"Clean hotel 10 mins from Venice's main bus station"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The included buffet breakfast consisted of eggs, cold meat, cereal and fresh baked croissants. This hotel is great value! It is a 10 minute walk from the Mestre bus/train station, next door to a supermarket and close to kebab/pizza restaurants and some pubs. It is very easy to get into central Venice. There is a bus right across the street that comes every 10 mins and takes about 12 mins to get to the main bus station in Venice. It costs a little over a euro one way and you can get the ticket at the reception (along with vaporetta tickets). Keep in mind though that st.mark's square is about a 35 min walk from Piazalle Roma ( the bus station). Unless you want to lug your bags through the narrow, busy streets and (many) staircases of Venice and pay a fortune for a dump, I would recommend staying in the Mestre area and this hotel was great value for the money.
"great find"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Loved this hotel. Best price and great amenities. I am a bit of a hotel snob and this one delivered great
"Venice May 2012"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
We stayed 1 night only and were very happy with the hotel. Dont forget to get you key from Hotel Luca as the Casa Dolce has no reception. The feeling of the hotel is as you were resident of Venice. We highly recommend it.

"STAY AWAY! Not worth your money and NEVER AGAIN!"
As the pictures look very authentic we choose this hotel. We were not going to spend much time at the hotel to begin with however they manage to give us a horrible experience. The "hotel manager" picked us up. She did not even greed us. They were kind to drop us off in the city and pick us back up after. Upon our arrival we were charged EXTRA LOCAL […] TAX ( although our reservation clearly stated PAID IN FULL) and discovered the lack of cleanliness- SPIDER webs in the room corners, HAIR in the shower. The furniture are worn out, the towels are cheap "sheet" like fabrics. We did not complain, we simply wanted to enjoy our time. What got to us is the NOISE and lack of customer service. At night there is an old lady which is in charge and she does not speak English. There was a lot of noise up until 1 AM which she did nothing about. In the morning, starting from 6AM the breakfast room slams extremely loud. Two morning in a row we complained about that and they could not even come up with a solution. I suggested to her to put a door stopper or a chair to keep the door open but the second morning it continued. The hotel is located FAR from everything the walk to the bus is a good 15 minutes walk. In short- STAY AWAY! Not worth your money and NEVER AGAIN! Read more

"Good price, quality. Far from Venice; has Shuttle"
Not close to the train station or Venice but the hotel does offer shuttle service to the train station, airport, and Venice for a cost. Good, clean rooms at a good cost. Convenient shuttle times to visit Venice and come back in the night. Nice people at the front desk but some of them don't speak or understand english very well but somehow we managed […] to communicate :) Read more
"Decent hotel"
hotel was nice, room was good, service was good except for one of their employees. but the bad thing was the location, because it was pretty far. if you don't mind taking the shuttle and spending sometime getting to venice center then this is the best hotel for price
"Good price, difficult location"
Stayed 1 night on a recent trip to Venice. The hotels in Venice are quite expensive and we were looking for an alternative outside of town for a cheaper price. The hotel is about a 20-30 minute bus ride from the Venice bus station at St. Lucia (train and bus station are close together). At first we had trouble trying to figure out where to get off the […] bus for the hotel, and once we did found out the hotel is about another 15-20 minute walk through a residential area (sorry I forgot the name of the bus stop). The area looks somewhat safe, but it is quite a hike if you don't pack light. The price of the hotel is low, but they attempt to get additional money out of you however they can. The shuttle to Venice is 2 Euros per person (must be booked and paid in advance), breakfast was 5 Euros per person, internet 3 Euros for 30 minutes. The room was ok, but they were doing some construction while we were there. The hotel staff was not all that friendly. One major problem is that the location of the hotel is not close to any places to eat, so we took the bus up towards Paduva which has some nice small towns on the river with good restaurants. Once in Venice I found that most people make it a day trip to avoid all the problems with hotel costs. I would recommend getting an early arrival into Venice by train (before 8 AM) and checking your bags at the St. Lucia train station, spend the day in Venice (enough time to see most sites) and take a late train to your next destination. Make sure to get to Venice early though since the bag check line at the train station was unbelievable (maybe 2+ hours) after 10 AM. There is also a decent restaurant in the train station where you can get a reasonably priced breakfast/lunch. Overall, the hotel is ok, but might be best for younger travellers, those that are really on a tight budget, or those who plan on renting a car. Read more
"Nice hotel, but expected nicer"
This hotel is very nice. It's clean and most of the staff is bi-lingual. However, the hotel is pretty far from the island of Venice. In fact, you need to take 2 buses to reach it, or walk quite a few blocks and then take 1 bus. I was also led to believe there was a restaurant on site (they have brochures everywhere that have photos of dining). So that […] was a little upsetting when we were tired and then had to walk quite a few blocks to find a restaurant. But overall, it was a nice hotel. Room was a decent size, had a TV (with 5 channels-- all in Italian) and had a nice balcony. We would probably stay closer to the island next time. Read more
"Venice Hotel Villa Dori"
The room is ok. One thing, don't trust the instruction for the direction to the hotel in the web site as you will NEVER find the hotel. According to the hotel information, you need to take the bus No. 25 and it will stop in front of the hotel, so we waited for 2 hours, and the bus never come. Finally, we took a cab which cost us 25 Euro to the hotel. […] The other inconvenient think is the shuttle bus to Vinece, is not free, , and there is only 3 service in the morning and 2 at night, which is not flexible at all. And the breakfast cost us extra as well. So if you add up all the additional cost and time you paid, i will rather stay in the island itself. Read more
This hotel is very old and quite far from be venezia. However it has shuttle bus to the city and is 2.50€ per person. Only has two bus service in the am and two at night. If u miss that, will need to take the public bus which s very far and takes a lot longer for the ride as well. Shuttle is around 20 mins to the city. But public bus takes around 40 […] mins, plus 10 mins walking to the bus station. The reception lady offers very poor service and attitude. Not very helpful at all. Read more
"good hotell for the price"
The hotel is clean, staff friendly and it is not far from the island. We had a car and it took 10-15 minutes to get there. Some rooms have only roof windows, avoid them. There is also breakfast available.
"Goed verblijf"
Goede service en aardig personeel. Alleen slechte bedden en erg gehorig. Kamers waren super schoon en heel erg mooi.
davvero carino come albergo. dolce e caldino. posizione molto tranquilla oltretutto.
"Einmal da, kommt man wieder"

Read more
"Fint familierom"
Read more
Hotel MUY MALO. No lo recomiendo por ningún motivo
"simple hotel"
Simple and okay if you just need somewhere to stay outside Venice. The hotel is located in a normal housing area just 2-3 minutes drive from motorway.

"Kaukana kaikesta"
"Venice Hotel Villa Dori - in the midle of nowhere"
The hotel is in the midle of nowhere but they have a shuttle service from/to Venice that is great. But if you want to stay until late at night it is dificult to get back to hotel.
Located at peripheria, but bus service to Venice was good. Hotel was nice and personnel helpfull
"palvelun taso"
