Buzios has become a very popular vacation spot with a very wide range of accomadation from hostels for the backpacking set to lux for the rich, some of whom may be famous. Baia do Joao Pousada is a moderately priced hotel and thats needs to considered. That said, it is very comfortable place to stay starting with a great locatioin and rooms that overlook the bay. Caveat, the great view means being up a hill so be prepared for a nice hike. The rooms are fine, clean and more than adequate-since are not coming to Buzios to stay in your room. They have wifi in the rooms. The shower in ours was a bit small, but doable. As a small hotel, the service is quite personal-Ricardo, the owner is a warm, cheeful pleasant guy-who speaks English and Italian, in addition to quite naturally, Spanish and Portugeuse. We enjoyed our stay and hope you enjoy yours.

A clean, cozy, safe, wonderful spot with friendly and prompt service. An easy walk to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and a quick ride on public transportation/taxi to the lovely downtown area. Would absolutely stay here again! Wake up in time for breakfast- fresh bread, great coffee, and orange juice squeezed daily!

It has an average bed for US standards, but clearly better than Pousadas you will find in Brazil. USA standards, nice rooms.

It was a very pleasant stay. I took my two small dogs with me and all went smooth. The staff was polite, but nobody helped us taking the bagagge upstairs -one of the helper just stared at us but did not offer to help but upon arriving at the door he waited to be tiped.

facilities are ok and location is not bad. Downfall is the service. Generally not very friendly and kind of acted like they were doing me a favour by letting me stay there. No one spoke any English at all. The owner is particularly unfriendly and did not make eye contact the whole 5 days I was there which was strange given there were only about 3 clients […] most of the time.If they could get the service piece right it would be a decent place. Ótima localização, ambiente super familiar, café da manhã a contento, mas, poderia ser melhorado. A limpeza dos quartos deixa bastante a desejar, bem como as camas, que não são muito confortáveis.

Es un lindo hotel, limpio, prolijo...tiene una pileta y parque muy bien decorado...las habitaciones sencillas, pero limpias y la gente del hotel amables y honesta! mi novia se olvido los lentes y aparecieron en el lobby del hotel y los devolvieron! cerca de todo y bien ubicado cerca de la rua das pedras! super recomendable!!!
