Very friendly staff and very personable. The hotel tell is the oldest in town. I had to pay for parking but the give you a token which saves you 2 euros.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

had a nice few days in dooleys hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We only stayed here for one night in between traveling around Ireland. Our room was small and not very comfortable. Regardless, the staff was very helpful and the location of the hotel was right on the water and in the middle of town.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the staff were excellent, the pub was great with excellent live music. location was handy ... across the street from the bus station and ample parking with a hotel discount. stay hereGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, no soundproofing"
hotel is a little "tired", needs a good face-lift (cosmetic like carpets, paint etc.) My room faced the river (very nice) but also overlooked the road. I could clearly hear the traffic, so much it woke me at 6 am. Double glazed windows but either worn out or badly fitted so a very noisy room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Staff could'nt have been nicer!"
At first I was not pleased w/my room. It was to be non-smoking & was'nt. I was about to leave to find some place else, when the front desk manager asked if he could show me more rooms to chose from. He was able to find me a quiet, warm, and comfortable room. I'm glad I stayed!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Date with my wife"
It was great. They gave us the honeymoon suite which was big and lovely. Parking was additional and across the street but we got a small discount on the price. 3 euros vs. 5 euros. Close to city center and a lot of sights.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient hotel for Waterford, Ireland"
This is a tourist hotel and for it's category they do a good job. Some staff not experienced, but all try hard to please. Restaurant a 3.0!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great staff and location!"
I had a great 3-night stay at Dooley's and was pleased with everything and everyone! Felt very secure walking everywhere. Shopping was very close by. Took a short bus ride to Tramore Beach: beautiful! This hotel is very accessible for both bus (across the street) and train (10 minute walk away)! All the staff, especially front desk, breakfast host and […] servers, the pub gang and even the cleaning folks were all friendly, respectful and fun. I could tell they all loved working there! "Great location, tired, noisy and uncomfortable roo"
Stayed here June 2 2014. The location was fantastic with parking directly across the street from the hotel (€3). The hotel has a nice 30's-40's vibe to it. Staff was pleasant. Unfortunately that's where the fun ended, in the hallway. Our room had no air conditioning and our small window opened to the roof and directly to the ventilation system. It was […] extremely noisy and could not tolerate to have the window open for any length of time. The room had no safe, important to us. The best were very soft and uncomfortable. The bathroom was very tired. The hairdryer was held together with masking tape. The garbage can lid was broken and this shower had the absolute worst showerhead on the face of the planet. It was so weak and misty. Thankfully the full hot breakfast was included. There was a good assortment of food, and lots of it. Thankfully. It's a good location to visit the town from. Everything is within a 10min walk. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Very helpful and pleasant staff. This hotel is highly recommended for your stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is a fine mix of modern convenience and old world charm. It is family run and has that feel. I have no complaints, the dinner was delicious, the service was courteous. I wouldn't pass it on any future trip to Waterford.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Easy to find and got parked just across the road."
Really enjoyed our stay. It was only one night but the room was great we had a double and two single beds for the children. Better than most hotels as we usually get a double and a pull out bed for the kids to share which doesn't work very well. The breakfast was excellent and the staff really helpful. Had a meal in the bar which was also great.Genuine Expedia guest review
My friend and I stayed overnight in Dooleys and thoroughly enjoyed it. We found the staff friendly and eager to please, both over the phone and in person. We ate bar-food and it was reasonably priced and tasty. the waitress was chatty and efficient. The twin room was comfortable, clean, had tea/coffee facilities and was peaceful. All in all a pleasant […] stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Dooleys no longer on the good list!!!"
I booked an overnight stay with my daughter and a friend and her child for a Christmas treat, after a trip to "Mount Juliet" which was amazing. My general opinion of the hotel is very poor, the "welcome" at reception was severely lacking and staff seemed at best dis- interested. The"family" room was tiny , with not three beds as advertised but two beds […] and a camp bed which had seen better days. Three out of four sockets I tried to use to charge phones etc. were not working , the tv remote also broken and the shower was the worst I have ever encountered in a hotel, the drizzle of water made actually washing yourself an impossibility. Very disappointing. I would have relayed this opinion to the hotel staff if they had made any enquiry as to my stay on checking out. Will not be returning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We finished our Ireland holiday in Waterford and after staying in a variety of hostels, B&B's and private rentals decided to stay in a conventional hotel. We found Dooley's to be a nice average hotel. The room was large, bathroom was clean and the location in the hotel very quiet even though the main hotel faced a busy street. The breakfast was spectacular […] and provided a great start to the day. Also the parking was right across the street and was very inexpensive. The biggest downside were unhelpful staff that treated us as though were were interrupting them/bothering them when we had questions. Also, the internet access was locked down and was doled out with 1 hour free passes and expensive per-device, all-day access. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Disappointed in Waterford"
I am sure, at one time, it was a very nice hotel. However, it has been let go. Our room was in disrepair from the carpet coming loose that tripped me on the way out of the bathroom to the mold noticeably growing on the wall above the shower. Our towels were so worn they actually had strings hanging on the bottom. The sheets were also in poor condition. […] They would have been used as rags in our home. I wasn't expecting it to be anything fancy, but I was hoping it would be clean and in good . Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Charming old hotel with amazing service."

