"Great hotel, great recreational areas"
Travel with my husband and two children 9 and 3 years old. We really liked the hotel. comfortable, clean and nice room. Recreational facilities such as swimming pool, game room and playgrounds are excellent. very helpful staff. breakfast good but missed something hot. The buffet restaurant at night very good variety in the menu. As far as location is only ten minutes from the Disney parks and the shuttle goes every ten minutes. To go to the city is about an hour and a half and you have to train Connection with children we became a bit long. Definitely recommend and would return to this hotel, my kids love it.

"Close to park, but not great."
Very hard beds, dirty toilet. Breakfast buffet was lacking. Pool looked great in pix, but coed locker room and the 'French hygiene laws' were not posted on the website, so we were not prepared with proper attire. Pool also needs some updating. Food at the formal resteraunt was very good as was service all around.

I usually don't do reviews but I really just want to save someone time and money. If this is your first trip to Paris and you aren't in a rush to the hotel the best way to get there is by RER Trains. Start by taking the RER B (blue line) train from CDG Airport to Chatelet Les Halles and transfer to the RER A (red line) train towards Marnee-La-Vallee (which is the last stop/Disneyland Paris). Once you get off locate the 54 bus which will driver you over to the Explorer's Hotel. Roughly will take around 75-85 minutes.. An alternate route would be the TGV Train to Marnee-La-Vallee... this is approximately a 10- minute ride on a High Speed train. This hotel is definitely geared toward children and families. There is a play area for kids as well as a kid-friendly pool. I did not appreciate coming to my room and finding the dresser broke, however I was not planning on using it. Mostly it’s just an eye sore as well as the shower curtain which was once white was kind of turning at the bottom. Overall the beds were clean which is a big deal for me and the shower was also. Minus those things I mentioned before the stay was not bad at all.

It was an amazing hotel, always had nice people who actually cared about your issues, had many food options and overall it was a nice hotel which will definitely see me again if I decide to travel to Paris again. The only problem is that the Disney area is the only entertainment which was amazing but by the entrance of the park, there is a train station that goes anywhere and will take you to the center of Paris in about 35-40 minutes.

"Great hotel for Children"
Firstly the hotel itself - great decor and public areas. Play area right by the food/pizza outlet was a big hit and my daughter quickly made new friends there. She could play - we could eat & drink so win-win. Pool also looked exciting. Not thrilled about the 'speedo' rule - esp. having to pay 12 euros to purchase a pair. But daughter loved the pool, although it was so cold she only lasted half an hour. Now the room - for the price I was initially so happy with the room. It was older and basic but very clean and well designed with everything you need. Loved the tea kettle and having a separate bathroom and toilet. But then I pulled back the bed covers....ergh! Long black hair on one bed. OK it happens, but then I pulled back the next and the sheets were very stained. Cleaned but almost looked like dark footprints embedded in the cotton! I lifted the bottom sheet and saw a very yellow stained mattress cover - not very inviting and I felt very disappointed.

"Did not like it."
We booked this hotel because if mention that has a shuttle from the airport, but they did not mention that it stops at 7 pm so if your flight arrive late make other arrangements to get to the hotel. They give us a room with a disable bathroom, which we do not need or request, and water mess on the bathroom floor was a pain, they also put soap on the bathroom but NO other toiletries.

"Ok hotel for the price."
We booked a 'Captain's Room' with a double bed and two single beds. We got a fantastic price and the website pictures made the room seem nice. On arrival, the staff was super friendly and gave us a ton of awesome advice about visiting the city and using the subway. The room was super tiny and the bathroom was also super tiny. The toilet and the shower are separate... that is to say, the toilet has it's own tiny closet (with no sink, nothing) and the shower and sink have their own little closet. The fixtures were pretty outdated and the calcium buildup on the shower head had the shower spraying in all directions. The drain in the bathroom sink was visibly dirty and the walls had stains of what appeared to be pink marker. The linens on the bed were very clean (else we would not have stayed there) and the beds were decently comfortable. The only time we spent in the room was to sleep and shower so the negative things were easy to overlook after all the fun of Disneyland. We did not use the pool but it looks exactly like the website makes it look, and many many people seemed to be enjoying it. The complimentary breakfast is coffee, milk, or juice and a selection of breads, fruits, cold meats, cheese, and cereal. You can buy a hot cooked breakfast (eggs, beans, bacon, and hashbrown) for 4 euro. We only ate at one of the hotel restaurants once, and we had pizza. It was ok.

We stayed for 4 nights. Almost nothing else available. the cost was the same as many 5 star hotels I stay at but I would rate this at 2.5. Nearly 1000 Euro for 4 nights stay is very high. Booked through Expedia. Staff were nice but for that price I would expect a MUCH better place. Grounds not cared for, cheap tables and chairs and the place needs an overhaul.

