Make sure to visit the golfing center even if you do not choose to golf for some spectacular views of the St Lawrence. Great and friendly service. The kids loved the pools. Lots to do in the area.

Hotel Location for us was excellent - we wanted to do a lot of hiking, biking and whale watching in the Charlevoix National Parcs . I wanted somewhere comfortable to come back to at the end of the day. This is a Grand Old Hotel with amazing views - very professional/efficient staff, they just weren't very friendly, helpful or even acknowledged that […] you are there. The sports complex was amazing, two heated outdoor salt water pools, hot tub, indoor pool with two hot tubs and steam room - just what you wanted after a hard day hiking. In the evening in the Grand Hall there was entertainment - piano player, singer - very nice and relaxing. Wi-Fi service was NOT free - $14.99 per device - we had two teenagers with us - so with 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, a laptop and a netbook this was going to be very expensive - given how expensive it is to stay here we thought at least the wi-fi would be free. Parking was horrendous - unless you wanted to pay $22 per day for Valet parking. One evening it took us 40 plus minutes to find a parking space and then it was a long walk back to the front of the hotel. I enjoyed my stay, the hotel is quite something - but there are better 5 Star hotels out there. This is one we will not be returning to. Read more

Great location. Food was very poor, very expensive. Not a very good selection. The buffet is not worth it by a long shot. The Casino is very unfriendly. We have been here several times over the past ten years, but will not return. The entire experience left a lot to be desired. We cut our stay short and went back to Quebec disappointed.

I stayed here for two nights. This is a great hotel. It has the best food that i have ever had. The room in which i stayed was recently renovated and i really loved the bathroom mirror which has an illumination (which i have never seen before, coming from the lower part of the mirror frontwards, which allowed me to be able to shave myself really well. […] There were many clerks at the reception. However I was received by the younger one who had received less training or who was newer in the job. He has great skills (and he has great Spanish speaking skills as well) and I think he is really the right man for the job and was borned to do that kind of job. However, I dont think he is getting all the customer skill training help that he needs. And I had to wait 15 minutes for my room to be ready when there were other rooms available (probably with better views). My room did not have a view at all, unfortunately. If i was to come back in Malbaie, i would wait definately have that conversation with the young receptionist, and i would have him ask some of the other more experienced receptionists if there are rooms available with better views (rooms that are ready). I feel that i could have been given a room with a better view than the one i got. Even if i indeed needed to wait more. I dont feel i was advised properly with regards to this. And would have greatly appreciated a room with a better view. But i am just speculating here. Maybe what i got was just about the best they had available, even though it was a not so busy Sunday afternoon. This is a person with a great potential and i would like to see the other more trained employees to give him the proper help that he needs. Overall, great experience!!! Read more

We chose this hotel for it's location in the Charlevoix area, and proximity to the whale excursions from Baie Ste Catherine. It is a large, castle-like hotel, and very luxurious. Although we had a small-ish room, we still had all the amenities, robes, extra towels, etc, etc. The pleasure of the stay here was enjoying the resort aspect of the hotel. […] Doing laps in the heated outdoor salt water pool, or swimming or playing in the other outdoor pool, or the indoor pool, or relaxing in the hot tub; lunch on the terrace overlooking the St Lawrence, strolling the grounds, sitting by the fire on the terrace in the evening, were all wonderful. The people who work at the hotel seem to be looking for ways to help you enjoy your stay. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. We only ate at the informal terrace restaurant, which was ok; can't vouch for the nicer restaurants in the hotel. I have stayed at some nice places, and I give this an A+. There are also other amenities which we did not use, such as a beautiful golf course with a spectacular view (we went to look!) and a casino, which just didn't interest us. Read more

A classic iconic Canadian Fairmont property! Great views of the Fleuve/St Lawrence. Nice rooms. Very clean as expected. The shower and washroom need some upgrading. I definitely would reccomend the breakfast buffet! Overal very charming/great hotel!

Unfortunately our 2 day stay has not met family expectation; Registration waiting took at least 15 minutes, the 2 queen bedroom was small with little natural light and washroom was smaller than my home washroom (leaving very little place for our personal stuff). Very comfortable, clean bed, beautiful grounds, BUT it's expensive AND you'll be nickel and dined on top of that. $22/day to park. (Used to be free. Free parking at hotels nearby.) $13.95/day WiFi when every other hotel is free. Breakfast is small, but $20/person and up. And it wasn't even spectacularly clean: mould in the shower corners, brown grime […] spots on the wallpaper, and dust on hardware mounts. It's fabulous rolling in the snow after the heated pool/sauna... But even so, we won't be returning. Spend three nights at Manoir Richelieu with friends and family and was a great experience. Was in a renovated room which was not huge but very nice. Grounds and facilities are fantastic with stunning views over the St. Lawrence river. Restaurants good but not cheap, and so many options available off property in the region.

I recently had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was very clean and spacious. The hotel has 3 very good walking trails. However, my husband were not prepared and had to turn back only after 2km as the terrain became quite rocky and steep. Running or hiking boots are recommended. Checked into the Fairmont Le Manoir earlier this week and was underwhelmed by the service - particularly at check in. First problem - seemingly ignored at the curb side, had to schlepp our own bags, only to discover that without the cart service, one is faced with a formidable set of stairs to climb (with luggage) to get to the reception desk. Next […] problem - only one person working a six-station reception desk and they were alternatively speaking on the phone or serving one client (slowly). Moreover this person was working only the gold club - so we waited, and waited (with several others) - close to 25 minutes just to check in, only to be told when our turn arrived that others behind us would receive priority. We finally had to seek out the concierge to enquire how to check in and whether there might be another desk or employees. Not impressed. It seems as though the bigger the resort the more impersonal and inattentive the service - although this is certainly not the service that we've had at other Fairmont hotels - particularly Vancouver and Whistler. Nice look to great river, stayed there for one night and went farther to St Catherine to watch whales. Learned about such option on line. I see for those who are planning to go to whale watching in Tadoussac area for one day it is much more convenient hotel location than going allthe way to Tadoussac using ferry loosing time for waiting for ferry both […] ways. We managed to come to hotel by rented car from Quebec city by 5 pm, enjoy swimming pools, and next morning travel (1hr of drive) to St Catherine (before ferry), take morning boat for whales watching, and arrive back to Quebec airport by 6 pm to fly back to Toronto. Nice pools, good location and would recommend the rooms that have a view of river. Free bike use and mini golf were nice perks. Ate once in the hotel - the service was good but the food was average. Parking is not cheap so park in the free casino car park opposite.