Dooley's is a wonderful, harming old hotel in Waterford. The rooms are adequate, clean and comfortable, The bathroom looks to be completely renovated. The only issue we had was a lack of air conditioning and noise coming from a club outside our window, I would recommend this hotel but avoid room 43 because of the outside noise and the need to sleep with the window open due to the lack of air conditioning.
"Nice place to stay"

The Dooley was adequate enough. The rooms were clean and large. The wifi worked well. There were adequate amenities in the room, coffee, tea, hair dryer and iron. The food was above average. The pub was excellent. They stayed open late for us one night without issue. We were made to feel like very welcome guests. The hotel is located within walking distance of shops, pubs and museums. It was more than I expected. I was presently surprised.
"Love Irish Lunch @ Dooleys Hotel"

I feel very lucky to have been invited to the sold out Love Irish Lunch at Dooleys Hotel last Friday as part of Harvest 2014. And what a great lunch it was! The attention to detail and planning that went into this event was very evident from the moment I entered the hotel. The food was out of this world with a great selection of local produce presented beautifully. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel looked great. I can't wait for next years event but will be heading to Dooleys again before then!

The Love Irish Food Lunch held in Dooley's Hotel last Friday 12th as part of the Harvest Festival 2014 was really something special. From the warm welcome the minute we walked in the door to the comfortable dining setting and of course the exquisite food this was really something special. The staff were warm, welcoming and extremely professional. The dining room was fresh, comfortable and beautifully designed. Each course of the meal was a culinary delight! We at Mary Daly and Associates invited a number of our clients to join us for the lunch and it was compliments all round for Dooley's Hotel and the wonderful staff. Well done Dooley's!

I attended the Love Irish Lunch as part of the Waterford Harvest Festival 2014. Congratulations to Dooley's on the event. The food was fantastic from start to finish, beautifully presented, and amazing tastes throughout each of the courses. It was clear to see that a lot of thought had gone into the menu and effort had gone into each dish. The welcome and service by the staff is also to be commended. Well done to all on a very successful event. Looking forward to next years already!

I attended the Love Lunch opening of the Harvest Festival in Dooley's Hotel, Waterford last Friday. The food was absolutely superb with a fabulous selection of local produce prepared and served by a very experience team in the hotel. From start to finish the service received on the day by the staff in Dooley's Hotel was efficient, polite, extremely first class. The presentation of the food was too perfection. Thoroughly enjoyable day and would definitely recommend the hotel for its food, service and atmosphere.

Waterford Rotary Club attended the love Irish lunch launching the 2014 Waterford Harvest food festival. We were extremely impressed with the food and service on the day. A true show of what is on offer in Waterford today. We would like to thank all the food suppliers, the hotel kitchen and dining room staff as well as the Local enterprise board.

Attended the above lunch recently at Dooley's Hotel. The lunch was a sell out with well over 100 people attending. We had a marvellous lunch, the food was superb and service was top notch! It was great to see so many local food producers on the menu also. The lunch reminded me that we're spoiled in Ireland with our selection of high quality producers and it was brilliant to see Dooley's Hotel show it off at it's best. Well done to all involved
"On the waterfront"
09/14/14 flower4cakes Milborne Port, United Kingdom
The outside belies the interior. Our room had a new wet room which was pristine. The bathrooms of rooms occupied by other guests in our group had also had a makeover. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to get up in the morning. We only stayed the one night and had to leave early this morning to catch the ferry home from Rosslaire. The hotel overlooked the river and was close to the shopping centre which had a good selection of shops. The Waterford Crystal factory and shop was within easy walking distance but we didn't make it there unfortunately. The food was good but there was a lack of vegetables. We just had potatoes and carrots except for those who chose the sea bass which came with green beans. The menu lacked variety. Breakfast was buffet style.
