Best Western Taroba Hotel e Eventos - Foz Do Iguacu

I ordered two double rooms for three people- got a triple and a closet. My double got downgraded to a tiny room about 7' X 12'. Complaint went nowhere. Bills had been padded to add things we never bought plus taxes that attempted to over charge us at least $60. We went with the hotel going by the ratings and the best western tag. The room did not meet our expectations at all. The room was cramped, right next to the elevator, 1 window with absolutely no views, the wash basin would not drain - rather drain slowly, no soap/shampoo supplies. We called the maintainance a couple times to fix the wash basin, but […] in vain. Even loooked at the one other room in the newer tower, that smelled strongly of paint...so decided against changing rooms. The good: The breakfast was nice, quite scrumptious with a variety of cakes. It's semes to me that the rom I godt at hotell booker through Hotel.com are the verst rom the Hotel has. Therese are no wive at all or the wive are to the back yeards. the check in process is ok, the room was ready BUT, they give us the room in the old building, it's outdated and had wall fungus!! in the bathroom. and the room was out of power 3 times with no explanation. The front desk came to inspect the room and they said they will change the room, but after we was waiting 3 hrs! nothing happen so I had to came […] down to the lobby to check the status, they change us the room to a one bed instead of 2 beds. I had to go down for a second time and they finally gave us a room on the new building which is the same setup but new. We stayed at the hotel for two nights. The room was very clean and the staff friendly, trying to help. The breakfast was good, with a lot of varieties. We went to the Brazil falls and the Bird Park on public transportation 30 meters across the street. There are a few eateries nearby. All in all, a good place to stay.

Though this hotel is very well located, close a bus terminal which come helpful if you are going to the Brazilian side of the falls! They lack great services, hardly anyone spoke english including the people at the registration desk, as per information on hotels.com that this hotel offer shuttle and when I call no one was able to help me with this request […] and I ended up expending a lot of money on a taxi. the wifi never worked in my room even though it was supposed to work, so every time I need it to use I had to go down to the lobby. on the plus side the travel agency was great and affordable at least for the transportation I requested from them! Booked this hotel because of price and proximity to a conference in a larger, more expensive hotel. Should have paid to stay in the more expensive hotel. This hotel was very spartan; had a window airconditioner and metal louvre windows. Let in a lot of outside noise. Bathroom was tiny, and VERY DATED. Could not shower without constantly banging my elbows […] into the wall. Bathroom was also plagued with drain flies. Yuk. Breakfast buffet was OK, although all bread & pastries were sawdust dry. Good selection of fruit & hot items. Cheap high-speed internet was a pleasant surprise- only 5 reals a day. Location was poor - seemed to be surrounded with buildings that were under construction, and sidewalks were closed off. But this seemed typical for the whole city. Stayed there for one night and had booked the hotel as a package with flights. It is located centrally in proximity to the central bus station and a few restaurants. The area appeared fairly safe. The hotel itself has a decent looking check-in area. However, rooms are very functional and look like typical hospital rooms.

The staff was helpful and for first time of our stay in Brazil we were able to communicate without a problem, since the staff spoke very good Spanish. I need to say that the two Bellboys did a great job; they were able to answer questions and give you directions. There is a Churrascaria two doors down Called El Gaucho which cost for two around $30+ usd, it was OK for the price and the buffet portion was better than expected however some meat cuts were too tough and trying to understand which cut it was, was almost impossible since my Portuguese is pretty basic. The hotel is in a good location, near shops, some good resturants and very close to the local bus station and a taxi rank. Its easy to catch a bus to visit the falls or the dam. Very spacious and clean room with air con which is a must after visiting the Iguacu falls on a hot sticky day. Breakfast was a bit ordinary with disappointing coffee and lots of bread products. Fruit was available. Hotel was undergoing a bit of renovation but disruption was minimal.

Good location close to bus to Iguazu and bus to Argentina. Comfy rooms although nothing really special - it does its job. Excellent breakfast - one of the best throughout the whole trip. Helpful staff - ask for Jackson. Great restaurant just up the road called Buffalo Branco - don't miss it! Overall we felt it was great value considering the price.

Good location, close to the central bus station, easy to use busses to both sides of the Falls, and to get to\from the airport if you don’t have heavy baggage. Free Wi-Fi worked OK. Good breakfast. Small room and noisy. Breakfast is very huge with a lot of choise. Because the price we paid (about 80 eur a night) it was perfect. Convenient location because it is very near bus stop (you can take almost every bus there). The middle of the centre with most of the restaurants is about 10 to 15 min walk.
