular shuttle service) and cleanliness. Facilities were good - the kids loved the pool and play area and breakfast was fab. This is a really good 3 star hotel and as long as you book with that in mind you wont be disappointed - think some of the reviewers […] want 5 star service - we found service to be of a good standard and would definitely return and recommend to others. "Good Value and convenient for Paris sightseeing"

"Good value for money, convenient for Disney Paris"
Lovely hotel, only 7 minutes by free shuttle bendy bus to the entrance of Disneyland Paris. The Crew room catering for 4 people, although we took it for 2 people, was clean and fresh. Light, airy and overlooked garden area in the large middle section of the hotel. A bit small for 4 people I thought. The food available, buffet style, all you can eat […] for €22, was varied and tasty. There is also a fine dinning restaurant. Friendly and accomodating, staff all spoke perfect English. All- in-all, good value, near Disney. Read more
the breakfast was the worst and very low quality, actually to respect the custumer they should cancel it even if you eat egg you pay extra charges . Also no proper service so no one can help for lift the lugages and check in not before 3 pm and check out is 11 am
"Our Stay at Explorers Hotel June 2011"
My wife, my 2 kids aged 4 and 2 and myself stayed at the Explorers for 5 nights in June 2011. We weighed up the option of the onsite Disney Hotels versus this hotel. Obviously it is not as convenient as the onsite hotels but there was a substantial saving of 30-50% against the 3-4 star onsite hotels. The shuttle bus service which would be another major […] factor in our decision was excellent. There always seemed to be a bus waiting for us at Disney and we never had to wait more than 10 minutes either at the hotel or disney. The travel time of 5-10 minutes to Disney is no exaggeration. The staff were very helpful at checkin and for any queries during the week. The location of the swimming pool, the kids play area, the main breakfast and dinner restaurant, the pizza counter, the bar area with the large seating area all within touching distance of each other is the main selling point of this hotel. Everything is so close and not disjointed so that everyone in the family can do their own thing in sight of each other. With everything centralised it provides a great family atmosphere. The only gripe would be the room was quite tight. We took a crew room for 4 (1 double and two singles) and there is not alot of storage for suitcases, buggy and clothes so it might be a squeeze if you have older kids. Other than that we can't complain. We will be back. Highly recommended. Read more

"Thomas Cook Explorers hotel - Disneyland Paris"
We had booked a Crew room 6 which had 2 bedrooms. The rooms were a decent side with good facilities but would benefit from a fridge to store the babies milk and food. Location was fantastic but the shuttle buses were very crowded especially at peak times and think they could have more running as they serve a few hotels, not just the Explorers. The indoor […] soft play was an added benefit and lots of fun for our young daughter. The pool was a bit disappointing, the water was very cold and the toddler area was only open after 6pm (when our toddler was having tea and getting ready for bed). The breakfast was pretty basic and could do with a little more variety but it did the job, the staff were brilliant. There is a little disney shop selling the usual merchandise but very limited daily supplies such as toiletries, baby provisions etc. There is a small supermarket down the road near the Disney Santa Fe hotel which is quite expensive, better off going to the mini supermarket in the traini station at Disney. Disney itself was busy as you would expect but we never had to wait more than 10-15 mins for a ride and after 3pm we just walked on to most rides. We had lovely weather for the time of year and had a wonderful time. Read more
