I made reservations for the Friday night of Va Tech graduation - and made them late, so I was happy to have found 2 rooms on short notice. Thank goodness we only stayed one evening ! Upon check-in I was told one of the non-smoking rooms had in fact been smoked in and they did their best to "clear the air" that afternoon. Actually, BOTH rooms had been […] smoked in and the smell knocked you out when you entered the rooms. These rooms have been smoked in for more than just one night, I assure you. We had to get dressed and out for a dinner reservation, so we did not stop at the front desk to complain. Our rooms were seperated by another room - no big deal usually as adjoining rooms were not a requirement. However, both of our parties were wakened numerous times throught the night with what appeared to be normal level conversation from the middle room. The walls were so "paper thin" that we could have been a party to the conversation without even trying.....Overall, not a good experience and will not be staying there again nor recommending the hotel to anyone. The Hotel was on the outskirts of Roanoke and easy to find. The room was quiet (except as noted below). This was by far the worst hotel where we have ever stayed. Bed: uncomfortable. Carpet: FILTHY. Towels: FILTHIER ... I believe they were supposed to be white, but they were a muddy tan color. Tub: GROSSLY FILTHY. We had to put one of the muddy tan towels on the floor of the tub before showering, it was so disgusting. We were supposed to have a non-smoking […] room, but they assigned us to a smoking room... so they switched us to one of the remaining two non-smoking rooms that were available. STILL... we smelled smoke in the room and the smell of it kept me awake all night. I called the desk as soon as we got into the room to let them know it smelled horrible - they only offered to send up some spray to try to cover the smell. Something tells me they've experienced that already if they were prepared with the spray. Room with king bed, non smoking, was reserved. Room had strong smell of smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. We had to be switched to a room with double beds. Front desk was very apologetic. Not fancy but a good price for a one night stay.

Did not feel comfortable about the cleanliness of the room, carpet, shower, etc... Sheets were clean. Towels old and rough. Very outdated fixtures. Pool guy had his pitbull chained inside the pool area so he could fix or clean the pool, seemed odd.

I arrived at the hotel at 12:45 pm central std time after driving approx. 800 miles from Mobile Alabama. I was originally checked into room 243. The air conditioner in room 243 did not work. I waited for 2 hours figuring that the air conditioner needed time to cool the room down. By 3:00 am I couldn't take anymore so I called down to the front desk […] to report the fact that the A/C didn't work. The desk attendant was extremely rude and tried to start an argument. He acted like he didn't know that the air conditioner didn't work but how could they not know? they run the hotel and I am sure that others have complained before. After 5 minutes of being patient with the desk attendant after he tried to start argument after argument with me he finally agreed to move me to another room. Although in the end I did get a room with air conditioning the whole incident denied me proper sleep (I had to continue my drive from Roanoke Virginia to Atlantic City New Jersey) and it was a complete hassle. Why the desk attendant decided to try to start an argument was beyond me, and not only will I not recommend this hotel to all of my co-workers, friends, and family; I will tell them to never ever stay here (for their own good) Read more

Staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean. Most rooms are located close to the pool and spa which had very lax hours. The only negative things I could say about the hotel was that it looked a little run down. There were water stains in places and the breakfast left much to be desired. Still overall it was pleasing.

It was horrible. From the first moment I walked in the room, I was appalled. First thing I saw was the microwave. Covered all over the front with some kind of brown stains I wasn't even about to touch to explore the contents of the inside. One of the beds was in a concave shape (yes we all know what the "Romance" rating means, but families also need […] to stay there as well), and in horrible shape, the other one had stains on the comforter and some big circle of god knows what in front of it on the floor. Huge cigarette burn in chair at desk, dead roach at the corner of the bottom of the sink, grime all over the bases of the doors, room reeked of smoke (non smoking room), and stains all over the sink in the bathroom and shower. And finally the kicker, the shower didn't work, the cold faucet was broken and turned all the way around, and around. So, if you want a grimy, grungy, laying in god knows what place and literally want to take a scalding hot bath, by all means, stay here. Inside of Room was very nice. Towels were bad. Blankets in between comforter and sheets were bad. Pool could have been nice but was unkept. Lawn was not mowed. requested 1st floor due to handicap had to park on slopped lot with a big step to the walkway. no ice available at ground level. the frig was not cold enough and the table was so wobbly you couldn't use it. the water smelled like bleach and there was mold on the shower wall.

When we arrived, the room lights didn't work and we were trippin over iitems before we we able toget a light on. And the smell! I know threr was no guarantee of a non smoking room, but a little Fabreeze would go a long way in making this a better review. What you didn't have control over wasn't bad, but what you could control was marginal.