"Easy access to Disneyland Parks"
They had just started a renovation- it's needed. Our room was adequate/basic. Veneer was peeling off the door, hallway area was dirty. Our toilet seat was cracked, it was replaced after our first night. Breakfast was more than just "continental" with meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, cereals, yogurts, plus the standard baguettes, croissants, and pain au chocolate. My daughter loved the pool and play areas. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

"Awesome trip!"
When we arrived we noticed a lot of renovations going on. It did not deter us as our stay was wonderful. They offer a shuttle to Disneyland but if you have a car, Disneyland is close by and the hotel gives you free parking into the park. The room was a little small but we only slept there. My kids swam every day as they loved the indoor pool which was fairly warm. We noticed many kids groups stayed at this hotel as well. I would say very kid friendly but quiet at night hours.

"Under construction and underwhelmed"
A large portion of the hotel was under construction which made our stay very inconvenient. Walls were thin and not very sound proof so we heard kids and families running, laughing, and talking in the hallways very late into the night. For several hours in the afternoons - there was no place to get food and there is nothing nearby to walk to. Regular swim trunks for boys were not allowed so we had to buy speed-o type swimsuits from a vending machine at the pool so the boys could swim in the pool. Wi-Fi did not work in our room - we had to go to the lobby. Service in the restaurants was mediocre and the gift shop and restaurants were not always open in accordance with the published "open" hours. Front desk staff were somewhat helpful but gave misdirection a few times and did not disclose information (such as a breakfast box being available, if reserved) when I requested a 5:30am taxi reservation. We would not return to this location - although the kids loved swimming in the pool every night.

"A great hotel!"
We stayed at this hotel to visit Disneyland, and we thought it was so much better than the cheaper Disney hotels (Santa Fe, Cheyenne)! It is nicely decorated in a pirate scheme, with lots of activities to do: leisure pool with flumes, indoors playplace, outdoors playplace, cinema, shop... And there is a very handy free shuttle to the Disneyland parcs. The staff was very nice and helpful, even when we arrived at midnight, and our room key card wouldn't work. The children loved the hotel so much that they wanted to stay there all day rather than go to Disneyland!!

Hello Stephen, We are happy to know you had a great time for your daughter's birthday at the Explorers Hotel! Concerning the swimming pool, shorts indeed are not authorised for hygiene reasons. Actually this a pretty common rule in France. Towels can be hired at the swimming pool for 2€ for the duration of your stay if you don not have your own towels. We are sorry that you were not aware of these two points prior to your arrival. We hope to xelcome you back soon. Best regards,

"Night at Explorers"
Booked a room just as an overnight stay for last night of a Disney vacation. Was looking forward to stay as looks really nice from pics. Overall the beds were really comfy and location was ideal for reason booked. The bad bits : The smoke detector was hanging by the wires from the ceiling, the Bathroom door would not shut as too big for door frame. Not enough pillows for beds. Had to ask for more and Housekeeping just looked at us like we were weird for wanting more pillows. Kids running up and down the corridors shouting at stupid o'clock in the morning. Was ok for what was intended, but couldn't stay for more than 1 night.

"My room smelled like an ashtray: then a perfumery!"
We couldn't check in at 1pm when we arrived, and so only found out how bad our room was when we finally came back from Disneyland at 7pm. Despite being a non-smoking hotel, it smelled as if someone had been smoking in there for days, maybe more. Cleaners must have noticed, but no-one did anything until we complained. The staff tried, but all they did was spray the room with this horrendous air freshener that did nothing for the underlying smell but gave us all a headache. The facilities for kids were great. But the food was not (pineapple stalks cut up at breakfast as if they were edible fruit... melon cut too near the rind). The staff were good, but my sense was the management couldn't care less (they certainly didn't try to contact us about the smoke problem).

"Disney Paris October 2015"
Hotel well suited to children. Overall the hotel can do with a clean and overhaul. Facilities for the kids are good. Breakfast is mayhem. Food choices on offer in the evening are limited and not at all suited for vegetarians or fussy eaters. The free shuttles are good but completely maniac. Grown men pushing children out if the way. A complete disgrace. Best advice would be to make the journey to Val de Europe the outlet shopping centre one stop away on the train. There are many restaurants and a supermarket in the basement. There is also a Sealife centre if Disney has become enough.

"First impressions good but don't look too closely"
We stayed for three nights with the aim of visiting Disney and spending a day in Paris. The location is perfect and free bus service cannot be faulted. The reception area and communal facilities are good - they look impressive and staff at check in were great. However, our room was very basic - think low grade Travelodge - with the addition of some pirate themed boards to give the impression this is more than a motel. The shower was basic, and pillows awful. The tea and coffee was not restocked, powdered milk not sachets and paper cups in the room. Breakfast was chaos, like a school dining room with kids running around, raised voices and staff in pure 'churn' mode. The choice was bland, only one type of cheese - not exactly 'continental'. The swimming pool is amazing BUT you cannot wear normal shorts, only tight-fighting Lycra type, and there was dirty nappies and plasters around, weird stains on the stairs to chutes and mildew/mould. Not pleasant. I would not stay here again, but our seven-year-old loved the play facilities and we loved the convenience of the bus and large, free car park.

This hotel is unfortunately looking a bit tired and not as clean as you would like it to be. The staff in the restaurant were terrible and service was so slow and when the food came they blamed other staff members for the mistakes with the food which was so unprofessional. The pool policy is silly too and my 6 year old child was made to buy speedos!! The "free wifi" does not work very often Handy for Disney though....
